A Blessed & Happy New Year

... let's start the year right in prayer for one another ...

PERSONAL PRAYER REQUESTS and HOW THE LIGHTHOUSE WORKS

If this is your first visit, please stop by here and read a little bit about our ministry--how we are joining together to lift others to God in prayer. However, what you read here and in the posts is actually enough.

Maybe you come across someone that needs prayer while visiting blogs, instead of just saying, "Praying for you", do so and bring their prayer need and leave your prayer here and let them know that you left a prayer for them at the Lighthouse of Prayer

This is an interactive blog based on a comment and response system. YOU are a part of our Prayer Team - the minute you add your prayer in the comment area or leave one for someone else in the reply under their prayer.

PLEASE WRITE YOUR PRAYER, PRAYER REQUEST, PRAISE, THANKS - in the place that would normally read COMMENTS after the most recent post, but here it reads "PRAYERS LIFTED TO THE THRONE of GOD"... since a LINKY is no longer available. We begun using a PRAYER REQUEST LINKY, but if it's not there, please leave PRAYER or REQUEST in "PRAYERS LIFTED TO THE THRONE of GOD" (the area for comments but do not write a comment) Thank you so much! Looking at this new template, it's difficult to know how to leave a comment (Prayer) but just click on the part that says __ comments. [it __ shows a number for how many comments/prayers are currently posted]

We'd love to see your prayer requests and praises to God in this area and hopefully others will be supporting you through their prayers written as a response to your prayer there. Be sure to come back and see the prayers lifting you and yours together to the LORD or leave one! You can also remain anonymous, God knows you.

Please remember NO COMMENTS, only PRAYERS! It is important that this be a house of prayer. Any comment, not as a prayer or prayer request will be deleted. Thanks again!

Please read announcement in Oct. 2014 first to understand better the lack of activity here! Thank you.

UPDATES and PRAYERS for DENISE ONLY

Denise still needs PRAYERs even though she went home from hospital and the rehab center. She still has a rough road ahead of her and has been back to ER and hospital a few times since going home, so this battle is not over just because God helped her incredibly and miraculously through this crisis. She is currently using a walker and facing great difficulties still in all areas. Thank you for remembering her in your prayers constantly. (Jan. 2015)
<><><>

I have decided to take the updates that were in the November Prayers for Denise Oldham (our sweet Shortybear)  and Add them here for ALL, along with the prayers that I will try to update as needed.  {sidenote: partly because her blog comments do not seem to be working, at least not for me}

If you have been around this Lighthouse of Prayer at all or for much time, you would know that Denise is one of our major prayer intercessors and such a warrior for others and her own family, friends and self. We cannot NOT join together and continue praying for her as she has kept this "Lighthouse" shining and much of blogland with her sweet loving smile and comments. When Denise was offline, she was so concerned that the "Lighthouse" would remain open... and shining so that was her first question to me when she came back online. Our Prayer Vigil for Denise is for as long as Denise needs it ... not 24 hours as most are

FOR
DENISE OLDHAM (SHORTYBEAR)

Please join us in our own little PRAYER VIGIL for DENISE and the following consideration from Marsha Harwood's Facebook {our dear friend and sister in Christ that is keeping us updated on Denise} Since I do not have Facebook and know others do not, I will try to keep this up to date with any news I get. HERE is a place where we can gather and pray in Jesus' precious Name for DENISE

My apologies in advance: THIS IS and WILL BE A LONG POST and PROBABLY THE PRAYERS in the comments will get long also; so be patient, pace yourself , read as you can and pray in agreement (you don't have to write that you are in agreement or add your Amen here due to space, but Our Heavenly Father knows and hears). ONLY PRAYERS accepted in the comments as always here please. Be advised that I will delete comments.

"Next week is Denise's birthday on November 20th. Would you please consider showering her (and Eddie) with some love by sending a birthday or get well card? Also, Eddie is STILL not back to work from his accident, If you can bless them with a monetary gift or gift card, that would be a great help to them right now. If you need their address, please message me, even if we're not friends. I'll check my "Other" folder to see if it's there. Please identify yourself to me - how you know or know of Denise. My name is Marsha Harwood.

{Denise loves PURPLE!!!} THANK YOU SO MUCH MARSHA H. for ALL YOUR HELP and UPDATES and being our ears and hearts to Denise.

