My Adonai

Good Morning, and welcome to "The Lighthouse of Prayer".

We are a fairly new team here, and our concept is based totally on prayer ministry. If this is your first visit, please stop by here and read a little bit about our ministry--how we are joining together to lift others to God in prayer.

This is an interactive blog based on a comment and response system. We'd love to see your prayer requests, praises to God, and others will be supporting you through their prayers written as a response to your comment.

If you have a prayer request, a praise to God, a response to a previous prayer request, please write this in the comments section following the most recent post.

This morning, I'd like to share a little bit about myself. Many of you have been with me a while and know me. There are others of you who do not. So, I'd like to share my testimony with you this morning. Rather than take up space here since I have other things to share with you, you can take a minute to read my testimony here.

God, and God alone has changed my life. I've gone from a frightened woman--fearful of everything for many years, abused, neglected, depressed, angry and bitter--to a woman of strong faith, a pure and true belief in the power of God's might and strength in each of our lives.

God has changed me--a change only possible by my leaning on Him and into Him.

Only God has the power to change things in our lives. We may think that we do this on our own, but we do not. God is always watching, always listening for the voice of His children to speak to Him. Our journey with God is a continual one--ever changing as our walk deepens and continues with Him by our side.

My own personal goal in my journey is to grow deeper in God's love, to ask Him what areas of my life I need to totally surrender to Him and give Him complete control--not me, but God.

I would ask that if you have a prayer request, a praise to God to please feel free to share this today. If you don't feel comfortable leaving your name, that is fine. You are able to leave an anonymous comment also. We will pray with you and for you. If you're visiting someone else's blog, and they have shared something and are requesting prayer, please come and leave this prayer request with us and tell them that you are doing this.

In this way, more and more people will be praying for this person and whatever is on their hearts and minds.

God speaks to me in many ways, and one of ways He uses is music. I know from visiting others' blogs that this is the case with many of us. I'd like to share a video with you this Sunday morning--a song that has impacted my life. After the video, there will by my prayer to my God this morning.

I'm also asking that if you have a particular song that God has used to speak to you, that you share this with us--the name of the song, how it has impacted your life, and a short prayer of thanks to God.

My Adonai,

You have created the entire universe, a beautiful and wondrous place for us to enjoy and see You in Your sunrises, sunsets, the stars, all of nature.

I thank you, Adonai, for bringing me back to You. I was so far away and lost, but you saw me, saw my need for You in my life and used others to bring me back to You. And here I will stay until I see you in Heaven.

I was so afraid, alone--a frightened little girl inside a woman's body. Even though I can't see you, I know You are there, always watching and listening for me, Your child--this child that You love unconditionally. I can feel Your touch in my life daily--guiding me, directing me, embracing me. Yes, You are far away in the Heavens, but still close enough for me to feel You every moment of my life.

You have used me, LORD, to further Your good plans and purposes. I was fearful at first stepping out of my own home--totally out of my comfort zone. But, You encouraged me and now I am Your bold and courageous servant.

I thank You, Lord, for not just letting me stay where I was. You saw me, loved me and freed me from the chains that were holding me back. You taught me to love and trust again, and You have given me the hope I needed in my life when I thought all hope, trust and love were gone from me forever.

Yes, Adonai, I lift up my heart to You and I cry--My Adonai--my Father, my friend, my strength to carry on when I feel I have no more strength in me. You have blessed me in my life beyond my wildest imagination.

I thank You for all these that You have given me so that I could become that bold and courageous servant. I ask that You continue to use me in whatever way You see fit, and always supply me with the courage to say, "Yes, Lord" without hesitation.

I thank you for Your Son, Jesus Christ, My Savior and Redeemer. Where would I be without You in my life?

I will praise Your Holy Name today and forever.

In Jesus' Name,

Your bold and courageous servant,

Beth

Hey praying friends. I'm not sure where to post this request, so I'm just going to put it here and pray it is seen. I've got the request over on my blog, too.

Please pray for my litte 15 month old granddaughter, Savannah. She's a very sick baby with malaria right now (they live in Kenya). Her fever is extremely high right now.

Marsha you posted your request in exactly the right spot.

Dear Heavenly Father, Creator of Heaven and Earth, Divine Healer and Merciful God, Our hearts are burdened with concern for Savannah today. So far away and suffering from malaria and experiencing a high fever at such a young and tender age. Lord, Jehovah-Rapha, our Healing God, we come before Your throne today praising You for protecting this child and giving her the strength to battle this disease and to restore her to comnplete health. We also lift up her family who loves her, and pray that You fill them even this very moment woth peace and assurance that YOU have already sent the angels to watch over them all and the healing is already DONE in heaven. We thank You also Lord for the Praise report that we expect to follow very soon proclaiming Your greatness for the miracle YOU have sent to this precious daughter of Yours.

