A Blessed & Happy New Year

... let's start the year right in prayer for one another ...

PERSONAL PRAYER REQUESTS and HOW THE LIGHTHOUSE WORKS

If this is your first visit, please stop by here and read a little bit about our ministry--how we are joining together to lift others to God in prayer. However, what you read here and in the posts is actually enough.

Maybe you come across someone that needs prayer while visiting blogs, instead of just saying, "Praying for you", do so and bring their prayer need and leave your prayer here and let them know that you left a prayer for them at the Lighthouse of Prayer

This is an interactive blog based on a comment and response system. YOU are a part of our Prayer Team - the minute you add your prayer in the comment area or leave one for someone else in the reply under their prayer.

PLEASE WRITE YOUR PRAYER, PRAYER REQUEST, PRAISE, THANKS - in the place that would normally read COMMENTS after the most recent post, but here it reads "PRAYERS LIFTED TO THE THRONE of GOD"... since a LINKY is no longer available. We begun using a PRAYER REQUEST LINKY, but if it's not there, please leave PRAYER or REQUEST in "PRAYERS LIFTED TO THE THRONE of GOD" (the area for comments but do not write a comment) Thank you so much! Looking at this new template, it's difficult to know how to leave a comment (Prayer) but just click on the part that says __ comments. [it __ shows a number for how many comments/prayers are currently posted]

We'd love to see your prayer requests and praises to God in this area and hopefully others will be supporting you through their prayers written as a response to your prayer there. Be sure to come back and see the prayers lifting you and yours together to the LORD or leave one! You can also remain anonymous, God knows you.

Please remember NO COMMENTS, only PRAYERS! It is important that this be a house of prayer. Any comment, not as a prayer or prayer request will be deleted. Thanks again!

Please read announcement in Oct. 2014 first to understand better the lack of activity here! Thank you.

PETITIONS to GOD'S THRONE for MARCH: PART ONE

"Though one may be overpowered, two can defend themselves.
A cord of three strands is not quickly broken"
"For where two or three come together in my name,
there am I with them."
This is meant to be an interactive blog based on a comment and response system

PLEASE WRITE YOUR PRAYER, PRAYER REQUEST, PRAISE, THANKS in the place that would normally read comments after the most recent post, here it will read

"PRAYERS LIFTED TO THE THRONE of GOD."

We'd love to see your Prayer requests (Petitions) in what normally would be the Comment area, where others will be supporting you through their prayers, written as a response to your petition there.

We are encouraging you all to pray whenever you read a need of someone, so please respond here with a prayer. You need not be a team member to leave a prayer for someone or bring a prayer need here. We all can lift up a prayer for each person and encourage someone, help to carry another's burden, stand with them and bless them.

The Linky asks for a blog link (BUT you need not fill that in if you don't have a blog or the person that you are requesting prayers for does not). The intention of this is so the people will go "visit" the person to encourage them or find out more about the situation. Thank you for sharing people that you find need prayer.

If you need a prayer on "Walking in Faithfulness", I shared one here. Also Wendy, has shared a wonderful series (11 parts) from the book "Do You Pray?" by J. C. Ryle over a Faith's Firm Foundation
Please take the time to check out the PRAYERS FOR JANUARY, many still need our prayers and the end of the list also of FEBRUARY'S PETITIONS TO GOD'S THRONE with important prayer requests that still need to be lifted to God's Throne for these precious ones.

Let's us MARCH to God's Throne with these petitions in the authority of Jesus Christ on behalf of one another in Jesus Name... keep pressing on in prayer, please.

FAITH DECLARATIONS for our PRAYER CHALLENGE (Part I)

I recently read these over at THE MARKINGS IN THE WOOD and Debby graciously has allowed me to share them here too... (note the source below) I believe that these will be a good groundwork for our 40 Days of Prayer starting March 9th HERE...start your prayer time declaring these for at least 30 days or all 40...