Previous Updates from in the comments of "November Prayers"

{now taken out and added here}. I will also be deleting them there and moving the prayers also. Sorry that I did not edit this ... it is as was ... WE WILL CONTINUE TO GIVE GOD THE GLORY, THANKS and PRAISE for what HE has already done and the wonderful medical team caring for Denise guided by God's Holy Spirit (as well as family, who also need your prayers). Thank you all!

{update from Marsha on Denise is not good. Denise is on oxygen and all other kinds of monitors in intense pain from heart attack and 90% blockage. Only a MIRACLE will keep us from losing Denise} Continue to pray as the Spirit leads and God's will plus reduced pain. But we serve a MIRACLE working GOD and the battle turned the moment we join in PRAYER this cord of 3 ... and hopefully more PRAY for DENISE and her miracle at ...

{another update I reposted "From the Heart" here ~Peggy}

I just read an update on Denise and the Dr. has decided to do surgery on her heart in the morning. Things are not going well. She is collecting fluid and her liver count is up. I read one update on Marsha Harwood's FB and Denise's niece Kellie had talked with Eddie and he told her about the surgery and what the drs. tell him. I will try to be here and put a prayer up for her. If anyone wants to join me that would be great. Denise is in God's hands and it's up to Him. He has brought her back before and He can do it again. Amen.

POST SURGERY UPDATE ON Denise Oldham from Marsha H.: I just spoke with Eddie on the phone. It appears our prayers have aligned with His will...we have a miracle woman in recovery!! He'll be able to go in and see her in about 30 minutes, but she won't be awake yet. They were able to repair 3 arteries, INCLUDING the aorta which they were uncertain about, in less time then they had anticipated! Now let's pray for her complete and full recovery! Eddie's gonna let me know when I can get in to see her. I would imagine the first 48-72 hours will be off limits, but we shall see.

PeggyNovember 15, 2014 at 9:48 PM

Denise Oldham's Friday Update 11/14 from Marsha Harwood's Facebook:

"Denise's making small progress in some areas, but some areas of concern as well.

PROGRESS: She's off of all machines other than IV's and some breathing treatments. She was able to take a few spoonfuls of chocolate pudding today and able to use ... so her internal workings are awake from the surgery and functioning.

AREAS OF CONCERN: They don't understand why she's not staying awake for than a couple of minutes at a time. They tried to sit her up on the side of the bed but there was too much stiffness and lack of feeling on the right side of her body.. They will be running a test this evening or in the morning to see if she's possibly had a stroke. When she is momentarily awake, she's highly agitated...unlike our sweet Denise.

PRAY: Obviously, no stroke....her previous stroke 3 years ago was on her left side, this is her right that's having problems. Pray for Eddie. He's just wore out and overwhelmed with it all.

SAT A.M. 11/15

There's some concerns regarding congestion in her lungs and her laboring to cough it up and also to breath. She's now on a ventilator. A lung doctor will be running a tube down to check out her what's going on in her lungs. Evidently this is not just the normal congestion and trouble swallowing that can come post-op. There were some abnormalities that showed up in her blood work....enough to prompt the doctors to recheck her heart. ...

What is for sure is our Sweet Denise needs our prayers! She is not going in the direction of healing right now. ..."
MONDAY UPDATE 11/17/14   DENISE is still on the ventilator. It may be Tues. now until they wean her off. There's still fluid in her lungs to be drained. The ventilator is delivering much needed oxygen to entire body. She's resting comfortably, aware when others are with her, responds to questions - sometimes by writing it down on paper. So right now, it's just a wait and healing rest time for Denise.
    1. TUESDAY 11/18/14
    2. from Marsha Harwood's FB on
Denise Oldham Evening Update: They remove all her tubes & she seems to be doing better! All vitals are stable. She is still having trouble sitting up on her own, but slowly but surely she will be able to leave ICU at some point. Also, Eddie did start work today. So, continued prayers.

    3. Denise Oldham's Sunday, November 30 UPDATE - I was blessed to be able to spend the afternoon with our sweet Denise. She's been in the rehab center for a few days now. She's working very hard at her recovery, but she's very discouraged. She wants to go home to recover, but it's just not possible right now. She was initially told she might be in as long as 4 weeks. All the doctors and the case worker are meeting Monday to develop goals and a tentative release date to shoot toward... ~Marsha

    URGENT prayer request for DENISE

(posted on Facebook which I don't have - I think it's under Marsha Harwood, maybe Denise's. Marsha is going to be with her and visit at 3pm EST and will update)

Heavenly Father, We come to You for wisdom and healing for Denise in ICU and her heart that's blocked. They say that they can't do "Open heart surgery" because of her other health issues complications, but You, Father, the Great Physician can do ALL open heart surgery needed. Open those arteries in the power of Your Holy Spirit and breathe fresh life into Denise and her arteries to her heart and head.

