2013 PRAYER REQUESTS

"Though one may be overpowered, two can defend themselves.
A cord of three strands is not quickly broken"

Ecclesiastes 4:12
This is meant to be an interactive blog based on comment and response system. That's where YOU come in, we need YOU to help the Lighthouse of Prayer work effectively by joining us in sharing your prayer requests or other's you encounter AND then by leaving a prayer for them, let them know that you are lifting them in prayer with us here.

WE REALLY NEED YOU !

This blog ONLY works if WE all JOIN together
in prayer and sharing.

We'd love to see your Prayer requests (Petitions) in what normally would be the Comment area, where others will be supporting you through their prayers hopefully, written as a response to your petition there. We'd like this to be a community of prayer, praying for one another.

We encourage you ALL to pray whenever you read a need of someone, so please respond here with a prayer also. You need not be a team member to leave a prayer for someone or bring a prayer need here. We all can lift up a prayer for each person and encourage someone, help to carry another's burden, stand with them and bless them.

This blog post is only for
PRAYER REQUESTS

Please use other posts to write other prayers
but
Your PRAYERS are always welcome here!

When you leave a prayer request,
please come back to read the prayer(s) for you.

Hopefully you will find them right under your
PRAYER REQUEST
made possible with the new feature of
REPLY

If you are praying for that prayer request
please use the REPLY right under that prayer request.

UPDATE for 2013

Not knowing what the future holds in 2013 for Our Lighthouse of Prayer, I'd like to express my thankfulness for the faithful that come here and leave prayers and prayer requests. In Feb, 2013, Linky starts a new subscription and I'm not too sure if we will be continuing to share prayers via LINKY, but I have seen that you do well at leaving them as PRAYER REQUESTS in the comments. It is so important, in lieu of the possibility of no longer having a Linky that you do the following as best you can:

Please

1st: write the words

PRAYER REQUEST
first

when adding your PRAYER REQUEST in the comments
so we know this is a prayer need

2nd: the person who needs prayer
[the initial of their name if they may not want their name used]

3rd: their specific prayer need
as concise and clearly as you can briefly
click
PUBLISH

then if you desire to pray for that need
click REPLY under that
PRAYER REQUEST
and add your prayer
ANYONE praying for that same person should click the REPLY
also below the same prayer request.

If you or the person in need of prayer has left a blog post with more about their prayer need, please include the link to that blog post also, if at all possible.

Thank you
for praying with us!

Let us pray

in the name of
Jesus

*Personal Note of housekeeping: Thank you all for your prompt prayers starting off 2013 right. AMEN! I was a bit overwhelmed with all the emails of comments/prayers, but it is wonderful to see you all supporting and standing together in prayer. That's what this is all about! Sorry that I have been so unavailable and not able to respond or have "everything" ready to go right away.

I noticed there is/was a need for PRAISE reports and thank you for the wonderful testimony that is to God and prayers. Because of this I added once again a separate post for "Praise, Answers, Thanks to God" below and have removed them from here, but added them there. Otherwise, this Prayer Request post gets really long and hard to follow so many and stand with each one. I'm reading each one and praying with you.

Perhaps I will have to have two prayer request posts per month or more depending on how many we share. I don't like to do that either because then the previous prayers or flow get left behind.

I so appreciate each one of you that come here and take the time to write out your prayers and for those who pass by and read as well, joining us praying.

PRAISE, ANSWER, THANKS: Part II

Here at the Lighthouse of Prayer, we lift each other up and pray for our needs and those of others we see here and there throughout "blogland".

“I will praise you, O LORD, with all my heart” Psalm 9:1
"Praise should always follow answered prayer, just like the mist of earth’s gratitude rises when the sun of heaven’s love warms the ground. Has the Lord been gracious to you, and heard your voice as your earnestly pray? Then praise Him as long as you live! Don’t deny a song to Him who has answered your prayer and given you the desire of your heart." Originally written by Charles H. Spurgeon, published in “Mornings and Evenings,” entry for October 30th, AM. Updated to modern English by Darren Hewer, 2008
Quite a while back, it was suggested to me to include PRAISE reports!!!

Why of course, we always want to come back and give glory to Our Lord, praise Him and thank Him. In fact, I'm sure that we had a place long ago when we started here. So since we try to keep everything as a prayer around here, I was not sure how this might work ... but I'm leaving it up to YOU! I have noticed some PRAISE shared in the Prayer Requests (that I truly appreciate) but I just wanted to make a special place.

We tried this back in September (Part I) so this will be (Part II.), if you'd like to see how it was done then, read or view a video with some scriptures on PRAISE, click on Part I.

If at all possible, write your PRAISE, ANSWER or THANKS in a form of a prayer ... Thank you and God bless!

It's Time to Pray

PRAYER for Our Nation

This was shared in an email from the Presidential Prayer Team:

Declaration of Independence Signer

Samuel Chase
George Washington (1732-1799), 1st President of the United States

"Almighty God: We make our earnest prayer that Thou wilt keep the United States in Thy Holy protection; and Thou wilt incline the hearts of the Citizens to cultivate a spirit of subordination and obedience to Government; and to entertain a brotherly affection and love for one another and for their fellow Citizens of the United States at large, and particularly for their brethren who have served in the Field. And finally that Thou wilt most graciously be pleased to dispose us all to do justice, to love mercy, and to demean ourselves with that Charity, humility, and pacific temper of mind which were the Characteristics of the Divine Author of our blessed Religion, and without a humble imitation of whose example in these things we can never hope to be a happy nation. Grant our supplication we beseech Thee, through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen." --

This prayer of George Washington appears in St. Paul's Chapel in New York City.
