Global Day of Prayers Day 8-14

I have decided to break these down on a weekly basis rather than all 30 days at once. Here is Day 8 to Day 14 of Global Day of Prayers.

DAY 8 Pray the Blessing
Joel 2:12-14
"Yet even now," declares the LORD, "return to me with all your heart, with fasting, with weeping, and with mourning; and rend your hearts and not your garments." Return to the LORD your God, for he is gracious and merciful, slow to anger, and abounding in steadfast love; and he relents over disaster. Who knows whether he will not turn and relent, and leave a blessing behind him, a grain offering and a drink offering for the LORD your God?

Declare your faith:
I believe and confess that God is merciful and compassionate towards all people (Ps 103:13).

Pray on foot: Pray at sites of disasters e.g. earthquakes, floods, tsunamis, asking God to be merciful and compassionate towards the victims. Demonstrate God’s compassion in loving acts to them.

DAY 9
Pray the Blessing:
Deut 28:7-10
"The LORD will cause your enemies who rise against you to be defeated before you. They shall come out against you one way and flee before you seven ways. The LORD will command the blessing on you in your barns and in all that you undertake. And he will bless you in the land that the LORD your God is giving you. The LORD will establish you as a people holy to himself, as he has sworn to you, if you keep the commandments of the LORD your God and walk in his ways. And all the peoples of the earth shall see that you are called by the name of the LORD, and they shall be afraid of you.

Declare your faith:
I confess and believe that faith in God will help me to overcome all fears, because God has not given us a spirit of fear but of love, power and self-control (Heb 11:6; 2 Tim 1:7)

Pray on foot: Pray at sites that cause your nation to fear, e.g. crime, violence, war, poverty, injustice, etc., or at sites of bloodshed, battlefields or accidents.

DAY 10
Pray the Blessing:
Ps 113:1-3
Behold, how good and pleasant it is when brothers dwell in unity! It is like the precious oil on the head, running down on the beard, on the beard of Aaron, running down on the collar of his robes! It is like the dew of Hermon, which falls on the mountains of Zion! For there the LORD has commanded the blessing, life forevermore.

Declare your faith:
I believe and confess that Jesus Christ is the Head of the Church, that He will build the Church and that the gates of hell shall not prevail against it (Col 1:18; Matt 16:18)

Pray on foot: Prayer-walk your community and pray at all the churches for unity, perseverance, growth and for the power of the Holy Spirit to manifest through their members. Make an appointment with the bishop, moderator, cardinal, priest or senior church officials and pray for those leading the flock.

DAY 11
Pray the Blessing:
Pro 11:11 By the blessing of the upright a city is exalted, but by the mouth of the wicked it is overthrown.

Declare your faith:
I believe and confess that Jesus Christ is the Word of God and that the implanted Word brings salvation (John 1:1; James 1:21).

Pray on foot: Pray at the newspaper’s office that the words of the upright will exalt the city and that the mouth of the wicked will be stopped.

DAY 12
Pray the Blessing:
Phil 4:19
And my God will supply every need of yours according to his riches in glory in Christ Jesus..

Declare your faith:
I believe and confess that Jesus if faithful and just and that He will supply all our needs (2 Tim 2:13; Phil 4:19)

Pray on foot: Pray at refugee camps or places where displaced people stay e.g. night shelters. Demonstrate the love and care of God to them visibly by helping them to build shelters or giving towards their needs.

DAY 13
Pray the Blessing:
Ps 92:12-15
The righteous flourish like the palm tree and grow like a cedar in Lebanon. They are planted in the house of the LORD; they flourish in the courts of our God. They still bear fruit in old age; they are ever full of sap and green, to declare that the LORD is upright; he is my rock, and there is no unrighteousness in him.

Declare your faith:
I believe and confess that the Holy Spirit is the Comforter sent by Jesus to be our helper (John 14:16-18)

Pray on foot: Pray for and perform a kind deed for an old person today or visit an old-age home to pray for the people.

DAY 14
Pray the Blessing:
Matt 25:31-40
"When the Son of Man comes in his glory, and all the angels with him, then he will sit on his glorious throne. Before him will be gathered all the nations, and he will separate people one from another as a shepherd separates the sheep from the goats. And he will place the sheep on his right, but the goats on the left. Then the King will say to those on his right, 'Come, you who are blessed by my Father, inherit the kingdom prepared for you from the foundation of the world. For I was hungry and you gave me food, I was thirsty and you gave me drink, I was a stranger and you welcomed me, I was naked and you clothed me, I was sick and you visited me, I was in prison and you came to me.' Then the righteous will answer him, saying, 'Lord, when did we see you hungry and feed you, or thirsty and give you drink? And when did we see you a stranger and welcome you, or naked and clothe you? And when did we see you sick or in prison and visit you?' And the King will answer them, 'Truly, I say to you, as you did it to one of the least of these my brothers, you did it to me.'

