PRAYER for Our Nation
This was shared in an email from the Presidential Prayer Team:
Declaration of Independence Signer
George Washington (1732-1799), 1st President of the United States
"Almighty God: We make our earnest prayer that Thou wilt keep the United States in Thy Holy protection; and Thou wilt incline the hearts of the Citizens to cultivate a spirit of subordination and obedience to Government; and to entertain a brotherly affection and love for one another and for their fellow Citizens of the United States at large, and particularly for their brethren who have served in the Field. And finally that Thou wilt most graciously be pleased to dispose us all to do justice, to love mercy, and to demean ourselves with that Charity, humility, and pacific temper of mind which were the Characteristics of the Divine Author of our blessed Religion, and without a humble imitation of whose example in these things we can never hope to be a happy nation. Grant our supplication we beseech Thee, through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen." --
This prayer of George Washington appears in St. Paul's Chapel in New York City.

Day 1
A Humble Spirit
Heavenly Father, You are the high and lofty One that inhabits eternity. Your name is Holy. I come boldly before You with a contrite and humble spirit; according to Your Word You dwell with me. Have mercy upon me, O God, according to Your lovingkindness: according unto the multitude of Your tender mercies blot out my transgressions. Wash me thoroughly from mine iniquity, and cleanse me from my sin in the name of Jesus. Amen

Day 2
A Contrite Spirit
Heavenly Father, I come to You with a contrite spirit, and I tremble at Your Word. Anoint my ears to hear the preaching of Your Word that I may experience all Your promises, which are yes in Christ. Through Him we speak the Amen to Your glory. With the help of the Holy Spirit I am ready to work out my own salvation with fear and trembling because You are energizing and creating in me the power and desire to do Your will in the name of Jesus. Amen.

Day 4
A Morning Prayer
Father, in the name of Jesus, I come boldly unto the throne of grace, that I may obtain mercy, and find grace to help in my time of need. Father, I thank You for a good nights rest. I laid down in peace, and slept; You made me dwell in safety. Grant me the grace to walk through this day in true godliness with contentment. I bind mercy and truth around my neck, and write them on the table of my heart, and I will find favor in the sight of God and man. With Your grace I will serve my employer and everything I do today I do in singleness of heart as unto the Lord. Amen.

Day 6
My Desire
As the deer pants for the water brooks, so pants my soul for You, O God. My soul thirsts for You, for the living God. You are my God, early will I seek You; my soul thirsts for You; my flesh longs for You in a dry and thirsty land where there is no water. The desire of my soul is for Your nameand by my spirit within me I will seek You early. You command Your lovingkindness in the daytime, and in the night Your song shall be with mea prayer to the God of my life. Amen

Day 7
Power of Prayer
Heavenly Father, You spoke by the Spirit through Your servant James, The effectual fervent prayer of a righteous man avails much. Help me to watch and pray each day, at the beginning, throughout the day and at the end of the day. You will answer; You will guide, protect and sustain me. Thank You for providing strength to resist temptation. My prayers are forceful and effective, in the name of Jesus. Amen.

Day 8
Wisdom for Today
Father, I need You; I need Your wisdom as I walk through this dayat home and at workin all my relationships. You caused Jesus to be made wisdom unto me. Holy Spirit, remind me that the fear of the Lord is wisdom; and to depart from evil is understanding. I reverence You, my Lord, and depart from evil. Thank You for Your gift of wisdom that is from above. Help me remember that it is first pure, then peaceable, gentle, and easy to be entreated, full of mercy and good fruits, without partiality, and without hypocrisy. Amen

Day 9
Receiving the Promises
Father, Your divine power has given me all things that pertain to life and godliness, through the knowledge of Him who called me by glory and virtue. I receive Your exceedingly great and precious promises that through these I may be a partaker of the divine nature. In the name of Jesus, I give cheerfully as I purpose in my heart. I sow bountifully and I shall reap bountifully according to Your Word. Amen.

Day 11
A Day of Hope
Father, September 11, 2001 a day that is forever engraved in our memories; a day when hope arose out of ashes. Faith in God sprang up anew, and our faith is spoken of throughout the whole world. Even though some did not believe, their unbelief did not make the faith of God without effect. Let us love one another: for love is of God; and every one that loves is born of God, and knows God. Now abides faith, hope, and love, these three; but the greatest of these is love. We stand shoulder to shoulder in orderly array against the forces of darkness, in the name of Jesus. Amen.

Day 12
Overcoming Fear
The Lord is my light and my salvation; whom shall I fear? The Lord is the strength of my life; of whom shall I be afraid? When the wicked come against me to eat up my flesh, my enemies and foes they will stumble and fall. Though an army may encamp against me, my heart shall not fear; though war may rise against me, in this I will be confident. God has not given me a spirit of fear, but of power, love and a sound mind. Amen.