Abba Father thank You for sending Marsha to our Lighthouse and bless her for believing in You and the power of prayer.

In the name of Jesus, who suffered so we might be healed and saved and LIVE with you forever, AMEN

My Heavenly Father,

I bring Savannah Breeze to Your Throne today. We are most concerned about this little one of Yours who has contracted malaria and has a high fever.

I humbly ask that You heal her Lord, and that in her healing all the praise and glory be Yours.

I ask that you guide the physicians and all that are caring for her with Your wisdom, Your guidance, Lord.

I also lift up to You, Marsha, Savannah's grandmother, so far away from her beloved granddaughter and filled with concern and worry.

Please let her rest in the assurance that You have already started the healing in Savannah. Allow Your peace and comfort to surround Marsha and her entire family. Help them to be intently aware of Your presence at this time.

I thank you, Lord, for Marsha and her total belief in You and the power of prayer to You. Thank you for sending her to us so that we may join her in prayer for Savannah.

You are the creator of the earth and all the universe, in control of everything. We love you, Lord and praise Your Holy Name!!

In Your Son's most precious name,

Amen

Blessings Prayer Team...I left my words with Marsha so this is not a prayer as it should be but I thought all day about "what particular song has God used to speak to me?"

I like Beth feel God speaks to me through music. There are many Christian songs where this is the case but I have one song that spoke to me many years ago and has stayed with me that is not quite a Christian song but I thought of the words in a Christian sense and they
impact my life over and over again.
*******************************
To dream the impossible dream
To fight the unbeatable foe
To bear with unbearable sorrow
To run where the brave dare not go
To right the unrightable wrong
To love pure and chaste from afar
To try when your arms are too weary
To reach the unreachable star

This is my quest
To follow that star
No matter how hopeless
No matter how far
To fight for the right
Without question or pause
To be willing to march into Hell
For a heavenly cause

And I know if I'll only be true
To this glorious quest
That my heart will lie peaceful and calm
When I'm laid to my rest
And the world will be better for this
That one man, scorned and covered with scars
Still strove with his last ounce of courage
To reach the unreachable star
******************************
TO ME, that man...is JESUS, son of God come to earth to show me how to reach beyond myself to dream & live the "impossible" dream and make it possible for others to know Jesus &
that ALL things are possible through Him.

Heavenly Father,
Help me to reach the unreachable!

Help me to see the "stars".

Help me to see each person's potential and what gift You have placed in them to share & have purpose here.

Fill me with Your Grace to fight the unbeatable foe. Keep be vigilant! Help me to remember that we do not fight against any person but against spiritual powers, principalities & forces of spiritual darkness that overcome.
Help me to love the sinner but hate only the sin, and to distinguish them.

Give me Your strength to bear the unbearable sorrow...which is my weakness, Lord...that I allow this to overwhelm me and I despair. When I am weak, You are strong. Show Your strength around me clearly at all times. Keep me ever aware & ready to bear one another's burden with others to be a source of encouragement.

Guide my feet as I run where the brave dare not go, where I dare not go...but give me spiritual wisdom & discernment in each step that I may be in Your will.

Continue to help me right wrongs!
Allow me to LOVE pure and chaste from afar!

When I am too weary, let me lean on You! When others are too weary, show me how to bring them Your strength and support their arms to raise them in praise to You!

This is my quest Lord...to seek justice for the many injustices, to show compassion to the many forgotten, to stand firm in Your Word & know the Truth of Your Word
to teach & share with others through my failures and my successes.

May I be willing as You were Lord Jesus to march into hell for a heavenly cause. So by that when my time has come to an end, You will say...well done, my good and faithful servant. May I only be true to Your glorious quest...that all others will fall and be still
to Your reign & glory & power in me. Come Holy Spirit flow through me!

Tonight & each day, may my heart lie peaceful and calm in You. May I be still enough to hear Your Voice alone even as a whisper. Make me sensitive to Your Spirit!

I pray that the world will be better for this that Jesus came to set them free and save them with a promise of an eternal life, that they would open their eyes & ears,
and hardened hearts to accept Christ as Lord in their lives.

Thank You Jesus, for Your scars & that You were scorned until Your last ounce of human courage when You became the sacrifice & paid my debt with Your precious death... Thank You that You conquered death & rose again to free us all from death & the grave clothes! You breathed a New Life into us when we answered, Yes Lord...Here am I...
Save me a sinner, wash me in Your righteousness, Deliver me from all evil...in Your Precious Name.