You are her Healer and Savior. Save Denise in Jesus' Name.

Be with all who are with her at that hospital. Bring strength, comfort, wisdom, clear direction and miracles through Your healing hands. Denise needs You! Please be with her now.

Her prognosis is not good right now, but we believe that through You and Your power, You can change all that. Praying for whatever options are safe and viable. You are Denise's Lord and Savior! You are a good God!

Embrace her, calm her, let her know that You and we are with her. If the doctors are unable to put in any stints, may You, Almighty God make a way to do what must be done for Your glory. We exalt You and thank You for ministering spirits to surround Denise and her care right now in Jesus' name.

Heavenly, Father, I agree with Peggy and Cathy for Denise's healing. Where 3 cords are tied together no one can get through. That is basically the motto for this site. You have brought Denise back before and You can do it again if that is Your will. We believe Your Word. Denise is needed at home and here at the Lighthouse. I give You all honor and glory for what You do for Denise. Whatever You choose she will be healed, in the name of Jesus. We love her so much and do not want to loose her now. Your will be done, in the name of Jesus. Amen.

Father, I know you are with our dear sister, Denise, who is in ICU with blocked arteries to her heart. The doctors can't operate because of her medical problems, but you are our great Physician. Take away the pain and heal her with your healing hand of love. Make her body whole with your mighty presence. We plead the blood of Jesus over her. Be with Eddie and her family and friends who love her so. Thank you, Lord, for your loving care and protection. In Jesus name, Amen

Father. I agree with my sister's in the name of Jesus that Your will be done in Denise's life. We want her to be completely healed and back with us here and her family. You know her future and the plan You put into place when you formed her in her mother's womb. We ask Your will be done, in the name of Jesus. You are her loving Father and what is best for Denise. We want her smiling face back praying for others, her family and us. You are a God of miracles because You have healed her before and I know by the miracles You have done in my own life. Bless Your name, Father of Jesus, bless Your name. I love You and I love my praying sisters here at the Lighthouse. I have learned so much from them and You. Amen.

Control all medical care with precision and the best wisdom and care humanly possible! May Your hands be the ones in control and Your wisdom in every split second decision.

We believe and trust in You completely because You love Denise as much as we do. You are the Divine Healer! Jehovah Rapha! Watch over and guard our dear sweet Denise in every way! Thank You for keeping her with us the time since her stroke and helping her each day. Take care of Coco for Denise. She means the world to Denise. Thank You that You care for every detail of Denise's life.

Denise (and we) love You! We are ever so grateful for the privilege to come boldly into Your Throne and ask Jesus to plead on Denise's behalf and intervene just as He already paid for her suffering and pain and has won the ultimate victory. It is by His blood and through His Wonderful Majestic Name that we come asking You to save, heal, deliver, restore and replenish all Denise vital signs so she is ready for surgery and recovery goes smoothly.

Come Holy Spirit and anoint Denise, with Your healing oil and the medical care team. Help each one to be compassionate and full of knowledge and sweet care of Denise and also loved ones having to cope with this and take it all in. We await a good report! We thank You that You go with Denise. Embrace her for us and let her know how much we are pulling for her and love her so much! We thank You for Denise! Pour back into Denise as she has given to others in prayer, words and so many ways.

Thank You and bless each one that stays and continues to pray for Denise. Lead and guide their hearts. Hear our cries in Jesus' beloved name ... we come and ask ...

We give You praise and thanks that the EKG came back with great results of healing and working fine. Thank You!

Thank You for Your continual care and love for Denise and loved ones. May You be glorified in every step and continue to hold Denise closely as she recovers and heals. We love You and thank You.

Thank You for sending so many to continue to pray with Marsha and here. We believe that when prayer goes up that the blessings will come down and Your Word and promises never return void. We claim Your healing scriptures for Denise in Jesus' precious name...

Father, Amen to Alice's prayer for Denise. Thank you for your blessings and healing. Help her be able to get off the ventilator on Tuesday. In Jesus name, Amen.

    From the Heart said...

Thank You, Heavenly Father, for leading me to a verse of scripture that is so simple.

