PRAYER REQUESTS!

Here at The Lighthouse of Prayer, in hopes that MORE of you will begin to use this site and leave prayers or requests, we experimented with MckLinky's Prayer Request. On October 10th, I installed McLinky Prayer Request and no one seemed to add requests so I have deleted it because it seems to have been causing a MALWARE warning to appear. I'm sorry if this has caused any problems & I have deleted the link so please ADD REQUESTS in COMMENTS as previously. Thank you! Hope by removing it, I have cleared up the problem.

Truly, we all need PRAYER and we ALL need each other to pray with & for us. After all that is what the Bible encourages us as the Body of Christ to be doing. I pray that this stirs up some more of you to come here and lift others in PRAYER. There are many serious prayer concerns and it is part of our commitment and responsibility to one another to lift these to the Throne of God.

10 Bible Verses on Prayer from Care2 make a difference:

Mark 11:24-25 (Importance of Believing in the Power of Prayer) Therefore I tell you, whatever you ask for in prayer, believe that you have received it, and it will be yours. And when you stand praying, if you hold anything against anyone, forgive him, so that your Father in heaven may forgive you your sins.
Romans 8:26( Words on Love) In the same way, the Spirit helps us in our weakness. We do not know what we ought to pray for, but the Spirit himself intercedes for us with groans that words cannot express.
Romans 12:12 ( Words on Love)
Be joyful in hope, patient in affliction, faithful in prayer.
Colossians 4:2
Devote yourselves to prayer, being watchful and thankful.
Ephesians 6:18
And pray in the Spirit on all occasions with all kinds of prayers and requests. With this in mind, be alert and always keep on praying for all the saints.
Phillipians 4:6
Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God.
1 Thessalonians 5:17
Pray continually.
I Timothy 2:8 (Instructions on Worship)
I want men everywhere to lift up holy hands in prayer, without anger or disputing.
James 5:15-16 (About the Prayer of Faith)
Therefore confess your sins to each other and pray for each other so that you may be healed. The prayer of a righteous man is powerful and effective.
Matthew 6:5-13 (About the Prayer of Faith)
"And when you pray, do not be like the hypocrites, for they love to pray standing in the synagogues and on the street corners to be seen by men. I tell you the truth, they have received their reward in full. But when you pray, go into your room, close the door and pray to your Father, who is unseen. Then your Father, who sees what is done in secret, will reward you. And when you pray, do not keep on babbling like pagans, for they think they will be heard because of their many words. Do not be like them, for your Father knows what you need before you ask him. "This, then, is how you should pray: "'Our Father in heaven, hallowed be your name, your kingdom come, your will be done on earth as it is in heaven. Give us today our daily bread. Forgive us our debts, as we also have forgiven our debtors. And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from the evil one.'"

After reading those verses from scripture, don't you have at least one person or prayer request for the King of kings that we can join you in prayer and supplication. We love PRAISE and THANKS GIVING prayers as well. Just speak from your heart. We are here to HEAR from you and more importantly HE IS HERE listening and waiting. PLEASE PRAY FOR ONE ANOTHER IN JESUS' NAME...and stand together as one body in Christ united in prayer. Stewards & disciples of His Word.

PRAYER for Our Nation

This was shared in an email from the Presidential Prayer Team:

Declaration of Independence Signer

Samuel Chase
George Washington (1732-1799), 1st President of the United States

"Almighty God: We make our earnest prayer that Thou wilt keep the United States in Thy Holy protection; and Thou wilt incline the hearts of the Citizens to cultivate a spirit of subordination and obedience to Government; and to entertain a brotherly affection and love for one another and for their fellow Citizens of the United States at large, and particularly for their brethren who have served in the Field. And finally that Thou wilt most graciously be pleased to dispose us all to do justice, to love mercy, and to demean ourselves with that Charity, humility, and pacific temper of mind which were the Characteristics of the Divine Author of our blessed Religion, and without a humble imitation of whose example in these things we can never hope to be a happy nation. Grant our supplication we beseech Thee, through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen." --

This prayer of George Washington appears in St. Paul's Chapel in New York City.
