PRAYING WITH YOU or FOR YOU!

I recently read this "Teaching that Transforms" by Wayne Dillard from Prayer Central on

It capsulizes the attributes of prayer. I want to share them here to help you as Wayne commented to keep the pressures of life in perspective when you think or feel that you don't have time to pray. Please click & be linked to PrayerCentral to read in full. Look over this list at such a time as this and maybe you will decide that you can cut something else out of your schedule instead of prayer.
  1. POWER of PRAYER (Ps. 62:11; Ps. 68:35; Is. 40:29)
  2. PRESENCE of PRAYER (Jn 14:23; Jn.15:15; Eph. 2:13)
  3. PRIVILEGE of PRAYER (Heb.10:19-22; Mrk 11:24; Ps. 145:18-19)
  4. PEACE of PRAYER (Is.26:3; Phil.4:6-7; Romans 8:6)
  5. PRECIOUSNESS of PRAYER (Ps.139:17; Hebrews 4:14-16; Duet. 4:7)
  6. PROVISION of PRAYER ( 1 Jn.3:22; Matt. 21:22; Jn. 16:24)
  7. PROTECTION of PRAYER (Ps.91:1; Ps. 18:2; Ps.71:3)
Do you need God's peace? His power? His prosperity?

Is prayer precious to you? Enough that it's #1 on your To Do list.

Do you know someone that really could use you bringing a prayer for them here?

Since this is a place of prayer rather than just a "blog" about our journey in faith or daily diversions, I thought that people would daily stop by and offer a prayer; a prayer for a friend in need, a special prayer request, a joyful praise, a grateful heart of thanks, or just a daily greeting.

But there are just a few faithful that share here and I have to wonder: where are all the prayers? where are the prayers that people say "I'm praying for you"? How can we start our day without prayer?

I don't think that because you don't stop by here and write out a prayer or prayer request that you aren't praying but it does make me wonder what priority it takes to other tasks in the blogosphere. It does not have to be alot or a long prayer. I thank each of you who DO come here and leave a prayer. I thank God for the recent ones that have joined us. God bless you!

I encourage you to take time each day to worship Our LORD! Spend time in prayer. Drop by and leave a short prayer for someone and let them know you wrote a prayer for them over at the Lighthouse. Make it a practice to share one another's burdens. Here is a place where we can join forces.

Though one may be overpowered, two can defend themselves. A cord of three strands is not quickly broken. Ecclesiastes 4:12

Five of you shall chase a hundred, and a hundred of you shall put ten thousand to flight; your enemies shall fall by the sword before you." Leviticus 26:3
Let's receive these "P's" of Prayer as a value statement for our time and energies. Let them motivate us to put time with God in it's proper place, and become a witness of His peace and power.
A Lighthouse is two or more people who have agreed to reach their neighborhood, workplace, school  or in our case BLOG FRIENDS through a strategy of prayer, care, share. Anywhere you are, you can be a Lighthouse. As you live out the Lighthouse strategy to your neighbors, God will open up doors of opportunity for to share your faith -- giving them an opportunity to know Jesus Christ. Come join us & spread the word about Shining the light of Jesus by lifting a prayer to the Throne, right here with us. Thank you for sharing our hearts!
Thank you for caring to share a prayer here! Thank you for leaving your prayer or request.

Be sure to read the new version of "Footprints" over at "The Power of Your Love" here from April 5th, 2009.

Just this week I found Prayer Central! What a wonderful site!

Peggy, I can't believe it's been ten years since Columbine. So much has happened since then. That single event catapalted so much more violence. We need to continue to pray for our families and youth today.

And Denise, I'll be going over to Andrea's right now to see how I can pray for her request.

My Father,

I thank you for always being here for me. Where would I be without you? In the depths, in the mire, floundering with no direction.

And yet, this past week or so, that is where I am finding myself--floundering.

Why?

Too much to do, not enough time, too many people pressing in on me for my time and attention, stress, crying, sleeplessness, my job..oh, the list could go on and on.

But, you know what is in my heart and mind. You know that I am crying out to You for Your peace to surround me once again.

