TOPIC 4 TODAY: STRESS/ WORRIES/ ANXIETY for PEACE

"Bridge to Serenity" by James Coleman

STRESS/ WORRIES/ ANXIETY PRAYERS

these
for the
PEACE of JESUS
the real 'bridge to serenity'

"Peaceful Pause"by James Coleman

I am returning to Praying the Word of God as we have been doing through great books mentioned HERE that take the best book written, The Bible, God's Word and pray scriptures.

Since there are so many verses, I have chosen to focus on scriptures by topics. Eventually, we will have many different posts and hopefully prayers shared by you on those verses. This will be a great reference for anyone to come and pray on that topic or in that need. Please choose a verse and share a prayer (be sure to reference the verse).

Thank you for standing in the gap and coming here to leave a prayer or prayer request. You are not limited by this list and free to pray whatever you are led to share through the power of His Spirit.

Take comfort from these verses, praying and asking the Lord to lift your burdens or those of others:
Luke 12:22-32
22 Then He said to His disciples, "Therefore I say to you, do not worry about your life, what you will eat; nor about the body, what you will put on. 23 Life is more than food, and the body is more than clothing. 24 Consider the ravens, for they neither sow nor reap, which have neither storehouse nor barn; and God feeds them. Of how much more value are you than the birds? 25 And which of you by worrying can add one cubit to his stature? 26 If you then are not able to do the least, why are you anxious for the rest? 27 Consider the lilies, how they grow: they neither toil nor spin; and yet I say to you, even Solomon in all his glory was not arrayed like one of these. 28 If then God so clothes the grass, which today is in the field and tomorrow is thrown into the oven, how much more will He clothe you, O you of little faith? 29 And do not seek what you should eat or what you should drink, nor have an anxious mind. 30 For all these things the nations of the world seek after, and your Father knows that you need these things. 31 But seek the kingdom of God, and all these things shall be added to you. 32 Do not fear, little flock, for it is your Father's good pleasure to give you the kingdom. NKJV
Then Jesus said, “Come to me, all of you who are weary and carry heavy burdens, and I will give you rest. 29 Take my yoke upon you. Let me teach you, because I am humble and gentle at heart, and you will find rest for your souls. 30 For my yoke is easy to bear, and the burden I give you is light.” (NLT)

Philippians 4:6-7

6Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. 7And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.

John 14:27

“I am leaving you with a gift—peace of mind and heart. And the peace I give is a gift the world cannot give. So don’t be troubled or afraid. (NLT)

Psalm 4:8
In peace I will lie down and sleep, for you alone, O Lord, will keep me safe.
1 John 4:18-19
18 There is no fear in love; but perfect love casts out fear, because fear involves torment. But he who fears has not been made perfect in love. 19 We love Him because He first loved us. NKJV

Rom 8:13-15
For if you live according to the sinful nature, you will die; but if by the Spirit you put to death the misdeeds of the body, you will live, 14because those who are led by the Spirit of God are sons of God. 15For you did not receive a spirit that makes you a slave again to fear, but you received the Spirit of sonship. And by him we cry, "Abba, Father." NIV

And of course, Psalm 23, Psalm 91

For our struggle is not against enemies of blood and flesh, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the cosmic powers of this present darkness, against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly places. Ephesians 6:12

Encouraging Verses on PEACE; Verses on STRESS; Verses on WORRY

Mary Fairchild at About.com shares some wonderful articles like this one I've capsulized the main points below:
What does the Bible say about worry?

1. Worrying accomplishes absolutely nothing
2. Worrying is not good for you.
3. Worrying puts your focus in the wrong direction
4. Worrying is the opposite of trusting God.

Of course, we all know these reasons but we loose site. Worry, stress, anxiety can rob us and have destructive health effects. That's a device of the enemy.

Worries increase stress and anxieties and changes our focus to the things of the world, yet it seems that we can't escape them, trying to live in this world. It is in times like this, that we must give our minds, our bodies, all of us, completely over to JESUS and His thoughts, His ways, His remedies. It's all there in His Word & we need to continue pressing into His Word, surrounding ourselves with His Word, reading the verses over and over to battle with our flesh, our own mind.

Mary Fairchild cites some great verses as well for each point above in her article. [Matthew 6:27-29; Proverbs 12:25; Matthew 6:30; Matthew 6:25; Matthew 6:31-33; *1 Peter 5:7]

Product Details

In "Prayers that Prevail", there are prayers Freedom from Worry and Freedom from Fear. The above scriptures and these should be prayed against Worry.

Claim these truths of God's Word and pray it, believing...
Lead us Lord, to Your Peace that passes all understanding...

[Might I suggest making index cards with each of these verses in your favorite translation.]

DON'T WORRY - BE HAPPY

[graphic from Heartlight.org]

"When you are brought before synagogues, rulers and authorities, do not worry about how you will defend yourselves or what you will say, for the Holy Spirit will teach you at that time what you should say."

EMERGENCY PRAYER ALERT for the GULF STATES TODAY!

The oil spill cannot be stopped and the ensuing destruction, but You O Lord are more powerful still, Your mercy and grace unending...pour out Your Spirit with a fresh anointed oil and SAVE US, save the land, save the people, save the refuge this is, save the shoreline, show Your Glory & Power

June 26 , 2010
Emergency Prayer Alert: Gulf State Governors Call for Prayer Tomorrow—SUNDAY

From the desk of Steve Shultz:

It is extremely rare that governors of any state, much less all the gulf states, agree in prayer and call for a day of fasting for a problem—even a SET of problems that they cannot solve. Not only is this oil spill unstoppable by man, but a harsh weather system may be headed for the Gulf which would cause further damage.

