{I tried to leave my comment on Denise's post link of photo, but need blog author's approval-so I hope you approve: "It is my joy, honor and such a privilege to have come to know and love you, my friend and sister in Christ. Words cannot express what a true blessing you are and have been to me. You have been through so much yet I know Jesus is right there with you.

My dear Denise (a.k.a. Shortybear) I love you and you hold a special place in my heart today and always! {shared your photo with Coco on our Lighthouse of Prayer} You are a true warrior and the sweetest spirit ever ... I treasure you just being you! With a heart full of love ~Peggy

[I wanted to enable replies, like my other blog has and use this in the comments, but cannot find where to do that ... it was Oct. 2014 when this prayer team slowed down and I believe that it was because Denise was taken so ill and Alice also, then I looked at November 2014 followed by some posts in  March 2016 where I attempted to try again and there I read Denise ... sharing prayers for others and participating as the best team player I could ever ask for ... indeed Denise will be missed. I have so much I'd love to write about Denise, however if you read her sweet prayers, visit her blog, you will discover how easy it is to love her ... Denise deserves a real tribute, but this and her own words and prayers are the best I have at this time. Thank you all for your prayers!]

Heavenly Father, Welcome home our beloved, dear sister Denise with the words; "Well done my good and faithful servant..." I know when my words fail, Your Word never does and Your Holy Spirit will pray for me as Jesus opens His arms (as our blog header shows) for our prayer warrior and sweet spirit Denise. Send Your Comforter to all of us who love and will miss her here, especially Eddie, her husband; her beloved companion dog, Coco; other family members; and her friends (both real and online). We lift all before You in the days ahead for peace, comfort and strength continually in the hope we have in You and Your Word.

I pray Psalm 23 and 103 today, from Denise's favorites:

"The Lord is my shepherd, I lack nothing.
2 He makes me lie down in green pastures,
He leads me beside quiet waters,
3 He refreshes my soul.
He guides me along the right paths
for His name’s sake.
4 Even though I walk
through the darkest valley,
I will fear no evil,
for You are with me;
Your rod and Your staff,
they comfort me.
5 You prepare a table before me {yes, Denise, He has}
in the presence of my enemies.
You anoint my head with oil;
my cup overflows.
6 Surely your goodness and love will follow me all the days of my life,
and I will dwell in the house of the Lord forever." (Psalm 23, NIV)

"Bless the Lord, O my soul;
And all that is within me, bless His holy name!
2 Bless the Lord, O my soul,
And forget not all His benefits:
3 Who forgives all your iniquities,
Who heals all your diseases,
4 Who redeems your life from destruction,
Who crowns you with lovingkindness and tender mercies,
5 Who satisfies your mouth with good things,
So that your youth is renewed like the eagle’s. (Psalm 103)

Thank You, LORD! We love You!!! Be with Eddie, Kelli, Zach and everyone! Have Your way, O Lord and may Your will be done. We give all glory, honor and praise to You in the midst of mixed feelings of sadness, grief and joy at Denise's homecoming or homegoing. Take her hand... give us Peace

What a beautiful tribute, Peggy. I know you and our beloved Denise were sisters of the heart. I count it a privilege that I was blessed to be the online friend that became a in real life friend. I felt like I was representing all of us that love her so.

Father, we thank You for bringing Denise into our lives. She utilized the gifts you gave her well - encouragement and prayer. I can't even begin to imagine my life without her. Please be with Eddie and Coco, Kelli, Zach, her Daddy, and all the aunts, uncles, and cousins that will miss her - and Lord, be with her brother. You know the needs there. Cover all of us who are left behind - her internet friends - with comfort, too. Some of us are truly grieving a great loss. Father, I'm so very grateful that her name is written in the Lamb's Book of Life. I know she is with you, whole and worshiping You. No more pain! Healed in Jesus name and by His presence. Now she is experiencing the love that she so often found hard to receive. We love You and thank You for the little piece of Denise we will carry with us until we meet face to face again. In Jesus Precious Name, Amen.

Amen ... amen hallelujah! (reply to Marsha's prayer)

Yes, Father, we are so thankful (Barbara) Denise name is written in the Lamb's Book of Life!

Hallelujah! Dancing now in heaven with no more pain, tears or suffering. Denise has received her ultimate healing - glory to You, Lord Jesus! We thank You! Denise will live on in our hearts and here.