Declare your faith:
I believe and confess that Jesus Christ came set the captives free and that by his death on the cross He broke the hold of sin over our lives (Luke 4:18).

Pray on foot: Visit a prison today and pray for the prisoners, their families and their needs.

Dear heavenly Father, I come to You today, on behalf of my sweet friend Peggy. Her doctor is having surgery Father, please keep him safe, and bring him through the surgery better than ever. Peggy needs her doctor for her own medical needs Father. I also pray that You would soften the heart of Peggys husband, let him cry out to You Father. In Your precious name I ask these things, I love You Father. Amen

Tammy needs prayer: Had an appointment with the Orthopedic surgeon today. He feels that the numbness in my feet is from nerve deteriation. Usually people with this problem have diabetes. He is glad I will be seeing a neurologist next Wed. Will have to schedule an appointment to have a diabetes test ran again.
Will be having an MRI ran on my right knee as am having problems with it now. My left knee, which is the one that had been operated on before is acting up as well. Will be having cartalige injections in both knees once he sees if I need surgery on the right knee or not. This is all from Rhuematoid arthritis tearing up the miniscus in there.
Still holding onto faith. I know only God can take all this away. It's scary in a sense to think about the possibility of losing my feet. This has been known to happen if I have diabetes and the nerves are dead. The numbness is getting worse. Usually when this happens, most have their lower limbs to thier knees amputated. :{
At least now I have an idea of why all the pain and some numbness off and on through out my body. I have no reflexes in my knees and very little in the right ankle. The left ankle has none. I keep reminding myself that there are others in much worse condition. I have grandchildren to enjoy and do things with. Am not going to let this get the best of me.

Please pray for Marcus: I've designed a blog strictly for the prayers for Marcus, my 13 y.o. son.

He saw the neurosurgeon yesterday and it was determined that his Chiari I malformation was 'significant' and he definitely recommends the surgery.

He will be having this in the next couple weeks when everything (ins, paperwork) clears.

Please visit his blog, and grab the button, spread the prayer word. The more in our prayer circle, the better.

He will be in ICU for 2 days at Banner Desert in Mesa, AZ and he has lots of risks, like paralysis, which is low, but still, it scares me greatly.

I'm trying to be positive.

Interestingly, Marcus is not scared, and excited for surgery, to not be in constant pain. Just a trooper...

Here's his blog: http://prayers4marcus.blogspot.com/

Update on Marcus: He is going to have the surgery in the next couple weeks. His father and I've decided it's the best thing for him instead of suffering or taking drugs. Please continue to pray.

Update on Allelulabells husband Ron: One good piece of news: Ron no longer has the fever since he has been on a strong regimen of Prednisone that the doctor has him on. He still continues with night sweats and has had some short, sharp pains in his chest, but not enough to warrant taking Nitro. He says he feels better on the steroid (he will be done taking that drug this coming Tuesday), but I think that I've heard that Prednisone can weaken the immune system and a person is more vulnerable as far as catching any sickness that is going around. Ron is certainly not out of the woods yet that is for sure.

This coming Monday, 6/16 he will be going into the hospital for a Resting Myoview Injection (Nuclear Medicine) at 12:30, then a Resting NUC Med Myoview Scan at 1:30, then a Cardiac Myoview - Male Stress test at 2:00, then a NUC MD Myoview - Male at 3:00...so he will have a lot done that afternoon and it looks like we will be there pretty much all afternoon for these testings. The hospital used to do these tests in a two-day period, but now they do it in one. I think that it is a lot in one afternoon to go through.

Update on Vickis husband: Some of you asked about Mr. G. - thank you. He's doing fine - had a cystoscopy this week. No tumors or problems within the bladder or urinary tract. His doctor wanted to make sure there are no surprises the day of surgery (later this month) when they remove his prostate. So THANK YOU for praying. I appreciate all your comments and emails. Will post soon.

PRAYER for Our Nation

This was shared in an email from the Presidential Prayer Team:

Declaration of Independence Signer

Samuel Chase
George Washington (1732-1799), 1st President of the United States

"Almighty God: We make our earnest prayer that Thou wilt keep the United States in Thy Holy protection; and Thou wilt incline the hearts of the Citizens to cultivate a spirit of subordination and obedience to Government; and to entertain a brotherly affection and love for one another and for their fellow Citizens of the United States at large, and particularly for their brethren who have served in the Field. And finally that Thou wilt most graciously be pleased to dispose us all to do justice, to love mercy, and to demean ourselves with that Charity, humility, and pacific temper of mind which were the Characteristics of the Divine Author of our blessed Religion, and without a humble imitation of whose example in these things we can never hope to be a happy nation. Grant our supplication we beseech Thee, through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen." --

This prayer of George Washington appears in St. Paul's Chapel in New York City.