Romans 10:14 (57 kb)
...or in our case, here at the LIGHTHOUSE of PRAYER...without someone PRAYING for them?

Declarations #1 (Romans 4:17; Romans 10:9,10) These ten basic declarations are foundational to the building of your faith.  They will increase expectancy of God’s goodness; and, thus, will increase the manifestation of that goodness in your life.  Jesus said, “According to your faith, so be it” (Matthew 8:13).  Say these (and the other declarations lists) everyday for a month and see what happens to your life.

1. My prayers are powerful and effective (2 Cor. 5:21; James 5:16b).
2. God richly supplies all my financial needs (Phil. 4:19).
3. I am dead to sin and alive to obeying God (Romans 6:11).
4. I walk in ever-increasing health (Isaiah 53:3-5; Psalm 103:1-3).
5. I live under a supernatural protection (Psalm 91).
6. I prosper in all my relationships (Luke 2:52).
7. I consistently bring God encounters to other people (Mark 16:17,18).
8. Through Jesus I am 100% loved and worthy to receive all of God’s blessings (Gal. 3:1-5).
9. Each of my family members is wonderfully blessed and radically loves Jesus (Acts 16:30,31).
10. I uproariously laugh when I hear a lie from the devil (Psalm 2:2-4).

Hebrews 11:1 (63 kb)

Declarations #2  Remember this: Faith is the evidence of things not seen (Heb. 11:1).  Our “evidence” for things being true is not our circumstances, but God’s promises.  We don’t deny negative facts in our lives, but we choose to focus on a higher reality: God’s truth.  Faith indeed comes by hearing (Romans 10:17); therefore, we choose to speak these powerful truths to build our own faith.

1. I set the course of my life with my declarations (James 3:2-5).
2. God is on my side; therefore I declare that I cannot be defeated, discouraged, depressed or disappointed  (Rom. 8:37; Psalm 91; Phil. 4:13).
3. I am the head, not the tail.  I have insight.  I have wisdom.  I have ideas and divine strategies.
I have authority (Deut. 28:13; Deut. 8:18; James 1:5-8; Luke 10:19).
4. As I speak God’s promises, they come to pass.  They stop all attacks, assaults, oppression, and fear from my life  (2 Peter 1:2-4; Mark 11:23-24).
5. God is on my side today and therefore I cannot be defeated. (Romans 8:37; Psalms 91)
6.  I have the wisdom of God today.  I will think the right thoughts, say the right words, and make the right decisions in every situation I face (James 1:5; 1 Cor. 2:16).
7. I expect to have powerful divine appointments today to heal the sick, to raise the dead, to prophesy life, to lead people to Christ, to brink deliverance, to release signs and wonders and to bless every place I go (the book of Acts).
8. I expect the best day of my life spiritually, emotionally, relationally, and financially in Jesus’ name (Rom. 15:13).
Psalm 36:5-6 (31 kb)

Declarations #3  One of the main “methods” Jesus and the apostles used (in the gospels and Acts) was to SPEAK TO things.  You will notice that they did not ask God to heal people, to cast out demons, or to raise the dead; but they spoke to bodies, to demons, to the wind, etc.  Jesus encouraged us to speak to mountains in Mark 11:23.  This set of declarations focuses much on our speaking to the various aspects in our lives.

1. I have a covenant with God, and by the blood of Jesus I release my divine protection and divine provision (Hebrews 8:6).
2. My angels are carrying out the Word of God on my behalf (Psalm 103:20).
3. Any adversity, attack, accidents and tragedies that were headed my way are diverted right now in Jesus’ name (Psalm 91).
4. I speak to the raging waters in my life; peace, be still.  I say to my mind; peace, be still.  I say to my emotions; peace, be still.  I say to my body; peace, be still.  I say to my home; peace, be still.  I say to my family; peace, be still (Mark 4:39).
5. Now I speak to every mountain of fear, every mountain of discouragement, every mountain of stress, every mountain of depression, every mountain of lack and insufficiency; and I say, “Be removed and cast into the sea in Jesus’ name!” (Mark 11:22-24)
6. And I speak to this day and I call you blessed.  And I declare that I serve a mighty God who today will do exceedingly and abundantly beyond all that I can ask or think (Ephesians 3:20).  I say you are a good God and I  eagerly anticipate your goodness today.