    Matthew 7:7
“Ask, and it will be given you. Seek, and you will find.
Knock, and it will be opened for you."

Father, I'm asking, seeking and knocking on Your door for Denise's quick recovery and enough money to pay their bills, in the name of Jesus. Amen.

    Peggy said...

Father, You know the latest report even before we do that Denise is back on the ventilator but resting and breathing better with oxygen flowing to her entire body so we ask for medical wisdom in each step of caring for Denise (when and whether to wean her yet from the ventilator, etc.) as she is fighting that fluid build up in her lungs and they need to know why. Guide and direct them Lord!

Thank You that Denise is aware and able to respond some even in writing, I hope that she is able to convey her needs and pains or whatever she's feeling. I ask for clear understanding and Your strength for her husband as he copes with this. Provide for him and give him plenty of rest, comfort and peace as well. Meet him right where he is at and bring his heart back to You in Jesus' name. We stand against any anger, bitterness, or other negative weapons that may come to him. Continue healing in his leg and help him be able to return to work when it is time but to rest for now and help Denise in every way. Meet his needs as Debbie prayed with Your abundant grace and mercy.

Pour Your Holy Spirit power and anointed healing oil over Denise and him through Jesus' name, may they find healing and deliverance. We seek more miraculous healing rest as You deem fit for Denise and time for her to heal completely under You, Our Great Physician. We thank You for her rest and pray that she finds Comfort in Your loving embrace. May Denise sense how much she is loved. We praise You as You continue to be glorified in Denise's healing of her heart (in all ways) in Jesus' loving and precious name. There is nothing too difficult for You when we gather together in prayer and ask according to Your will. So we ask, seek and knock for Denise in agreement (per Your Word as given by From the Heart) ... You are Jehovah Jireh! You are Jehovah Rapha! You are our Lord and King! There is no other name greater or more precious than our sweet Jesus-Jesus-Jesus. Thank You for Your amazing love and grace! Keep on pouring more into our dear little sister Denise and Eddie too!

    From the Heart said...

Heavenly Father, I cannot. Pray anything more than. Our precious leader, Peggy, has prayed except I agree with her in the lovely name of Jesus that from this moment we will hear only good reports about what You Father, Son and Holy Spirit are doing to restore Denise's body back to good health. I'm still asking, seeking and knocking, in the name of Jesus for Denise's complete healing and restoration between you and her husband. I ask all of this in the name of Jesus. Amen

    Debbie Harris said...

Our prayers continue up for our dear sister, Denise, precious Lord and Savior.
There is comfort in knowing we can call upon Your name and lay our concerns at the foot of Your cross, trusting that You have total control in every detail of these lives. Your will and Your ways are perfect.
Comfort Denise with Your tender touch. May she sense Your presence all around her. Continue to guide and direct the doctors with Your hand.
I pray Father, that Your Spirit would fall upon Eddie. Draw him to Your side and show him how great You are.
How we love You Lord Jesus, and praise You, for You are worthy to be praised.
    Amen.

Thank You, Heavenly Father, for all You have done for Denise. You have performed so many miracles and we praise You for all You've done and all You will do as she continues to get stronger and stronger. What a blessing she is. We love her so much and know that she is in the palm of Your hand. You are God, Almighty, and I thank you over and over again. I truly believe You will have her home and ministering again soon. I also lift up Eddie to You and ask that You continue to bless him and may he realize that without You we are nothing. Praise Your holy name. I also thank Marsha and Peggy for all they have done to keep up informed. Praise Your precious holy name. Amen and Amen.

    PRAYER for Our Nation

This was shared in an email from the Presidential Prayer Team:

    Declaration of Independence Signer

    Samuel Chase
George Washington (1732-1799), 1st President of the United States

"Almighty God: We make our earnest prayer that Thou wilt keep the United States in Thy Holy protection; and Thou wilt incline the hearts of the Citizens to cultivate a spirit of subordination and obedience to Government; and to entertain a brotherly affection and love for one another and for their fellow Citizens of the United States at large, and particularly for their brethren who have served in the Field. And finally that Thou wilt most graciously be pleased to dispose us all to do justice, to love mercy, and to demean ourselves with that Charity, humility, and pacific temper of mind which were the Characteristics of the Divine Author of our blessed Religion, and without a humble imitation of whose example in these things we can never hope to be a happy nation. Grant our supplication we beseech Thee, through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen." --

This prayer of George Washington appears in St. Paul's Chapel in New York City.
