Many of us have experienced & weathered through storms in our lives. My favorite author, Max Lucado, has written a book entitled "In the Eye of the Storm" back in 1991 but the truths he shared still "hold water"(forgive my pun) in the storms of today. His main point is that you can be assured that within every torrent, there is a calm center...the eye of the storm.
So according to Max, "there is no storm strong enough to tear you away from your Source of Strength. No pain can hide the Savior from you. No disappointment can derail your journey to the Father. It's a matter of will ~ that continual leap of faith you make when your spirit is bruised."
Then he shares some reminders ~ a collection of "lighthouses" pointing the way to your Source of Strength. I have not had time to reread ALL that I wanted to share from Max's great writings, but I felt I must begin putting down some of my thoughts as I venture through the "waters" or look at past "storms" in my life and the ROCK I now stand on.
For some of us, this journey has been long, very long and stormy. In no way, do I wish to minimize or make light the difficulties that many of us have had to face along life's journey. It is so hard for some of us to see the Light (from the Lighthouse) in the midst of the storm, but we must forge ahead and press on, keep searching & moving forward towards the LIGHT!
Max reminded me that "God never said the journey would be easy, but He did say the arrival would be worthwhile." It is worth it!!!
In the left sidebar, is a bookmark from this book and if you click on it, not only can you read the fine print but you will be able to read a fine devotional by Max Lucado and can even download "The Laws of the Lighthouse". These are not merely opinions, ideas or preferences but God-given, time tested Truths that define how you should navigate your life. I don't know about you or where your life has "your lifeboat" but I'm tired of crashing against the rocks because I have ignored or not followed the signals, signs, warnings or the Light He gives me as a guide. Observing these gives me safe passage. Jesus told His disciples, "I am the Way, the Truth and the Life." His Life leads us into the Light from the darkness that overwhelms us at times. A wise captain of a ship follows the signals of the LIGHTHOUSE! Our storm may be His Path!
Read Matthew 14:13-36 specifically 22-36.
Has God ever used a storm "as His path to come to you"? Think about this.
What is your usual response in a storm? Do you find it easier to sit in the tossing boat than to step out into the water and walk in faith toward Jesus?

I am bringing this hear my beloved prayer warriors. My heart is very heavy, tears have welled up. I 'met' a precious sister in the Lord last week. She had redicated her life and started a blog. We had been emailing back and forth on the weekend.
The Holy Spirit was really placing her on my heart these last two days, I emailed her, no replies back. Checked her blog and found out it was closed down. I put up a post asking for prayer at my blog, and have brought the prayer here..Please pray with me.
Could you all please pray for Submissive Sweet . Her blog has been removed.
Father God, I lift up my precious sister, Your beloved daugther to Your throne. You have called us to come boldly to Your throne where we are able to receive grace and mercy in our time of need.
I bring my sister to You Lord. You KNOW her needs. You KNOW what is going on right now. You KNOW everything. Father, I cover her with the blood of Jesus Christ, I plead His blood upon her and against all the powers of the enemy. I draw the blood line Father God upon her and her surroundings. In the Name of Jesus Christ, I apply the keeping power of the blood of Jesus upon Caroline and her family.
Father, touch her mind, touch her heart, bless her lavishly. Let her sense You in her life right now. Let her feel Your lavish love pouring down upon her, from the top of her head to the tip of her toes. Heal my precious sister and she will be healed. Save her oh Lord and she will be saved for You are the One we praise.
Come Jesus, come and minister to her, let her know she is loved, she is cherished and she is the apple of God's eye, a beautiful crown of splendor in God's right hand.
Holy Spirit, You are her Comforter, Counselor, Helper, Intercessor, Advocate, Strengthener, Standby and teaching her all things. Holy Spirit, thank You for placing her on my heart this morning and not letting it go until I came here to pray for her.

My Father,
I join Angela in her prayer for Caroline. You have led Caroline to Angela, and she is concerned for her friend.
We do not know what is happening with her, Lord, but You do for You are all knowing, all powerful.
I pray that she remain safe in Your arms, draw her close to You, Lord. She has rededicated her life to You and we pray that You show her Your love for her in all ways.
Keep her faith in You strong and show her that You are always there for her, no matter what else is occurring in her life.
I also pray for comfort and peace for Angela in this, Lord. Help her to feel Your peace, Your comfort, Your arms embracing her as she prays about her friend, Caroline.
I pray that Caroline reaches out to Angela to let her know that is doing well, that she is fine and trusting in You.
I thank you, Father, for placing Angela's friend upon her heart and for bringing her here so that we may pray with her for her friend.
Reassure both Angela and Caroline with Your ever steady faithfulness and love,
and pour Your blessing upon both of them, Lord.
We love you, our Father. We praise You even in the storms of our lives. Help us to step out of the boat and into the waves, trusting that You will uphold us, uplift us, encourage us to continue in our love and trust in You.
You have shown us Your great love for us through the sacrifice of Your son, Jesus, the Prince of Peace. Bring Your peace to Angela and Caroline this day.
Show us the way, Lord. Light our paths with Your righteousness always!!

