Ezekiel – the name meaning “God makes him strong” – was called upon to give his people HOPE in the desperate religious and political situation following the fall and occupation of Israel, and the exile of many of its people. Korea chose the theme based on UNITY because of their own situation within a divided country and the parellels with Ezekiel. It is these biblical themes - unity as God’s intention for God’s people; unity as God’s gift, but requiring conversion and renewal; unity as a new creation; and the hope that God’s people may yet be one - which have inspired the Korean churches for this Week of Prayer.
"I tell you the truth, whatever you bind on earth will be bound in heaven, and whatever you loose on earth will be loosed in heaven. 19"Again, I tell you that if two of you on earth agree about anything you ask for, it will be done for you by my Father in heaven.
20For where two or three come together in my name, there am I with them."
