Emergency Prayer Alert: Gulf State Governors Call for Prayer Tomorrow—SUNDAY

From the desk of Steve Shultz:

It is extremely rare that governors of any state, much less all the gulf states, agree in prayer and call for a day of fasting for a problem—even a SET of problems that they cannot solve. Not only is this oil spill unstoppable by man, but a harsh weather system may be headed for the Gulf which would cause further damage.

The oil must be stopped and beyond that, a tropical depression would cause man to halt all of their own efforts for up to two weeks. Please join with the governors in these gulf states in a day of prayer and fasting.

The Chavdas wrote a recent article on the Gulf Oil Spill(http://www.elijahlist.com/words/display_word/8861) that my good friend James Goll shared on his website as well. I found it interesting that James shared this concerning Bob Jones: "I talked with Seer Prophet Bob Jones and he stated that the Lord showed him in 1997, that after Oral Roberts would go home to be with the Lord, there would be an oil spill disaster in the Gulf of Mexico that only the 'thumb of God' could stop."

As the Chavdas shared in their recent article: "We want to call forth the merciful thumb of God to be released to plug that hole in Jesus Name!"

Father, I lift this need to Your care. Once again, man can only go so far until we realize that we are so incapable without You. Lord, You know the needs that are happening due to this oil spill. You know the families affected with loss of work and so many other environmental issues. Father, I ask that You continue to extend your mercy and provision. Bring peace to the hearts of all involved. Stir Your children to continue to pray across the globe.

Lord, thank You for pointing out Peggy's words on this post, "The oil cannot be stopped." Although this is not a good thing, it brought to my mind how the Oil of Your Spirit cannot be stopped either. Although I pray that the natural oil is stopped, I pray that Your Oil is poured upon all. Through this very disaster intended for evil, I ask that You use it for good and reveal to man how much we must rely on You and how Your purposes and Your reign will never be stopped. May Your Kingdom come and Your will be done. Even so now, come Lord Jesus. Use it all for Your glory.

In the mighty name of Jesus Christ I pray. Amen!

Thank You Father for this powerful, insightful Word from One Heart and prayer for this crisis!

I was overwhelmed as I sought a photo to share by all I saw and the devastation I have heard from the many lives affected horrendously by this!

My heart aches, O Lord for all of these families, for all of the wildlife both on land and sea and for the livelihood of so many.
For the initial lives lost...we lift those families to You for Your Comfort and Peace. Provide for them and use others to reach out to them with the love of Jesus!

Father, I was lost as to how I should pray as I looked at this prayer alert. I thank You for shaking up of the governors to make this proclamation and declare this day, a day of prayer & fasting. May the "church" rise up to this call.
May our nation rise up and join in this prayer. May we humble ourselves before You as a nation and declare that You reign. You are still on the Throne, reigning over heaven and earth.

So we cry out! Father forgive us!

Stop this destruction and give us Your wisdom to stop this oil spill & further destruction. Hold back the storms! Hold back further impact! Pour out Your mercy & kindness upon this Gulf area and RESCUE the many that need Your Oil of gladness, Your Oil of Fresh anointing, Your Oil of healing!

As You bring us to our knees, may we see this as a strong reminder how we are powerless and we must submit to Your will and Your Way.
Make our ears attentive to the warnings! Free us and our leaders from greed, pride, power control,
and whatever is keeping them from seeking You, Your heart, Your Will.
May our leadership hear only Your voice! May You speak loudly to those in authority that they need You, and should seek You first & Your wisdom & guidance. Weed out all that is not of You! We come against all principalities that are exalting themselves above You! You alone are God! You alone are LORD!
You alone are the Most High! You are the Almighty, Everlasting King of kings and every knee shall bow to You & confess You as Lord. You are in control. You reign in the USA and this entire Gulf area. You are the Creator of all! Bring a restoration and revival to repentant hearts! Help us each to repent for the sins of our nation, for our own sins, our own selfish acts, our own grievances against
You and others!

I stand in agreement with my sister in Christ and pray this in the beloved Name of Jesus to be glorified and exalted, even in the midst of this extreme disaster!
Protect all involved in the clean up & send in the laborers needed in Jesus Name...

Governor Perry stated-" It seems right and fitting that the people of Texas should join with their fellow Gulf Coast residents and others across the country and around the world to thank God, seek his wisdom for ourselves and our leaders, and ask him for his merciful intervention and healing in this time of crisis."

Alabama Governor Bob Riley said-"Throughout our history, Alabamians have humbly turned to God to ask for His blessings and to hold us steady during times of struggle. This is certainly one of those times."

Mississippi Governor Haley Barbour wrote-" Prayer allows us the opportunity to reflect and seek guidance, strength, comfort and inspiration from Almighty God and citizens of Mississippi are urged to pray....."

Louisiana Governor Bobby Jindal declared-"June 27th as a Statewide Day of Prayer for perseverance "

MY prayer agrees with each of these AND that our Government will not politicize this tragedy nor nationalize this industry. May God give supernatural wisdom and strategy to those working to repair and to restore. May God pour His love and grace upon the families who have lost loved ones. May our nation re-awaken to God's love revealed through His Son Jesus Christ and to His righteousness and justice revealed through His Word, the Christian Scriptures.

"I have lived, Sir, a long time, and the longer I live, the more convincing proofs I see of this truth-that God governs in the affairs of men." --Benjamin Franklin

May the "leak" be repaired, economic freedom preserved, the environment restored, families healed and nations unified through this in spite of its horrific scope. May Church and State agree that we need a miracle !

Dear heavenly Father, our hearts are crying out to You. The oil spill is so far beyond devastating. I hurt so bad for the people affected, losing their jobs because of this. I hurt for the precious ocean life affected, their homes a black oily mess, seeping onto their bodies. You created a beautiful world, and we have come along, and destroyed it,turned beauty into ugliness. Forgive us Father. Please help us work together to correct our mitakes before it is to late. Heal our land Father. We love You. Amen

PRAYER for Our Nation

This was shared in an email from the Presidential Prayer Team:

Declaration of Independence Signer

Samuel Chase
George Washington (1732-1799), 1st President of the United States

"Almighty God: We make our earnest prayer that Thou wilt keep the United States in Thy Holy protection; and Thou wilt incline the hearts of the Citizens to cultivate a spirit of subordination and obedience to Government; and to entertain a brotherly affection and love for one another and for their fellow Citizens of the United States at large, and particularly for their brethren who have served in the Field. And finally that Thou wilt most graciously be pleased to dispose us all to do justice, to love mercy, and to demean ourselves with that Charity, humility, and pacific temper of mind which were the Characteristics of the Divine Author of our blessed Religion, and without a humble imitation of whose example in these things we can never hope to be a happy nation. Grant our supplication we beseech Thee, through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen." --

This prayer of George Washington appears in St. Paul's Chapel in New York City.
