Prayer for Leaders

Father, in the name of Jesus, I commit to pray and not faint or lose heart. Here in Your throne room, I thank You for all people, and ask You to fulfill their every need. In the name of Jesus, I bind the hearts and minds of rulers and all who have authority to godly wisdom that they may rule well so we can go quietly about our business of living simply, in humble contemplation the way You, our Savior God intended us to live. Amen.

Prayer Armor

Father, in the name of Jesus I am strong in You and the power of Your might. I have the belt of truth tied around my waist and the protection of right living on my chest. I am wearing the Good News of peace and I will use the shield of faith to stop all the burning arrows of the evil one. Your salvation is my helmet, and I take the sword of the Spirit, which is the Word of God, praying in the spirit at all times with all kinds of prayers. I will always be ready and never give up praying for my brothers and sisters, and I ask You to give our ministers words so that they can tell the secret of the Good News without fear. Thank You for hearing my prayer. Amen. (To Put on the Armor of God, Prayers That Avail Much Commemorative Gift Edition)

Chosen by God

Father, in Christ You chose us before the world was made so that we would be Yours holy and blameless in Your sight. Because of love, You had already decided to make us Your own children through Jesus Christ. In Christ we are set free by the blood of His death, and so we have received forgiveness for our sins. We have received Jesus as Your Son, we believe in His name, and He gave us the right to become Your children. We love You because You first loved us. Amen.

Hope

Father, You have blessed us with Your grace and peace, strength and confidence, so that we can fulfill our God-given destinies. When You open a door, no one can close it, and when You close it, no one can open it. Thank You for the plans You have for us. You have given us hope and a good future. We lean not unto our own understanding; we remember You in all we do, and we will have good success in the name of Jesus. Amen.

Loving Others

Father, the end of all things is at hand, and we will be serious and watchful in our prayers. Above all things help us have fervent love for one another -- love that covers a multitude of sins. May we be hospitable to one another without grumbling, and minister to each other with the ability You supply. In all things we pray that You will be glorified through Jesus Christ, to whom belong the glory and the dominion for ever. Amen.

Comfort

Father, in the darkness of night You are composing a new song for me that I might sing a hymn of praise. Many will see and fear and put their trust in You. By day You direct Your love, at night Your song is with me a prayer to You, the God of my life. When my heart is breaking You take up the cadence and blend it with Your song of comfort. In the name of Jesus I thank You for loving me. Amen.

Paths of Righteousness

Father, You are leading me on paths I do not know, past all my fantasies, hopes, doubts and fear. When I go through deep waters and great trouble, You will be with me. When I go through rivers of difficulty, I will not drown! When I walk through the fire of oppression, I will not be burned up--the flames will not consume me. Even though I walk through the shadow of death I will fear no evil. You lead me in the paths of righteousness for Your name's sake. In the name of Jesus I will rejoice in You and be glad. Amen.

Relationships

Are you having difficulty in your relationships at work or at home? Pray with me today:

Father, in the name of Jesus, as one of Your chosen people, holy and dearly loved, I clothe myself with compassion, kindness, humility, gentleness, and patience. I bear with others and forgive whatever grievances I may have against anyone. I forgive as You forgave me. Over all these virtues I put on love, which binds them all together in perfect unity. A Word of Encouragement:

God saw you when you were in your mothers womb (Psalm 139:13-16). He knew your mother and father and the circumstances of the home where you were to grow up. He knew the schools you would attend and the neighborhood in which you would live. In his mercy God gave you survival techniques and walked with you through good times and bad. Whatever your life may have been like up to this point, the peace of God can change the regrets and wounds of the past into forgiveness, thanksgiving and praise.

Pray with me:

Father, I come to You in the name of Jesus. With the help of the Holy Spirit, and by Your grace, I join with the heavenly host making a joyful noise to You, and serve You with gladness! I let go of the past and come into Your presence with singing! Amen and amen! (Giving Thanks to God, Volume 3, Prayers That Avail Much)

NOTE: Lift your voice in a song of praise wherever you may be in your car, in the shower, in the kitchen a song will lift heavy burdens and lift your spirits.

Called With A Holy Calling

Father, You have not given us a spirit of fear, but of power, love and of a sound mind. We will not be ashamed of the testimony of our Lord. You saved us and called us with a holy calling, not according to our works, but according to Your own purpose and grace which was given us in Christ Jesus before time began. You called us and You are faithful to do it in the name of Jesus.

Strength

Father, when I am weak You give me power. When I have no might You strengthen me. I will wait upon You, LORD, and You shall renew my strength. I shall mount up with wings as eagles. Dear Heavenly Father, You are my daily strength. You have always been my strength, but especially since I had my stroke. I praise You for every ounce of strength You have blessed me with. There are days, when I feel so tired, and my whole body hurts. I do not know if I can even walk, but, on those days precious Father, You pick me up and carry me, until I can walk on my own. I give You all the praise, now, and forever. I love You. Amen.

Ohh Father, this is where I wanted to come first thing this morning when I opened the screen to a ask You and thank You for Your strength! I needed to check my finances also early in the day and I still have not done that...but You already know all of this and the "detours" of this day.

I am ever so weary again today and once again I need Your strength. When I am weak, I'm so thankful for You and Your power. And even when I am strong, I need Your power and strength. Thank You for renewing my strength! Thank You for being my Light and my salvation in the midst of this dark world, we all need Your Light! Send Your Light and wisdom now for the USA gov't and CIA dealing with the lives of these CIA spies in the Middle East! Guard their very lives, Lord! Be their strength! Give them wisdom! We ask for You to place a hedge of protection around them in Jesus name. May they not be afraid. I pray that each one knows You and if they don't that anyone in the group that does will lead them in prayer to ask for Your salvation and wisdom in their situation. God, thank You that You are for us!
Help us not grow faint and continue to walk in Your strength. The JOY of the Lord is our strength. BE the stronghold of our lives and empower by Your Holy Spirit!

PRAYER for Our Nation

This was shared in an email from the Presidential Prayer Team:

Declaration of Independence Signer

Samuel Chase
George Washington (1732-1799), 1st President of the United States

"Almighty God: We make our earnest prayer that Thou wilt keep the United States in Thy Holy protection; and Thou wilt incline the hearts of the Citizens to cultivate a spirit of subordination and obedience to Government; and to entertain a brotherly affection and love for one another and for their fellow Citizens of the United States at large, and particularly for their brethren who have served in the Field. And finally that Thou wilt most graciously be pleased to dispose us all to do justice, to love mercy, and to demean ourselves with that Charity, humility, and pacific temper of mind which were the Characteristics of the Divine Author of our blessed Religion, and without a humble imitation of whose example in these things we can never hope to be a happy nation. Grant our supplication we beseech Thee, through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen." --

This prayer of George Washington appears in St. Paul's Chapel in New York City.