Heavenly Father,

Once more we come before Your Throne on behalf of Savannah!
Thank You that healing power flows from that throne daily and You do have a desire to heal your people especially innocent children. Clearly, Lord...You love the little children for You said, "Let the little children come unto me" and
that we must become like little children. Savannah needs Your Healing touch. Savannah's family needs Your Holy Comforter & much wisdom & peace as they deal with this in a far away place in Africa.
Africa is not the same as home, Lord! Honor their service to You O Lord and provide them with the proper medical attention & care.
You are Savannah's Great Physician!
All healing comes from You and through the medical vessels You give us. Your Word says that healing is Your children's bread.
It says that You are the God that heals Savannah and by Your stripes Savannah is healed. Break these high temperatures Lord in Jesus'
Name. Through Your power and authority, we claim that the malaria in Savannah departs from her now with Your supernatural healing power. Your Words, Your breath, Your Grace is enough.
Breathe fresh strength into her little body today. Rebuild her
immune system and energy to fight off this sickness. There is a balm in Gilead, Lord and You are the Holy One that can restore & heal.
We claim Your Promises in Your Word! We seek Your Kingdom & justice first, so we can have all these things added to us, given to us...not by our might, or even prayer but my Your Spirit. Send healing on the wings of Your Spirit
to Savannah. Do not allow this affliction to remain or cause her any further problems. Our hope & trust is in You, Lord. And we praise You and believe You are at work right now in Africa & in Savannah. Thank You for being health to her and healing Savannah.
Glory be to Your Name forever and ever!

Thank you all for praying for our precious little 15 month old granddaughter Savannah. I just got off the phone with my daughter Laura in Kenya and her fever broke today. She is resting comfortably, a little fussy and whiny, but she'll be fine. She's been sleeping a good part of the day (it's night there now). Tomorrow she will probably wake up wanting more yummy chocolate pudding she had a taste of for the first time last week! When her mommy told her that her Marmi said she should give her some chocolate pudding, she sat up and smiled!

Thank you for your continued prayers for her recovery. With the fever gone, the worst is over. Now it's a case of gaining strenth.

Father,

I come to you today to offer praises to You!!

You have restored a relationship that has been weighing heavily upon a friend of mine!! She has been praying for this restoration for many years, and now her son has returned to her in a relationship formed and guided by You!!

I also come today to thank you for the healing of Marsha's granddaughter Savannah!! Her fever is down, she is improving daily! Give her the strength to fight the battle of malaria, and I pray that this disease has no lingering effects on her.

Thank you, God, for always listening to our prayers and answering them in Your perfect timing!

I'm also bringing my friends to Your Throne today. These friends are a great part of my spiritual family, and their daughter has recently experienced the loss of her friend--a young girl at the age of 17 taken from this life to rest in Your arms after fighting a long battle with leukemia.

I ask that You bring Your peace and comfort to my friends and their daughter. They know and love You, Lord. Help them to seek You in the comforting of their daughter's loss.

I pray that you will fill this young girl with Your peace as she goes through the grieving for her young friend. Fill her with the knowledge that her friend is in Your arms, no longer fighting a battle and has come home.

I also ask for Your comfort, Your loving embrace for the family of the young girl who has now come home to You. She is joining her sister who has already come home to You, also resting with You from the ravages of leukemia.

Bless this family, Lord, and let them seek You in all ways during this very difficult time for them. Give them the blessed assurance that their two daughters are now in peace with You--no more pain, no more struggles--but fully in Your presence. They have come home to You, Lord.

I thank you for the knowledge that rests in my heart that these two young girls are at peace with You.

I love you, praise you, and call upon Your Holy Name in all things, Lord!!

In Jesus' Name, I pray,

Amen

PRAYER for Our Nation

This was shared in an email from the Presidential Prayer Team:

Declaration of Independence Signer

Samuel Chase
George Washington (1732-1799), 1st President of the United States

"Almighty God: We make our earnest prayer that Thou wilt keep the United States in Thy Holy protection; and Thou wilt incline the hearts of the Citizens to cultivate a spirit of subordination and obedience to Government; and to entertain a brotherly affection and love for one another and for their fellow Citizens of the United States at large, and particularly for their brethren who have served in the Field. And finally that Thou wilt most graciously be pleased to dispose us all to do justice, to love mercy, and to demean ourselves with that Charity, humility, and pacific temper of mind which were the Characteristics of the Divine Author of our blessed Religion, and without a humble imitation of whose example in these things we can never hope to be a happy nation. Grant our supplication we beseech Thee, through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen." --

This prayer of George Washington appears in St. Paul's Chapel in New York City.