See me through these storms for I cannot do it alone. Carry me, Lord, carry me. I don't have the strength and I must lean harder and harder on You. My strength is waning moment by moment. My anxiety is increasing.

I feel lost and alone in the midst of many people around me.

Help me to feel Your presence in my life, my day to day moments. Help me to hear Your voice, Your majestic whispers to me throughout my days--especially at my work where there is much stress and turmoil.

Lead me in the direction You want me to go. I go there every day, and I'm still not sure if this is where I am supposed to be.

I just want to lean on Your shoulder and cry, and I thank you letting me do that.

I don't want to stay in this place of crying. I want to be strong in You. But, right now, I am weak and need You to carry me through.

In Jesus' Name (thank you, Jesus)

Your daughter,

Beth

Dear heavenly Father, I come to You today, lifting up my sweet friend Beth. Father, she is so faithful to You, and loves You so very much. She is feeling weary from the storms of life that are beating upon her door, tears are flowing from her eyes, her heart is heavy. I ask that You please dry her tears, and give her strength to carry on. Wrap Your arms of comfort around her, love on her Father. Carry her, until she can walk strongly again Father. I love You Father. Amen

Please change their hearts Father. I love You. Amen

ABBA...Father...I am speechless & my heart is so heavy for Beth, for Denise and for myself. I join in one accord with Denise's prayers.

Ohhh Father, we cry out to You to make a way for our loved ones, family & friends to know You!
may their eyes be opened to their need for a Savior! May they come quickly Lord. Please put people in their lives that can be a witness & surround them with Your Holy Spirit. I thank You Lord that we stand together lifting their sould to You. Save them O Lord as You graciously saved us, was our sins and cleanse us. Give us words to speak without being an obstacle or preaching. May our lives we a witness. Transform us into Your image more today so that they will want what we have & see JESUS!

Thank You LORD for each one that You touch & draw closer today.
Remove Beth from this spirit of heaviness & restore her to a right spirit in You! Give her supernatural strength today wherever she is and whatever she does, may she sense Your Holy Spirit filling her to be equipped & used by You as an instrument. Bless her Lord! Release that stress & dread and despair. Put Your garment of praise upon her & build her up when she is weighted down. Change her work environment & make people step up to their responsibility & carry their weight as each worker works as a team. Remove the burden from Beth & her friend. Open a window & let Beth know & follow Your voice & Your will in this.
Thank You that she has a job but she desires to be in a place that glorifies You or at least she can work in peace. When she returns to her home, let her find the peace she desires there, that she moved there for...bring understanding, patience, peace, goodness, kindness & may Your love shine through the heaviness & the darkness. Thank You for the nature that surrounds her home! May that always bring her closer to You, her Maker & Creator!

We give this to You & ask You to be the wings beneath her in Jesus Name. Carry Beth & help her to lean on You! Thank You for Beth & the friend she is!!!

Thank You for Denise and the friend that she is!!!

We love You, LORD! May we have more of YOU today & may we decrease as You increase! Hearts changed! Love remains! Thank YOU!

We give You all glory, honor & praise every day!

And we say "YES" LORD ...bring these sheep to You. May they hear Your call today.

Abba,

I come to You this morning with thanks. Thank You for supportive friends, my spiritual family, who pray for me and care for me, encouraging me along in my journey with You.

Thanks to these friends, I feel uplifted today, certain that all things are in Your control and will be done according to Your Will. I know that Your plans for me may have some storms in them, but these storms only draw me closer and closer to You, leaning harder and harder on You.

I know, Lord, that I have sinned against You in many ways--some deliberate going astray from Your ways. I ask that You forgive me and remind me of these times so that I don't continue to do the same wrongdoings over and over.

I ask that You continually whisper to me while I am in my workplace and allow me to hear Your voice above all the others that are clamoring around me. Guide me, especially there, in Your ways and Your will for this place. If this is where I am to be planted for this time, then help me to bloom as a flower to You--not a weed that will overgrow Your garden.

