GOD of COMFORT, GOD of DELIVERANCE

2 Corinthians 1

I recently signed up with Heartlight.org to receive via email "Praying with Paul". Since March, he has been sharing Corinthians I & II as Readings followed by PRAYERS. These are written and shared by Eldon Degge who turns Paul's writings into daily, powerful prayers

Today I want to share with you some examples because of the value and worth of each prayer seems to be needed by many of you, as I've passed through the blogs and read. Since I believe so strongly in prayer, united prayer, praying through Scriptures and the power of prayer because of Praying in the Name of Jesus, Our God, these just seem to be prayers we all could reflect & pray in one accord for our various needs.

I will start with May 16th, 2 Corinthians 1:3-11:

GOD of COMFORT

Dear Father, great and gentle one,Blessed are you, God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ.
You are the Father of mercies and the God of all comfort. You comfort us in our affliction, so that we may be able to comfort others who are in affliction with the same comfort with which we ourselves are comforted by you.You enable us to know that as we share abundantly in Christ's sufferings, so through Christ we shall share abundantly in comfort too.

Thank you that our suffering is not meaningless, but is for the comfort and salvation of others.

Thank you for a hope that cannot be shaken.Jesus has taught to besiege you with constant prayer. Here we are again, coming in his name. Amen.

GOD of DELIVERANCE

Dear Father, great and gentle one,When I am utterly, unbearably crushed so that I despair of life itself, when I feel as if I have received the sentence of death, remind me that I am to rely not on myself but on You, the God who raises the dead.It is only You who can deliver from deadly peril. I have set my hope on You. You deliver me again and again and again. How faithful You are!

I pray for my many brothers and sisters in Christ throughout the world, that they will experience relief from suffering, deliverance from peril, and comfort after grief and despair.Grant bountiful blessings to Your people, my God, in answer to many prayers. Please receive this one and make it count among the many others! Thank You, Father. Thank You, Lord. Thank You, Spirit.Jesus has taught to besiege you with constant prayer. Here we are again, coming in his name. Amen.

CHRIST, OUR YES

Passage

2 Corinthians 1:12-20

Prayer

Amen! Yes! Abba, Dear Father, Let me find pride in this - that my conscience testifies that I live my life in this world with holiness and godly sincerity, not by earthly wisdom but by Your graciousness.Help me not to vacillate as I make my plans. Don't let me be like those who are worldly, ready to say \"Yes\" and \"No\" at the same time, talking out of both sides of their mouth.

As surely as You, God, are faithful, let me act in good faith toward others. For Your Son, Jesus Christ, in whom I believe by the preaching of the Good News, was not Yes and No, but was Yes! For all Your promises find Your Yes through Him. So through Him we utter the Yes, the Amen, at the close of our prayers - to Your glory. In the name of Jesus I ask this and utter my Yes! my Amen! according to His will. Yes! Amen!

"This, then, is how you should pray:
" 'Our Father in heaven,
hallowed be your name,
10Your kingdom come,
Your will be done
on earth as it is in heaven.
11Give us today our daily bread.
12Forgive us our debts,
as we also have forgiven our debtors.
13And lead us not into temptation,
but
deliver us from the evil one...

GLOBAL DAY OF PRAYER is coming quickly...May 31st!

WE NEED YOU LORD TO MAKE A WAY!

For more than 3 decades, Don Moen has moved me with his worship music & his original plan to lead others closer to Jesus. He's one of my favorites, maybe it's because he's from Minnesota.

Don Moen.com (his official website) shares many stories from his great songs & much more.

This song was sung at my church when we inaugurated its new location & name. I was chosen to share a brief testimony during the music interlude with another sister in the Lord. I so enjoyed being a part of our choir & it was indeed a privilege to share how GOD MADE A WAY for me.

Here in his "Song Story" Don Moen shares:
(From the devotional book God Will Make A Way by Don Moen)

Late one evening, Don Moen received a phone call with devastating news: his wife’s sister had lost her oldest son in an automobile accident. Craig and Susan Phelps and their four sons were traveling through Texas on their way to Colorado when their van was struck broadside by an eighteen-wheeler truck. All four boys were thrown from the van.

Craig and Susan located their sons by their cries, one boy was lying in the ditch, another in an area wet from melted snow. Nearby was his brother who landed by a telephone pole. All were seriously injured, but when Craig, a medical doctor, reached Jeremy, he found him lying by a fence post with his neck broken. There was nothing Craig could do to revive him.

When Don received the news of this tragedy a few hours later, he recalls, My whole world came to a standstill, but I had to get on a plane the next morning and fly to a recording session that had been scheduled for several weeks. Although I knew Craig and Susan were hurting, I couldn’t be with them until the day before the funeral.

During the flight the morning after the accident, God gave me a song for them: God will make a way where there seems to be no way. He works in ways we cannot see. He will make a way for me. The song was based upon Isaiah 43:19 NASB Behold, I will do something new, now it will spring forth; will you not be aware of it? I will even make a roadway in the wilderness, rivers in the desert.

