There is so much to pray for in our country and around the world. I would like to recommend that you set aside at least one day when you pray for our nation and our leaders bot from your political view from releasing and lifting them to God and God's will and guidance. I am just listing a few current key prayer prompts, but I suggest highly being part, or receiving email updates, of the Presidential Prayer Team... from PRAYER TOOLS

2011 National Prayerby Joni Eareckson Tada, Honorary Chairman

Almighty God, you are our Mighty Fortress, our refuge and the God in whom we place our trust.  As our nation faces great distress and uncertainty, we ask your Holy Spirit to fall afresh upon your people — convict us of sin and inflame within us a passion to pray for our land and its people.  Grant the leaders of our country an awareness of their desperate need of wisdom and salvation in You until sin becomes a reproach to all and righteousness exalts this nation.
Protect and defend us against our enemies and may the cause of Christ always prevail in our schools, courts, homes, and churches.  Lord God, send a spirit of revival and may it begin in our own hearts.
Remember America, we pray.  Remember the foundations on which this country was built.  Remember the prayers of our nation’s fathers and mothers, and do not forget us in our time of need.In the name of our Savior, Jesus Christ, Amen.

Protect the Upright

Scripture: May integrity and uprightness protect me, because my hope is in you. -Psalms 25:21

Prayer: Lord You are King over all the earth. Your deeds are awesome, and You are always faithful to Your word.

I come before You now to secure protection for the jobless in my community. As they walk in integrity and uprightness, they are positioned to receive Your protection. So I present their case before You now, and ask for Your promise to be fulfilled.

Come to their aid, Lord, surround them with Your favor, be the shield they need and breakdown every attack that confronts them today. Let Your word go before them, and Your presence be their comfort. Guard their going out and their coming in, and keep them from every scheme formed against them today. In Jesus name, amen.

Praying for: USA

Unity of Believers

Scripture: I in them and you in me. May they be brought to complete unity to let the world know that you sent me and have loved them even as you have loved me. -John 17:23

Prayer: Lord, You are God of heaven and earth, and Lord of all the nations. Every person and every family owes their well-being to You, and You alone are the source of all blessings.

Lord, I pray for USA, I know You want to bless this place, that Your blessings flow best when Your people are in unity. I lift up the believers of USA and I ask Lord that You would break down the walls that divide them. I ask Lord that You would tear down those things that have been built up to protect and isolate.

Lord, bring Your body in USA into a place of dependence on You and one another, and remove the obstacles that stand between them. I bind the spirit of fear, that brings division and ask for a fresh boldness to step over these ancient boundaries and embrace one another. May You be glorified Lord through Your people. In Jesus name, amen.

Almighty God we give You thanks Lord for You are the author and perfector of our lives and You are doing a mighty work Lord in us, in this nation, and across the globe. We acknowledge that You are in all and all are in You and that You died and rose again so that all may live. You have said that none shall perish Lord and that every knee shall bow and every tongue confess Your name so we just pray for the awakening in our spirits Lord to what is done already for on the cross of cavalry You said "It is Finished" we just need the revelation Lord of what is already completed. The revelation is of Your Son Jesus Christ and the fact that He has returned inside of each and every one of us. He has made us ALL sons of the Most High and He is alive in us. We lift up our families we pray You hold them together with strong ties of love, we pray for our communities Lord that you will unite them, unite us all and knit us tightly together for Your purpose and not for our own,

...we pray Lord for our governments that they listen to Your voice and follow Your direction for You said that the government shall be on Your shoulders and we pray for Your mighty hand to protect all those who serve in the armed forces Lord and that you bring them home to their families safely Lord. We thank You Lord for the Righteousness, Peace, and Joy which is Your Kingdom and which is inside of each and every one of us so let us seek out Your Kingdom in each other today for when we seek first Your Kingdom all other things shall be given. Thank You Lord Jesus Christ. It is in Christ's name we pray and we say AMEN!!

Heavenly Father, How appropriate that Germaine's Daily Prayer on this National Day of Prayer would be "FREE TO BELIEVE"!

Yes, Father, thank You for giving us the choice to believe. Thank You for the opportunity to know You through Jesus Christ and that I was given an education and had religious freedom to learn about You. Thank You that I was born in a country that allows religious freedom.

I praise You that I know Jesus as my friend, Lord and Savior! I am so grateful that I received Jesus early in life and am adopted in the family of God! I thank You Abba that You are my Father in Heaven!
I'm indebted to You for my freedom to believe in You as others don'y have or were never given. I exalt You and I adore You. May I follow Your will and authority over my life always showing my gratitude.

Father, Today I join other believers and ask for a powerful flow of Your Holy Spirit uniting and reviving Your people to humble themselves and pray. To seek Your face and Your Way in our nation. I repent for the many sins in our nation and ask for Your mercy and grace.

Today’s Devotional

Confident Decision

Written on the United States currency are the words, “In God We Trust.” The question is: “Do you?”

“My God, in whom I trust.”

Psalm 91:2b

Psalm 40:1-3 says, “I waited patiently for the Lord; he inclined to me and heard my cry. He drew me up…out of the miry bog, and set my feet upon a rock, making my steps secure. He put a new song in my mouth, a song of praise to our God. Many will see and…put their trust in the Lord.”

Undoubtedly, there has been a time when things did not go as you had planned. Cars break down, roommates disappoint, job loss puts your family’s well-being in jeopardy or a loved one dies. Where do you put your trust? Can you make it on your own? Do you become bitter?

Friend, there is no better decision than to put your confidence in the Lord and giver of life. Commit yourself to the always faithful God. Pray this country’s leaders will be guided by His Word. Then, be an example others follow so they will put their trust in the Lord. Remember, the Father provided the way of salvation through Jesus, so He is certainly able to carry you through difficult times.

Heavenly Father, I also am glad to have been brought up in a land of the free and was taught that you love us and if we live for you and believe in your Son, we will have a home in heaven. Bless out leaders and protect our land I pray that we may remain a free country and free to worship you. You are God Almighty and I praise your Holy, righteous name. Thank you for being our Heavenly Father who loved us so much that You gave Your only son to die on a cruel cross that we might have forgiveness of sin and live a life of freedome in You. I so look forward to the day when I can stand before you and worship you. Bless your holy name, Father. I love you with all of my heart.

PRAYER for Our Nation

This was shared in an email from the Presidential Prayer Team:

Declaration of Independence Signer

Samuel Chase
George Washington (1732-1799), 1st President of the United States

"Almighty God: We make our earnest prayer that Thou wilt keep the United States in Thy Holy protection; and Thou wilt incline the hearts of the Citizens to cultivate a spirit of subordination and obedience to Government; and to entertain a brotherly affection and love for one another and for their fellow Citizens of the United States at large, and particularly for their brethren who have served in the Field. And finally that Thou wilt most graciously be pleased to dispose us all to do justice, to love mercy, and to demean ourselves with that Charity, humility, and pacific temper of mind which were the Characteristics of the Divine Author of our blessed Religion, and without a humble imitation of whose example in these things we can never hope to be a happy nation. Grant our supplication we beseech Thee, through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen." --

This prayer of George Washington appears in St. Paul's Chapel in New York City.