I come today with three particular people in my heart and mind.

First, is my daughter, Cara. She knows of You, Lord, but has no relationship with You. She is seeking, questioning. Help me to be Your voice, a picture of You shining through me to her so that she may come to accept and love You.

Cara goes today to a doctor's appointment. She is visiting the doctor for high risk pregnancies. I pray that all be well with Cara and her little one. She is nervous and anxious about this appointment. I ask that You fill her and ease her anxieties and fears. This little one is a blessing to us from You, and I ask that You protect Cara, keep her well and healthy during her pregnancy.

Guide her doctors with Your wisdom in her care so that her own underlying health problems can be managed well during this time--keeping her and the baby safe and sound in Your care.

I also bring to You my friends Jim and Rod. They are both suffering from health problems at this time and both are waiting for appointments with specialists for another few weeks.

I ask that You also guide their doctors with Your wisdom and fill Jim and Rod with the certainty that You are in control of both of their situations. Grant them patience in their waiting time and ease any anxieties that either of them may feel.

I love you, Lord, with all my heart, all my soul, all my strength, all my mind.

Help me to show others Your great love so that they may be brought to You and know Your unconditional love for them. They are wandering, Lord, just wandering and searching in all the wrong places.

Fill them with Your love for them so that they wander no more and only seek Your face in every decision, every moment of their lives.

In Jesus' MOST Precious Name,

Amen

Please continue to watch over her Father. I am lifting Cara and her precious unborn child up to You Father. Please keep them safe, and healthy. I pray that Cara falls on her knees, and seeks You Father. I pray for Jim, and Rod, please take care of them Father. I love You so very much. Amen

I totally connected with what you said about blog land and the priority of prayer. I ask God at times about my Fearless Friday, where I ask others to join me in standing in the gap for others and for their own prayer requests. A hand full will join in...and I question,,isn't prayer a priority? I continue to give that over to the Lord,,and WILL NOT stop praying and seeking our Lord..

Father God, I thank You for this precious gift of prayer. This lavish gift that You have bestowed upon us. Where we can come each and every day to Your throne with all boldness to receive grace and mercy in our time of need.

Father God, I thank You for hearing our prayers, seeing the tears we have shed, the fear we struggle with and the anxiety that tries to consume us. Not only do You see it Father God, but You in Your great mercy and compassion, lavish us with Your peace which transcends all understanding.

I thank You for answering prayer. For not forsaking us in the pit, but lifting us up.

I plead the blood of Jesus Christ upon us Father God and against all the powers of the enemy. I draw the blood line. In the Name of Jesus Christ I plead the blood of Jesus Christ upon Your children and their surroundings...

amen amen amen

Praise Report on baby Skylar, from Marshas blog: Laura called and the fluid drained naturally on its own. They took lots of pictures from the ultrasound and compared them to textbook examples and everything looks perfect! Baby Skylar is perfectly fine.

We are all rejoicing and blessed by God's gracious, meriful, healing hand. Although the parent/grandparent in us is sad in one way we don't get to see our family for 11 more months, we are abundantly blessed that Skylar will not need surgery and that they will be able to continue with their ministry in Kenya as planned.

Thank you for praying along with us. Y'all are precious sisters in the Lord.

Prayer requests for Marsha from Marshas Musings: There is a lot of “stuff” going on with my family right now. I’m feeling like we are under attack.

~ Mike been ill.

~ The uncertainty of whether or not there was a problem with baby Skylar – praise God for a great response there!

~ My grandson, Logan, burned his hand the other day.

~ Daughter Missy is sick.

~ Son Adam is sick.

~ Laura and Travis return from Nairobi to find they were robbed! They lost computers (complete with pictures from the past 3 years), tools, blankets and a small safe. Total loss ~ $14,000! They feel betrayed by the friend that did this and Laura is concerned about being at the house by herself while Travis and the police and another missionary go out and hunt him down.

