If this is your first visit, please stop by here and read a little bit about our ministry--how we are joining together to lift others to God in prayer. However, what you read here and in the posts is actually enough.

Maybe you come across someone that needs prayer while visiting blogs, instead of just saying, "Praying for you", do so and bring their prayer need and leave your prayer here and let them know that you left a prayer for them at the Lighthouse of Prayer

This is an interactive blog based on a comment and response system. YOU are a part of our Prayer Team - the minute you add your prayer in the comment area or leave one for someone else in the reply under their prayer.

PLEASE WRITE YOUR PRAYER, PRAYER REQUEST, PRAISE, THANKS - in the place that would normally read COMMENTS after the most recent post, but here it reads "PRAYERS LIFTED TO THE THRONE of GOD"... since a LINKY is no longer available. We begun using a PRAYER REQUEST LINKY, but if it's not there, please leave PRAYER or REQUEST in "PRAYERS LIFTED TO THE THRONE of GOD" (the area for comments but do not write a comment) Thank you so much! Looking at this new template, it's difficult to know how to leave a comment (Prayer) but just click on the part that says __ comments. [it __ shows a number for how many comments/prayers are currently posted]

We'd love to see your prayer requests and praises to God in this area and hopefully others will be supporting you through their prayers written as a response to your prayer there. Be sure to come back and see the prayers lifting you and yours together to the LORD or leave one! You can also remain anonymous, God knows you.

Please remember NO COMMENTS, only PRAYERS! It is important that this be a house of prayer. Any comment, not as a prayer or prayer request will be deleted. Thanks again!

Please read announcement in Oct. 2014 first to understand better the lack of activity here! Thank you.

Prayer and fasting and repentance can lead to both national and spiritual breakthrough.
Will you join in by praying these 3 prayer points?
1. That America would repent of its pride and self-idolatry, as we “humble ourselves and pray, turn from our wicked ways” and invite, and welcome God back into government, legal system, churches, family, education, military, business, media and the arts.
2 Chronicles 7:14
2. That America would seek wisdom from God because “the fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom”. Psalm 111:10
3. That the Church in America would reject her lukewarm apathetic attitude and arise to her full God-given destiny in Christ and together walk in their first love for God. Rev 3:16-17

Lord of the Universe. Lord of this planet. Lord of the nations. Lord of our hearts.
"On this National Day of Prayer, we look to You…
In the darkness, You are our Light.
In the storm, You are our Anchor.
In our weakness, You are our Strength. In our grief, You are our Comfort.
In our despair, You are our Hope.
In our confusion, You are our Wisdom. In time of terrorism, You are our Shield. In time of war, You are our Peace.
In times of uncertainty, You are the Rock on which we stand.
We make our prayer to You using the words of the prophet Daniel:
O Lord, You are the great and awesome God, who keeps His covenant of love with those who love Him and keep His commandments. You are merciful and forgiving. You are righteous, but this day we are covered with shame because we have sinned against You, and done wrong. We have turned away from Your commands and principles. We have turned away from You.
Yet You have promised in 2 Chronicles 7, that if we–a people identified with You–would humble ourselves, pray, seek Your face, and turn from our wicked ways, then You would hear our prayer, forgive our sin and heal our land.
So we choose to stop pointing our finger at the sins of others, and examine our own hearts and lives. We choose to acknowledge our own sin–our neglect and defiance and ignorance and even rejection of You. This day we choose to repent.
In response to our heartfelt repentance, God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob, Father of Jesus Christ, in keeping with all Your righteous acts and according to Your promise, turn away Your anger and Your wrath from the United States of America. Hear the prayers and petitions offered to You on this National Day of Prayer, as we give You our full attention. Give ear, our God, and hear; open Your eyes and see. We do not make requests of You because we are righteous, but because of Your great mercy.
For the glory of Your Name hear our prayer, forgive our sin, and heal our land.
We ask this in the name of Your Son Jesus Christ who offers us salvation from Your judgment, forgiveness for our sin, and reconciliation with You through His own blood shed on the Cross. Amen."

Heavenly Father,

Although this is not about the prominent needs of our nation, it is for a covering over our nation from the destruction of nature that is upon our nation from tornadoes, to storms, to flooding, to mudslides, to fires, to hurricanes, to hail and snow... it's endless the weather changes and how serious they impact and affect us, even to death and so much devastation and destruction. If ever, we needed YOU, God, it is now. Pour over this nation with a forgiving mercy with Your outstretched hand and touch the lives of so many that are broken and destroyed not only by these natural disasters but all of the heavy life storms that we bear (some as a result of our own sin, some completely out of our hands) but never YOUR HANDS! We place the USA in Your hands, We cry out for Your supernatural divine protection and covering from the wrath and devastation and despair this brings. May we fall to our knees in repentance and cry out for one another and our families that are suffering right now. May they know Jesus. May they feel the outpouring of Your love once again in the midst of these outrageous storms that are befalling us once again in this season, we ask for more of You, more of Your grace and mercy. Thank You for so much love in our past but we need You now! Thank You for the hands and feet that rescue. Comfort those who must face so much loss and devastation, but especially those families who lost loved ones. Be closer to them and send in the forces of strength and comfort through Your people reaching out, giving and helping. Forgive us, Lord for all our iniquities and cleans our nation of the wrong and evil. Hold back Your righteous wrath and spare us from more disasters. Reach down from heaven and take full control of these storms that not one would perish without the saving knowledge of You, the forgiveness and mercy You have shown us. Pour out a new rain of love and reign over the USA and America with a new reverence and fear, a sense of awe but more of serving and loving one another as Jesus would ... so that they will know we are Christians by our love. That You love us. EVERYONE of us and You do care, You are there, in the midst of the pain and suffering, You will hear our cries and help us if we seek You and turn from our ways, wicked and good ... as we lean and trust in You to establish Your kingdom and help with the recovery needed and the hearts that need Your love, strength, comfort and restoration. We beg You to be merciful and protect us as we, as a nation, have tried for years to defend religious freedom and Your Godly principles. Return us to Your Word and guide us in the paths before us. Cover us and protect us as we face and press on in and through these hard times in Jesus' merciful and loving name ...