Another blog ME BEING REAL personally added 18 more. That's enough to cover each of the 40 days.

* after publishing this as one post, I decided to break it into two parts; The Declarations here in Part I (which I have also added along the sidebars) and other suggestions to help your "40 Days of Prayer" (Part II) Challenge, with another set of Declarations of WHO I AM in Christ.

FAITH DECLARATIONS for our PRAYER CHALLENGE (Part II)

* After publishing this as one post, I decided to break it into two parts; The Declarations in Part I (which I have also added along the sidebars) and other suggestions to help your "40 Days of Prayer" (Part II) Challenge, with another set of Declarations of WHO I AM in Christ.
Romans 10:14 (57 kb)
...or in our case, here at the LIGHTHOUSE of PRAYER...
...And how can they believe or hear ... without someone PRAYING for them?

There are many places for you to select Promises from God's Word to PRAY. Personally I think selecting topics for prayer that fit your life, reflecting on the scriptures and praying each of them would be a more effective way of personally praying God's Word. The initial prayer challenge post shared some places and I know there are more places for prayers like Belief.Net and About.com plus the individual church, ministries or well known preachers/pastors.

I also have another set of DECLARATIONS of "WHO I AM"  IN CHRIST (being reposted over at Amazing Grace...) which would also be a good source to pray each day - more than 40...

also mentioned a church in the Prayer Challenge that did a 40 day prayer challenge on December 5th, 2010which I came across and would make a good guide with their pdf (but I am not sure who it is from to credit or ask permission so... ) I particularly like the last 7 days and may use a format like this for here) but this is how their 40 day started (maybe this is the only guide you need):
Challenge:  One of your prayers each day should cover the sentiments below.  It also
should be 10 minutes in length.  So keep searching your heart and talking to God until the 10 minutes are over. There will be moments of silence which is okay, just let it flow and go deep when you finish all the surface stuff.

Day 1: Ask for strength to follow through with this challenge of 40 days of at least one
seven minute prayer.  Ask for a heart that delights and desires to come before God
several times a day in prayer.  Ask God to help you to realize the importance and power of prayer in your life and others.   Ask that you understand and do what it takes today to be closer to Him and His people.
Day 2:  Pray that your heart will be softened and your eyes opened to see a brother or sister in Christ who is in need physically, emotionally, financially.  That you will have strength to take the first step and show compassion to that person who needs help.  God grant you the resources needed to help that person.
I do not intend to restrict how you PRAY or however you would like to do your "40 Days Away 2 Pray"...these are only suggestions to get you started or help you focus.

If you still are searching or praying about joining this JOURNEY but are lost or need something more specific, might I recommend that you choose one over at Prayer Central(PC). Or the one above from Germaine Copeland, that will change daily... take the scriptures given and write your own prayer from them like hers or PC...