Dear heavenly Father, thank You for leading Angela here to request prayer for her new friend Caroline. Father, we do not know the reason for Caroline closing her blog, and not returning emails, but You know the reason. Caroline had just rededicated her life to You Father, please love on her, and keep her safe. Amen
Father I praise You for answer to prayer. I praise You for Your faithfulness. After writing this prayer request here at Lighthouse, I went to my email box, and there it was, an email from Caroline. Father, how precious are Your thoughts towards her. Thank You for the good work that You started in her, You WILL complete. Thank You so much for these mighty prayer warriors who have stood in the gap with me for Caroline. Thank You Father for hearing our cries and for answering them. You are the King of kings and the Lord of lords and those that hope in You will never be disappointed.

We thank You for sparing Dr. Pierce and plead with You to bring more healing to him. Surround his family with comfort, strength, peace and HOPE! Continue to protect them all!
Give wisdom to all the medical personnel attending to him. Bring miracles to Dr. Pierce! Remove his pain & help him to continue the good fight! He must not die because he has much to do for You. Continue to pursue justice in this & disclose not only WHO but WHY so the community can rest safely. Touch Dr. Pierce & this pneumonia now in Jesus Name, he has dealt with so much & with all the impending surgeries yet to be done,
He needs Your strength, He needs Your Healing Power, He needs Your holy anointing to flow through Him from the top of his head to the bottom of his foot! He is Yours & You are His and we commit His healing to the stripes You paid

I pray for safety & protection for everyone from the outreach workers to the city police and all personnel. I ask for a special hedge of protection around them.
I ask for You to lead and direct many to being open & receptive.
I come against the carnal behaviors and ask that You break the chains of captivity over the many lives that are lost and living without You! I thank You for breaking through apathy and releasing compassion. May we have eyes to see each individual as Your child with a purpose other than what we see.

and revive Your Spirit, calling them to reaching their city for Jesus! Take away any hindrances, or attitudes that others can do it and ignite Your Spirit of "can do" in each person. I bless You for the many opportunities to reach souls for Jesus & lives that will be changed! Thank You Most Holy Savior, meet each person this day right where they are and draw them closer to You so we each want more of You & less of ourselves. Increase our desire for Your Word & fellowship with one another, where we truly bear one another's burden & love as You have commanded! My Father,
I come to You today to ask for healing for my daughter, Cara. She is ill with her asthma again, Lord. You know that this time of year is so hard for her, and she ends up in the hospital year after year.
She seemed to be doing better, and now has taken a turn for the worse.
Her asthma is acting up again. She is back on steroids to help reduce the inflammation in her lungs. Helpful for the lungs--bad her her diabetes.
I pray, Lord, that You place Your healing hands upon her and bring her through this most recent asthma flare up without hospitalization.
I pray that her breathing be eased, that she be able to draw full breath without struggling, that her coughing be subsided so that she may rest.
You know me, Lord, You know my Cara, and all of these things that I'm talking to You about. You already know, but I need to talk to You about her.
She is far from You, just like I used to be. She doesn't listen to the doctor's words of advice and take heed to them.
I come to You today to ask that You not only heal of her this illness, but also use this time to draw her close to You. She needs You so much in her life, and she just doesn't know!!
Let her feel Your hands upon her as she rests and heals from this. And give me comfort in knowing that even though she is far from You that You are with her every moment of every day, watching over her and keeping her safe and secure in Your love.
Lord, I ask that Cara be given the strength to stop smoking once and for all. You know, You know how she struggles with this--quits when she is ill and then gradually restarts again. She knows that she shouldn't smoke, but always turns back to this addiction. Free her from this, Lord!!
I know that You love my children, all 3 of them, and yet they remain so far from You. Use me so they me see Your love for them through me. Surround them with those that love You also so that they may see You at work in others' lives.
I pray that You bring them to You, Father, each of them in Your time. I am firm in my belief that this will happen, and God, I just want this to happen now. Help me to be patient and realize that when the timing is just right, that You will bring them to You.
I love you, My Father, My Precious Jesus. Bring Your healing power to Cara in her illness, and to all 3 of my children--heal them from their hurts from the past. It breaks me, Lord, breaks me, to realize that they are still holding on to things from their past, hurtful things. And I pray that they be able to let go of these things, put them behind and move on to realize their purpose in You.

Dear heavenly Father, I come to You on behalf of my dear friend Beth, her daughter Cara is very sick due to her asthma. Lord, please touch her with healing hands, take this from her. She also has diabetes Lord, which can be affected by everything, please keep her diabetes under control. I ask that You take from Cara the desire to smoke, so she can be more healthy. I ask all these things in Your precious name Lord. I love You.