~ And now my step-dad is back in the hospital. His health is failing. Even on dialysis he’s retaining water. His memory is deteriorating. He can’t seem to stand or walk even with the walker. They are considering a possible mini stroke. Now I sit and wait before I head back home again. He’s ready to go. It’s just tough being at this stage.
Father, I lift up all these needs to You. Please have Your way, and Your will in each of these situations. I love You Father. Amen

Almighty Father, I come and join my prayers with Bernice on behalf of her own kids & the kids in the neighborhood & their parents.

Lord, thank You that you have brought her openly confessing her impatience & asking for Your grace
& guidance with her children.

Lord, may all parents have their eyes open and see their children as You see them. Put a hedge of protection around the children!
Keep them from harm & evil. Give Bernice the wisdom & Your words to instruct them!

We commit these 2 pastors of her church to You, lead them LORD in guiding the flock when they were suddenly put in headship due to the unexpectant death. Guard them, encourage them, protect & give them Your wisdom in how to lead. Comfort them. We come against the enemy and any plans he may have to bring destruction with the Word that You say You have a plan to prosper & not harm. Keep them from lack of harmony in the church & lead them as You want their church to be in unity seeking Your plan & heart.

LORD, You are a just God. Justice goes before You & flows from You!
May this business court case be in Your hands for fair & quick resolve. Keep them in peace & may their lawyer have all the wisdom needed. Guide & direct in Jesus' name.

Yes, LORD everything is in Your hands! You, God are in control. Take complete control over Bernice's needs especially in finances. You are her Jehovah Jireh. Bring prosperity & favor
to bless the work of their hands as they give unto You may it be given to them! Provide LORD just what they need and we give You thanks!
You own everything! We belong to You & trust as You take care of us daily...give us our bread & forgive us our debts as we forgive our debtors...leads us in Your path of righteousness & keep us all from temptation & harm according to Your promises. We bless & thank You for being here in our midst...as two or three gather in Your Name! We thank You & give You praise & all the glory! Bless the Name of Jesus!
Thank You for the blood that covers our iniquities & cleanses us from all wrongs. If we confess our sins, You are faithful & just to forgive us our sins & cleanse us from unrighteousness. Purify us LORD.
Be with us as You refine us in Jesus' name, I pray...

Hello Marsha's Musings followers. This is Missy, Marsha's daughter.
I wanted to let you all know that Mom is on her way now, (Sunday night) to PA.
She is driving by herself at this late hour, so please pray for her, for her safety, coherentnance, and peace of mind.
My Grandpa, her step-father, Chris, is fast approaching the end of his stay on this earth. It seems that the Lord has chosen these next hours to finally bring Him home.
Please pray for him, that his passing will be smooth, and that he will rest comfortably knowing that he will soon be with His Savior.
Pray for Nana, Mom's mom, Eleanor, as she says goodbye to her husband of 31 years.
I pray that Mom is able to get there in time to be with her at his passing.

Mom asked me to let you all know of this because she knows you will pray.
I will update you tomorrow or sooner if necessary.
I know she covets your prayers.

God Bless,
Missy Dear heavenly Father, I lift up Marsha and Michele to You. Their stepfather Chris is preparing to come home to You. Help this family during this time, be close by their side. Give them the peace that surpasses all understanding. I love You Father. Amen

PRAYER for Our Nation

This was shared in an email from the Presidential Prayer Team:

Declaration of Independence Signer

Samuel Chase
George Washington (1732-1799), 1st President of the United States

"Almighty God: We make our earnest prayer that Thou wilt keep the United States in Thy Holy protection; and Thou wilt incline the hearts of the Citizens to cultivate a spirit of subordination and obedience to Government; and to entertain a brotherly affection and love for one another and for their fellow Citizens of the United States at large, and particularly for their brethren who have served in the Field. And finally that Thou wilt most graciously be pleased to dispose us all to do justice, to love mercy, and to demean ourselves with that Charity, humility, and pacific temper of mind which were the Characteristics of the Divine Author of our blessed Religion, and without a humble imitation of whose example in these things we can never hope to be a happy nation. Grant our supplication we beseech Thee, through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen." --

This prayer of George Washington appears in St. Paul's Chapel in New York City.