Here's Day 5 of the ABC's of PRAYER, which stands for Abiding, Believing and Confronting:
Day-5 Free Access to God’s Throne
Intro:God sits on His throne high above the heavens and the earth. However as His child you have His listening ear whenever you need it. The door to His throne room is open wide to you through the sacrifice of Christ. You can come before the Father boldly, bringing your needs and the needs of others to His attention. Consider these scriptures and receive confidence that His ear is open to your cry.~PRAYER CENTRAL
Prayer:Father, You are the sovereign Lord over all creation, and yet Your ear is open to my prayers. I thank You that I can come boldly before Your throne to receive the help I need for myself and others. I am grateful that You are not a God that is far off, but that You are near. Your heart is full of concern for Your children. I am confident that You hear me when I cry out to You. I rest in the security of Your watchful eye. My heart looks with anticipation for the answers You will send. I receive the privilege of coming before Your throne, where I can release my burdens and the needs of others into Your bountiful care.~PRAYER CENTRAL
Scripture:
Psalm 34:17 (39 kb)
Psalms 34:17 “[The righteous] cry and the LORD hears, And delivers them out of all their troubles.”Hebrews 4:16 “Let us therefore draw near with confidence to the throne of grace, that we may receive mercy and may find grace to help in time of need.”
2 Samuel 22:7 “In my distress I called upon the LORD, Yes, I cried to my God; And from His temple He heard my voice, And my cry for help [came] into His ears.”
Jeremiah 23:24 “Can a man hide himself in hiding places, So I do not see him?” declares the LORD. “Do I not fill the heavens and the earth?” declares the LORD.
 Jeremiah 23:24 (59 kb)
Psalms 34:15 “The eyes of the LORD are toward the righteous, And His ears are [open] to their cry.” ~ PRAYER CENTRAL

SO ARE YOU READY TO FOCUS ON PRAYER FOR 40 DAYS?

* it'd be ever so nice to share your daily prayer here... but it's not a prerequisite nor do you have to share on your blog or anywhere, this is totally between you and God... except for declaring that you're in... to be accountable.

PRAYER REQUESTS for MARCH are HERE:  PETITIONS to GOD'S THRONE for MARCH
examples of prayers in the comments because remember ONLY PRAYERS in the comments, if you want to write a comment, you may visit my regular blog, any post and leave it...

RESTING PLACE

This blog post was inspired by Sharon's "Sleepless in California" and I decided any of us, in any given day (or night in this case) may find ourselves in need of scriptures or verses and a "RESTING PLACE"

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GhwSPzWs-pc

Do you sleep well at nights?
Do you bring the problems of the day to your sleep?
Do your worries wake you in the middle of the night?
Do you go to sleep in dread of the following day?

Are you looking for ways to cure insomnia?

It doesn't have to be this way. If we look in the Bible, we can find a cure for insomnia.

ANSWERS FOR WOMEN SERIES
(Insomnia) by Connie Larson (pdf) *GREAT one!!!
Bible Verses for Sleepless Nights

BIBLE VERSES about INSOMNIA

Look what else I found an actual BLOG "THE CURE FOR INSOMNIA"
SLEEPY BIBLE VERSES

By day the LORD directs his love, at night his song is with me - a prayer to the God of my life." -Ps 42:8 (NIV)

"I, (your name) lay down and slept…for the LORD was watching over me, (your name)… In peace I, (your name) will lie down and sleep, for You alone, O LORD, will keep me (your name) safe."
(Psalm 3:5 and 4:8)

If you need REST, or SLEEP or prayer, choose one of the verses and change it to prayer as I did the example above from Psalm 3:5 and Psalm 4:8. Put it on an index card along side your bed or under your pillow so when you find yourself not able to sleep, you can claim the verse or read the verses and God will grant you the sleep and rest you need.

PRAYER for Our Nation

This was shared in an email from the Presidential Prayer Team:

Declaration of Independence Signer

Samuel Chase
George Washington (1732-1799), 1st President of the United States

"Almighty God: We make our earnest prayer that Thou wilt keep the United States in Thy Holy protection; and Thou wilt incline the hearts of the Citizens to cultivate a spirit of subordination and obedience to Government; and to entertain a brotherly affection and love for one another and for their fellow Citizens of the United States at large, and particularly for their brethren who have served in the Field. And finally that Thou wilt most graciously be pleased to dispose us all to do justice, to love mercy, and to demean ourselves with that Charity, humility, and pacific temper of mind which were the Characteristics of the Divine Author of our blessed Religion, and without a humble imitation of whose example in these things we can never hope to be a happy nation. Grant our supplication we beseech Thee, through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen." --

This prayer of George Washington appears in St. Paul's Chapel in New York City.