This song would bring comfort to Craig and Susan when all hope seemed lost. It touched the hurt in their hearts with hope and encouragement. Don received a letter from Susan in which she quoted Isaiah 43:4 NASB: Since you are precious in My sight, since you are honored and I love you, I will give other men in your place and other peoples in exchange for your life.

Susan wrote, We’ve seen the truth of the scripture. When Jeremy’s friends learned that he had accepted Jesus into his life before he died, many of them began to ask their own parents how they could be assured of going to heaven when they died. The accident also prompted Craig and Susan into a deeper walk with the Lord as well as into new avenues of ministry. Craig began teaching Sunday school at their church and Susan became active in Women’s Aglow, sharing with various groups her story and the Lord’s provision in her time of sorrow.

She has since said, “The day of the accident, when I got out of the van, even before I knew our son was dead, I knew I had a choice. I could be bitter and angry or I could totally accept God and whatever He had for us. I had to make the decision fast. I’ve seen fruit come as a result of that choice. If I had to, I’d do it again. It’s worth knowing others will go to heaven because of what happened to Jeremy. God really did make a way for us!”

PRAY FOR "GOD TO MAKE A WAY" for you or someone who needs prayer today.

I SURRENDER ALL

What does this phrase mean "to surrender" to God?
Surrender means to yield ownership, to relinquish control over what we consider ours: our property, our time, our "rights." When we surrender to God, we are simply acknowledging that what we "own" actually belongs to Him. He is the giver of all good things. We are responsible to care for what God has given us, as stewards of His property, but by surrendering to God, we admit that He is ultimately in control of everything, including our present circumstances. Surrendering to God helps us to let go of whatever has been holding us back from God's best for our lives. By surrendering to God, we let go of whatever has kept us from wanting God's ways first.

How do you surrender to God?

All About Following Jesus

Have you surrendered all to Jesus?
It's a choice.
Why not choose to loose
all the weights
of the
world?

Just lay them down at the feet of Jesus!
Lay down your burdens.
Lay down the burdens of others.
This is one time when surrendering gives you power...
over the enemy and temptation
Surrender to God
who will give you a weapon to resist!
Take up the Sword & defend yourself & God will defend you!

In the name of Jesus...
all will fall
just call
on Jesus!

COMFORT for the FREEMAN FAMILY

Please click here and shower
with your love & comfort!

Kayleigh
is resting in Jesus arms

"Rest in peace our sweet Angel!
We love you so very much! "

Kayleigh Anne Freeman
 (June 23, 2008 - May 11, 2009 @ 9:44PM)

Please go to

Here's just one part of many beautiful posts that they share from their hearts:

"...What keeps us going? Our faith. I have only been really close to God for a few years & I can't imagine how I would have handled this before then. Knowing that Kayleigh is going to a better place where we will all meet again gives us strength. Knowing that God gave me the most amazing husband in the world to pick me up when I am down, hold me, love me, & wipe away my tears.

Knowing that even though there will be many tough days for us & the kids, they will help us get through it. They actually made us laugh a few times tonight. If it weren't for them being home with us we both would have just closed up & stayed miserable & depressed. They will bring us joy & remind us everyday of the good things in life. Knowing that we have an unbelievable support system is indescribable. Thank you to all of you. Adam & I could NEVER express what you have done for us spiritually, financially, & emotionally. There are many days that we felt like we couldn't have made it without all of you.

I do not know what the next few days or weeks will bring for us. I am afraid. I am nervous every time my phone rings right now. Please continue to pray for us & have your friends & family pray for us. Your prayers have worked miracles in the past & I know they can do it again. We love you all & we feel terrible that you are hurting as well. Please know that we will all take care of each other & we will all get through this together. We may not "know" each other in the normal sense of the word but we will certainly all meet again one day. When you all meet Kayleigh she will look more amazing than she ever has. She won't have any pain, will be whole, & will welcome us all with open arms. How glorious will that be? "

With Love,

Aimee

PRAYER for Our Nation

This was shared in an email from the Presidential Prayer Team:

Declaration of Independence Signer

Samuel Chase
George Washington (1732-1799), 1st President of the United States

"Almighty God: We make our earnest prayer that Thou wilt keep the United States in Thy Holy protection; and Thou wilt incline the hearts of the Citizens to cultivate a spirit of subordination and obedience to Government; and to entertain a brotherly affection and love for one another and for their fellow Citizens of the United States at large, and particularly for their brethren who have served in the Field. And finally that Thou wilt most graciously be pleased to dispose us all to do justice, to love mercy, and to demean ourselves with that Charity, humility, and pacific temper of mind which were the Characteristics of the Divine Author of our blessed Religion, and without a humble imitation of whose example in these things we can never hope to be a happy nation. Grant our supplication we beseech Thee, through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen." --

This prayer of George Washington appears in St. Paul's Chapel in New York City.
