If this is your first visit, please stop by here and read a little bit about our ministry--how we are joining together to lift others to God in prayer. However, what you read here and in the posts is actually enough.

Maybe you come across someone that needs prayer while visiting blogs, instead of just saying, "Praying for you", do so and bring their prayer need and leave your prayer here and let them know that you left a prayer for them at the Lighthouse of Prayer

This is an interactive blog based on a comment and response system.

PLEASE WRITE YOUR PRAYER, PRAYER REQUEST, PRAISE, THANKS in the place that would normally read COMMENTS after the most recent post but here it will read "PRAYERS LIFTED TO THE THRONE of GOD"... if a LINKY is not available. We have begun using a PRAYER REQUEST LINKY but if it's not there please leave PRAYER or REQUEST in "PRAYERS LIFTED TO THE THRONE of GOD" (the area for comments but no comment) Thank you so much!

We'd love to see your prayer requests and praises to God in this area and hopefully others will be supporting you through their prayers written as a response to your prayer there. Be sure to come back and see the prayers lifting you and yours together to the LORD or leave one! You can also remain anonymous, God knows you.

Please remember NO COMMENTS, only PRAYERS! It is important that this be a house of prayer. Any comment, not as a prayer or prayer request will be deleted. Thanks again!

Please read announcement in Oct. 2014 first to understand better the lack of activity here! Thank you.

NATIONAL DAY of PRAYER ~ May 5th, 2016

The National Observance will begin at 9:00 a.m. ET and concludes at 12 noon ET on Thursday, May 5, 2016.  WebsiteRadio; God TV livestream-U.S.

"Lord of the Universe. Lord of this planet. Lord of the nations. Lord of our hearts.

On this National Day of Prayer, we look to You…
In the darkness, You are our Light.
In the storm, You are our Anchor.
In our weakness, You are our Strength.
In our grief, You are our Comfort.
In our despair, You are our Hope.
In our confusion, You are our Wisdom.
In time of terrorism, You are our Shield.
In time of war, You are our Peace.
In times of uncertainty,You are the Rock on which we stand.

We make our prayer to You using the words of the prophet Daniel:

O Lord, You are the great and awesome God, who keeps His covenant of love with those who love Him and keep His commandments. You are merciful and forgiving. You are righteous, but this day we are covered with shame because we have sinned against You, and done wrong. We
have turned away from Your commands and principles. We have turned away from You.

Yet You have promised in 2 Chronicles 7, that if we--a people identified with You--would humble ourselves, pray, seek Your face, and turn from our wicked ways, then You would hear our prayer, forgive our sin and heal our land.

So we choose to stop pointing our finger at the sins of others, and examine our own hearts and lives. We choose to acknowledge our own sin--our neglect and defiance and ignorance and even rejection of You. This day we choose to repent.

In response to our heartfelt repentance, God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob, Father of Jesus Christ, in keeping with all Your righteous acts and according to Your promise, turn away Your anger and Your wrath from the United States of America. Hear the prayers and petitions offered to You on this National Day of Prayer, as we give You our full attention. Give ear, our God, and hear; open Your eyes and see. We do not make requests of You because we are righteous, but because of Your great mercy.

For the glory of Your Name hear our prayer, forgive our sin, and heal our land.

We ask this in the name of Your Son Jesus Christ who offers us salvation from Your judgment, forgiveness for our sin, and reconciliation with You through His own blood shed on the Cross." Amen.

Day 31 - Teach me to Pray

Day-31 Teach me to Pray

from the

(I believe tomorrow, at Prayer Central, these start over)

"Day-31 Teach me to Pray

Teach Me To Pray
When the disciples asked Jesus to teach them to pray, He gave them a simple 6 step pattern to follow. He didn’t intend for us to just pray the same words he spoke in Matthew 6:9, He intended it to be an outline for prayer. Use each verse of the Lord’s pray as a guideline to help keep your prayer-time on track. “Pray, then, in this way:”

Step 1

“Our Father who art in heaven, Hallowed be Thy name.” This is the call to praise and worship. Take time to honor the Lord and consider His greatness. Remember His faithfulness to you and and be encouraged by His promises.

Step 2

“Thy kingdom come. Thy will be done, On earth as it is in heaven.” Align yourself with God’s will, and listen to know His desires. Proclaim God’s will over your life, family, church, the lost, etc. Wait and allow the Lord to share His heart and will with you.

Step 3

“Give us this day our daily bread.” Ask God for your needs and the needs of others. Be specific, and ask in faith for anything you know the Lord wants to give you (see step 2).

Step 4

“And forgive us our debts, as we also have forgiven our debtors.” Ask God for forgiveness in any areas of known sin, and speak out forgiveness toward anyone you have not forgiven.

Step 5

“And do not lead us into temptation, but deliver us from evil.”Stand in the authority of Christ and resist the enemy in whatever way he is coming against you or against others.

Step 6

“For Thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory, forever. Amen.” Finish with proclaiming who God is and exalting His name. Take time to thank Him for the answers to come, and to worship Him as the Most High God. " Prayer Central by Kathleen Dillard

I felt that this last one was important to have here as a final reminder of how we should be praying.

On Praying 'Our Father...'

Final post here once again

{see Update Note at end of the other blog with all this month's prayer links to Prayer Central. But remember they will not click to that specific day's prayer - they all go to the current day's prayer} I will try to go back and add the missing ones yet as you can see, it won't be available until that day of the month.

I sincerely tried to restart us praying as one chord here again
just does not seem as interactive as it was meant to be

PRAYER for Our Nation

This was shared in an email from the Presidential Prayer Team:

Declaration of Independence Signer

Samuel Chase
George Washington (1732-1799), 1st President of the United States

"Almighty God: We make our earnest prayer that Thou wilt keep the United States in Thy Holy protection; and Thou wilt incline the hearts of the Citizens to cultivate a spirit of subordination and obedience to Government; and to entertain a brotherly affection and love for one another and for their fellow Citizens of the United States at large, and particularly for their brethren who have served in the Field. And finally that Thou wilt most graciously be pleased to dispose us all to do justice, to love mercy, and to demean ourselves with that Charity, humility, and pacific temper of mind which were the Characteristics of the Divine Author of our blessed Religion, and without a humble imitation of whose example in these things we can never hope to be a happy nation. Grant our supplication we beseech Thee, through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen." --

This prayer of George Washington appears in St. Paul's Chapel in New York City.