Day 13
Overcoming Fear (Continued)
One thing have I desired of the Lord, that will I seek; that I may dwell in the house of the Lord all the days of my life, to behold the beauty of the Lord, and to inquire in His temple. For in the time of trouble He shall hide me in His pavilion: in the secret of His tabernacle shall He hide me; He shall set me up upon a rock. I walk by faith and not by sight. Jesus is Lord of my life. Amen.
Scripture Reading: Psalm 27:4-5 2 Corinthians 5:7

Day 14
Overcoming Fear of my Enemies
Let it be done to me according to Your Word. My head shall be lifted up above my enemies all around me: therefore will I offer sacrifices of joy in Your tabernacle; I will sing, yes, I will sing praises unto the Lord. Hear, O Lord, when I cry with my voice: have mercy also upon me, and answer me. When You said, Seek my face, my heart said to You, Your face, Lord, I will seek. You have been my help; do not leave me nor forsake me, O God of my salvation. Even if my father and my mother forsake me, the Lord will take me up. In the name of Jesus, You are a Father who will never leave me or forsake me; I will never be abandoned or left without support. Amen.

Day 15
Overcoming Fear with Faith
Lord, teach us Your way, and lead us in a smooth path, because of our enemies. Do not deliver us to the will of our adversaries for false witnesses have risen against us, and such as breathe out violence. We would have lost heart, unless we had believed that we would see the goodness of the LORD in the land of the living. We wait on You LORD; we are of good courage and You shall strengthen our hearts. We are waiting on the LORD! We pray in the name of Jesus. Amen.

Day 16
Prayer for the Nations
God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble. Therefore we will not fear. There is a river whose streams shall make glad the people of God. God is in our midst and we shall not be moved; God will help us. The LORD of hosts is with us; the God of Jacob is our refuge. We proclaim that God will be exalted among the nations; He will be exalted in the earth. Amen

Day 17
Overcoming Denial
Father, I thank You for delivering me out of the dominion of darkness and translating me into the kingdom of Your dear Son. You are at work in me, helping me work out my own salvation. I yield to the ministry of transformation as You energize and create in me the desire and will to face the problematic issues in my life. In the name of Jesus, I crush, smash and dissolve the stronghold of denial. Then I shall know the truth and the truth will set me free. Amen.

Day 18
Receiving Forgiveness
Father, You are my source of love, forgiveness and acceptance. All other sources have left me emotionally wounded and confused. I built my walls of self-protection, turned my back on You and the spring of living water; I dug my own cisterns, broken cisterns that cannot hold water. I repent of my transgressions. In the name of Jesus, I ask You to cleanse me and take away my guilt. Jesus, I drink from the living water; I believe on You, and out of my innermost being shall flow rivers of living water. Amen.

Day 20
Identified with Christ
Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who has blessed me with every spiritual blessing in the heavenly places in Christ. You chose me before the foundation of the world, that I should be holy and blameless before You. In love You predestined me to adoption as a son/daughter through Jesus Christ to Yourself, according to the good intention of Your will, and to the praise of the glory of Your grace, which You freely bestowed on me in the Beloved. In the name of Jesus, I thank You for loving me. Amen.

Day 21
Identified with Christ (continued)
Father, I thank You for sending Your Son to redeem me from the curse of the law. In him I have redemption through His blood, the forgiveness of my trespasses, according to the riches of Your grace. I was included in Christ when I heard the word of truth, the gospel of my salvation. Having believed, I was marked in Him with a seal, the promised Holy Spirit, a deposit guaranteeing my inheritance until the redemption of those who are Your possession--to the praise of Your glory. It is Christ in me the hope of glory! Amen.

Day 22
Free From Condemnation
Thank You for releasing me from guilt and shame. I am in Christ Jesus, walking not after the flesh, but after the Spirit, and I am no longer under condemnation. I am blessed; my iniquities are forgiven, and my sins covered. The Lord is not bringing any charge against me. You are not counting my sin against me, and in my spirit is no deceit. Thank You for giving me the grace to accept and forgive myself for I am wonderfully made. In the name of Jesus, You are my Creator. Amen.

Day 24
Overcoming a Compulsion to Please People
Fear of man will prove to be a snare, but whoever trusts in the Lord is kept safe. In the name of Jesus I cast down the compulsion to please people. Am I now trying to win the approval of men, or of God? Or am I trying to please men? If I were still trying to please men, I would not be a servant of Christ. Search me, O God, and know my heart: try me, and know my thoughts: see if there is any offensive way in me, and lead me in the way everlasting. Amen.

Day 25
Saved By Grace
My performance and the opinion of others did not save me. It is by grace that I am saved through faith; and that not of myself: it is the gift of God. Not by works of righteousness, which I have done, but according to Your mercy You saved me, by the washing of regeneration, and renewing of the Holy Ghost; which You shed on me abundantly through Jesus Christ my Savior; that being justified by grace, I should be made an heir according to the hope of eternal life. Thank You Father-God for Your tender mercies and lovingkindness. Amen.

Day 27
Delivered
Today, I give thanks unto the Fatherwho has delivered me from the power of darkness, and has translated me into the kingdom of His dear Son. You brought me forth with joy and gladness. I live in the kingdom of righteousness, peace and joy in the Holy Spirit. Once I was darkness, but now I am shining light in the Lord, and my goal is to live as a child of light in the name of Jesus. Amen.

Day 29
Releasing Cares
In the name of Jesus, I cast all my anxiety on God, my Father, because He cares for me. I am self-controlled and alert. The devil prowls around like a roaring lion looking for someone to devour. By the power of the Holy Spirit, I resist him, standing firm in the faith...And the God of all grace, who called me to His eternal glory in Christ, after I have suffered a little while, will Himself restore me and make me strong, firm and steadfast. Thank you, Father, in the name that is above all namesJESUS! Amen.
