PRAY FOR OUR NATION

Today (May 7th) is National Day of Prayer! Although we certainly should be praying for our nation more than just today ...
NDOP
"The mission of the National Day of Prayer is to mobilize prayer in America
and to encourage personal repentance and righteousness in the culture."

Since "The Lighthouse of Prayer" is basically on its own and no longer being updated and maintained, it is still a place of prayer so we could/should not overlook this day and the need to join in and PRAY!

Your prayers are welcome here or you can post them on the official PRAYER WALL at PPT and WATCH LIVE(if you are able).

The theme for 2015 is Lord, Hear Our Cry, emphasizing the need for individuals, corporately and individually, to place their faith in the unfailing character of their Creator, who is sovereign over all governments, authorities, and men.  To further highlight the theme, I Kings 8:28 was chosen as the Scripture for this year:  “Hear the cry and the prayer that your servant is praying in your presence this day.” Click HERE for Dr. Jack Graham's (2015 National Prayer Honorary Chairman) National Prayer.

...FOR SUCH A TIME AS THIS...

Let us pray

PRAYER for Our Nation

This was shared in an email from the Presidential Prayer Team:

Declaration of Independence Signer

Samuel Chase
George Washington (1732-1799), 1st President of the United States

"Almighty God: We make our earnest prayer that Thou wilt keep the United States in Thy Holy protection; and Thou wilt incline the hearts of the Citizens to cultivate a spirit of subordination and obedience to Government; and to entertain a brotherly affection and love for one another and for their fellow Citizens of the United States at large, and particularly for their brethren who have served in the Field. And finally that Thou wilt most graciously be pleased to dispose us all to do justice, to love mercy, and to demean ourselves with that Charity, humility, and pacific temper of mind which were the Characteristics of the Divine Author of our blessed Religion, and without a humble imitation of whose example in these things we can never hope to be a happy nation. Grant our supplication we beseech Thee, through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen." --

This prayer of George Washington appears in St. Paul's Chapel in New York City.