We stand together with our nation/Your world and add our prayers for these concerns from the Prayer Alert of PPT (the Presidential Prayer team and Prayer Watch) and so much more:

As the Lord leads, please pray:

For the families of those killed in yesterday’s severe weather

For those who have lost their homes and valuables

For first responders and others helping with the storms aftermath

WE give You thanks and praise! And ask for miracles! We are saddened by the strength of these storms and this looks like it's just the beginning of a rough week and season. WE need You! We need Your protection! Be mighty and merciful Father ... Thank You for listening.

So thankful, LORD, that I am not driving home across the USA to MN at this time, and not in the future do I look forward to doing so when I know it's at the mercy of the weather and never knowing when and where "this" may hit ... so I give You thanks God for Your perfect timing and keeping me where I am safe(for now) until I hear from You (or MN) .. I am blessed to be a blessing and lift up the many that are not so fortunate. Please watch over them and us in Jesus' loving name ... I pray.

Father, I know that Arkansas, is only one of the many states impacted by this tremendous storm. But as I go to the Prayer Calendar (mentioned above) I noticed that this was the Bible verse for the 2.9 million in Arkansas:

Acts 17:24-28 ... "“The God who made the world and everything in it is the Lord of heaven and earth and does not live in temples built by human hands. 25 And He is not served by human hands, as if He needed anything. Rather, He Himself gives everyone life and breath and everything else. 26 From one man He made all the nations, that they should inhabit the whole earth; and He marked out their appointed times in history and the boundaries of their lands. 27 God did this so that they would seek Him and perhaps reach out for Him and find Him, though He is not far from any one of us. 28 ‘For in Him we live and move and have our being.’

So we lift up the people of Arkansas with these words, to seek Him, reach out to Him, find Him, He is not far away. May Our Great and Mighty God breathe upon each of You and give life, save life and protect life (unlike we have done in so many circumstances) ...may He forgive us and give us His Divine Grace and protection as He provides and covers You each with an outpouring of His love and more of His tender mercies, with comfort and compassion, may You receive this Word with love.

[It's also interesting on that same Prayer Calendar that the Bible verse for N. Carolina was from Acts 3:19-21 ... not that I'm saying these verses mean anything to that specific state, they are meant for all of us.]

So Father, we cry out ...and repent on behalf of our nation, every state, every citizen, believer and non believer that they may come to believe. May we indeed TURN TO GOD ...

"19 Repent, then, and turn to God, so that your sins may be wiped out, that times of refreshing may come from the Lord, 20 and that He may send the Messiah, who has been appointed for you—even Jesus. 21 Heaven must receive Him until the time comes for God to restore everything, as He promised long ago through his holy prophets."

Help us Lord and restore us, revive Your faithful to cling to Your Word and Your promises. Have mercy and once again fill Your people with HOPE, LOVE and FAITH. May this not cause any to turn from You but run to You in Jesus' precious name.

Dear heavenly Father, I lift everyone in Tennessee, Georgia, and Alabama up before Your throne. Please put a shield of protection around them, as severe storms are headed their way. So many in these areas lost their homes, lifes, and businesses in devasting tornadoes back in 2011, and 2012. Please keep everyone safe. Thank You Father.

It's Time to Pray

PRAYER for Our Nation

This was shared in an email from the Presidential Prayer Team:

Declaration of Independence Signer

Samuel Chase
George Washington (1732-1799), 1st President of the United States

"Almighty God: We make our earnest prayer that Thou wilt keep the United States in Thy Holy protection; and Thou wilt incline the hearts of the Citizens to cultivate a spirit of subordination and obedience to Government; and to entertain a brotherly affection and love for one another and for their fellow Citizens of the United States at large, and particularly for their brethren who have served in the Field. And finally that Thou wilt most graciously be pleased to dispose us all to do justice, to love mercy, and to demean ourselves with that Charity, humility, and pacific temper of mind which were the Characteristics of the Divine Author of our blessed Religion, and without a humble imitation of whose example in these things we can never hope to be a happy nation. Grant our supplication we beseech Thee, through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen." --

This prayer of George Washington appears in St. Paul's Chapel in New York City.