The oil must be stopped and beyond that, a tropical depression would cause man to halt all of their own efforts for up to two weeks. Please join with the governors in these gulf states in a day of prayer and fasting.

The Chavdas wrote a recent article on the Gulf Oil Spill(http://www.elijahlist.com/words/display_word/8861) that my good friend James Goll shared on his website as well. I found it interesting that James shared this concerning Bob Jones: "I talked with Seer Prophet Bob Jones and he stated that the Lord showed him in 1997, that after Oral Roberts would go home to be with the Lord, there would be an oil spill disaster in the Gulf of Mexico that only the 'thumb of God' could stop."

As the Chavdas shared in their recent article: "We want to call forth the merciful thumb of God to be released to plug that hole in Jesus Name!"

REFUGEE SUNDAY JUNE 27th

Important email from Global Day of Prayer

image

World Refugee Sunday,

27 June 2010

“I was a stranger and you welcomed me! …Truly I tell you, just as you did it to the least of my brethren you did it to me”

Matthew 25:35,40

Did you know that the number of migrants worldwide would constitute the fifth most populous country in the world?

Did you know that currently there are 26 million displaced persons in at least 52 countries as a result of conflict?

Refugee Sunday is a unique opportunity to pray and support the refugees. This year the two consecutive Sundays in June 20 or 27 – 2010 to be celebrated by the Refugee Highway Partnership in cooperation with the World Evangelical Alliance to raise awareness for the situation of refugees and internally displaced peoples around the world.

Refugees are the people forced to flee their country because they have been persecuted for reasons of race, religion, nationality, political opinion or membership of a particular social group. Today, every second there are people fleeing from their homes and cities seeking safe havens. Around the world, more than 42 million people have no place to call home. Persecution and terror have forced these refugees and internally displaced persons to flee, leaving everything behind. They have lost family members, friends, possessions and the familiar places of their homeland.

Additional information and resources about refugees and displaced persons can be found at the Refugee Highway website:
www.refugeehighway.net or http://zoo.iafr.org/ or write to info@refugeehighway.net.

Refugee Highway Partnership has a REFUGEE SUNDAY FaceBook page to share stories and information on World Refugee Sunday. RHP believes this page will help the churches and individuals to connect with refugee ministries, at the same time to share local success stories, events and images.

The World Evangelical Alliance encourages all the Churches to make use of this unique opportunity to pray and support the refugees and internally displaced communities. They still need our intercession, and praying is still the most effective thing we can do for them.

Contact Persons: Jude Simion, Refugee Highway Partnership. Email:
jude.simion@gmail.com, Sylvia Soon, WEA Chief of Staff. Email: sylvia@worldevangelicals.org

Pray for:

* The basic human needs and rights of displaced people

* Those in power that they may show concern and respect

* Those who work and minister in very difficult conditions

* Grief and loss to be turned to joy

“The stranger who resides with you shall be to you as the native among you, and you shall love him as yourself…” Leviticus 19:34

CONTINUE TO PRAY GOD'S WORD

Let's continue to PRAY with POWER for one another by praying God's WORD, the Bible!

The Power of Praying® Through the Bible

(Paperback - Aug. 1, 2008)

Stormie has many books on PRAYER and there are many others that I used when I began with my passion for praying, interceding and spiritual warfare. My life has been filled with learning to pray but we all know that the Lord's Prayer, spoken by Jesus is the model prayer.

Here are some additional books that I started with:

Prayers That Avail Much: 25th Anniversary Commemorative Gift Edition (Prayers That Avail Much) (Prayers That Avail Much)
though I had the old version, Volume One
Product Details
And the other favorite of mine (my pages are falling out from the use) but soon they just became part of my praying:

Prayers That Prevail: The Believer's Manual of Prayers

It truly is a BELIEVER'S MANUAL and the beginning walks us through the Lord's Prayer as a model...

So now, let's continue to choose scripture and pray, one for another...

"...ALLOW THE HOLY SPIRIT TO MAKE THE WORD A REALITY IN YOUR HEART..."

Prayer does not cause faith to work, but faith causes prayer to work
~ PRAYERS THAT AVAIL MUCH ~

*Remember try to include a scripture and comments should be
PRAYERS LIFTED TO THE THRONE of GOD
(if you have other prayers or requests
please choose another post here)

TOGETHER
our prayers avail much!!!

It's Time to Pray

PRAYER for Our Nation

This was shared in an email from the Presidential Prayer Team:

Declaration of Independence Signer

Samuel Chase
George Washington (1732-1799), 1st President of the United States

"Almighty God: We make our earnest prayer that Thou wilt keep the United States in Thy Holy protection; and Thou wilt incline the hearts of the Citizens to cultivate a spirit of subordination and obedience to Government; and to entertain a brotherly affection and love for one another and for their fellow Citizens of the United States at large, and particularly for their brethren who have served in the Field. And finally that Thou wilt most graciously be pleased to dispose us all to do justice, to love mercy, and to demean ourselves with that Charity, humility, and pacific temper of mind which were the Characteristics of the Divine Author of our blessed Religion, and without a humble imitation of whose example in these things we can never hope to be a happy nation. Grant our supplication we beseech Thee, through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen." --

This prayer of George Washington appears in St. Paul's Chapel in New York City.