Thank You Father for Marsha! For her endless, faithful love and friendship to our sister Denise (on our behalf too) and to her husband Eddie. We await the complete work You are doing. We give You thanks for safety and protection for Marsha each time she traveled to be with Denise and ask that You pour back into Marsha in Jesus'name. Thank You that she kept us updated and continued to serve where she could. We bless her and ask Your blessings on her and her family. You are good, so good.

Heavenly Father…I thank You for all Your many blessings but right now I want to especially thank You for the blessing of Barbara Denise Oldham...my little sis...Shortybear... we haven’t met face to face yet but our hearts have met multiple times...and I hold on to that blessed hope of seeing her smile, hearing her laughter, and watching her dance and sing in glory with our Saviour.

She was one of Your best creations, Lord, and she shined Your light in so many dark places and to multitudes of people around the world that came to know and love the lady behind the little bear icon on her blog...always lifting others up even if she was down low...a kind word or expression of hope to so many in blogland...I can only imagine the effect she had on those that actually lived around her and were witness first hand to her infectious joy...they really need Your touch right now, Holy Spirit, as they face the coming days without her...please comfort as only You can in ways that can’t be denied as coming from You…open their eyes to see that their sweet Denise truly knew whom she believed and that her reward of standing in Your presence...no diabetes...no heart trouble...perfect vision...healed and whole...was her desire for each one of her family and her friends...and that they will see each other again in that heavenly home if they put You first as Denise did.

Thank You, Lord, for the connections you give us in life to so many of our friends in the body of Christ...near and far they are Your hands and feet and tangible examples of unconditional love. I want to also give thanks along with Peggy for our sister, Marsha... Give her a double blessing, Lord, to fill all that has been depleted with her many times of caring for others, when she herself needed care...strengthen her body and give rest to her mind as she juggles her many obligations that she fulfills out of love for You and Your people...

Bless my sister of the heart, Peggy...touch her body, mend her heart, rebuild relationships, soothe her soul, revive her spirit, and open up a geyser of blessings that threaten to sweep her away with the magnitude of Your awesome power and grace. I praise you, Father, and ask these requests in Jesus’ wonderful name…

♪♪What a wonderful Name it is,
What a wonderful Name it is,
The Name of Jesus Christ my King.
What a wonderful Name it is,
Nothing compares to this,
What a wonderful Name it is
The Name of Jesus.
What a wonderful Name it is
The Name of Jesus♪♪

Thank you for your beautiful post and prayers. I never met dear Denise in person but she touched me like she touched many of you. I'd lost track of her and wondered what happened. Then I too stopped blogging for the good part of the year. I've been back now for awhile and still wondering what was the status of our dear sis in Christ. I'm rejoicing that she is now happy and pain free and will pray for the comfort of those she left behind. We know we shall meet her one day.

Peggy, I don't know you in person either but was privileged to follow your praying blog when it was open. It sounds like you too are not well. I pray that our Lord give you a healing touch in your body and in your spirit. In the precious name of Jesus, Amen. To God be the glory. xx

Hi! I know this is rather belated, but I did receive encouragement from Denise as the most faithfully commenter on my blog. At one stage she put on her blog a "biography" which went through various troubles in her life; but this was quickly taken down. I reacted to it day by day by writing some verse (which I posted on my blog without identifying it with her). But - I wasn't entirely sure how much to believe as I thought it might have been written during depression. Is there anyone who is on here who would know her history to identify fact from fiction?

PRAYER for Our Nation

This was shared in an email from the Presidential Prayer Team:

Declaration of Independence Signer

Samuel Chase
George Washington (1732-1799), 1st President of the United States

"Almighty God: We make our earnest prayer that Thou wilt keep the United States in Thy Holy protection; and Thou wilt incline the hearts of the Citizens to cultivate a spirit of subordination and obedience to Government; and to entertain a brotherly affection and love for one another and for their fellow Citizens of the United States at large, and particularly for their brethren who have served in the Field. And finally that Thou wilt most graciously be pleased to dispose us all to do justice, to love mercy, and to demean ourselves with that Charity, humility, and pacific temper of mind which were the Characteristics of the Divine Author of our blessed Religion, and without a humble imitation of whose example in these things we can never hope to be a happy nation. Grant our supplication we beseech Thee, through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen." --

This prayer of George Washington appears in St. Paul's Chapel in New York City.
