PRAYER ALERT PETITION to SIGN

Email from the Presidential Prayer Team, Please share with as many as you can.

Associated Press reported earlier today that evangelist Franklin Graham's invitation to speak at a Pentagon prayer service on the National Day of Prayer May 6 has been rescinded by the U.S. Army because of comments he made years ago about Islam.

Graham, the son of evangelist Billy Graham, in 2001 described Islam as "evil." More recently, he has said he finds Islam offensive and wants Muslims to know that Jesus Christ died for their sins. The Associated Press report quoted Army spokesman Col. Tom Collins as saying Graham's remarks were "not appropriate."

The Military Religious Freedom Foundation had raised the objection to Graham's appearance. The invitation for Graham to attend the National Day of Prayer event at the Pentagon wasn't from the military, the report said, but from the Colorado-based National Day of Prayer Task Force, which works with the Pentagon chaplain's office on the prayer event. Since Graham's invitation was rescinded, the task force has decided not to participate in the military prayer service, Collins said.

Enough is enough," said Mrs. James (Shirley) Dobson, chairwoman of the prayer task force "We at the National Day of Prayer Task Force ask the American people to defend the right to pray in the Pentagon.

This is just the latest news surrounding the National Day of Prayer - and we encourage you today to intercede and sign our Declaration of Prayer petition to President Obama defending the National Day of Prayer and our rights to meet together and pray for our nation.

Heavenly Father,

I cry out for our President and others in authority to hear Your voice. For many to repent and realize how desperately our nation needs to be on their knees.

We declare that You have the authority to defend our right to pray and we will not shirk at this awesome privilege to pray as a Nation.

Hear our cry O Lord. Yes, we love our freedom and most specifically our freedom to worship You.

This is outrageous Lord and it must be stopped or changed right now. On May 6th we will gather to pray regardless however, we ask that eyes and ears will be open to hear.

Lord, we lift up Franklin Graham before You and we ask that You reverse this decision against him
speaking Lord. We come against any malicious evil that is trying to take Your rightful place. We are not against Muslim's freedom, we just want ours and be able to speak truth to them. So we release God's truth and come against the lies of their beliefs.

We thank You that we can come to You and ask You to reign once more over the United States of America. You are the only God of our nation! We praise You!
We exalt You! You are more powerful and the One, true God! There is no other! Build up an army Lord, and tear down these evils in our nation. We pray that many will sign this petition and that it will have an impact! We rise up to declare we are more than conquerors in Christ Jesus!

We stand united and ask that
President Obama and this MRFF & task force would reconsider their decisions. Hear us O Lord!

In Jesus name!

Dear God, I have felt emotional pain and I have experienced physical pain. I have seen the affects of all kinds of pain in other people's lives. It is not pretty. I hope and pray that I will always be able to reach out to others, think of them, think of good things, think of you, rather than focus on my own pain. When I am able to reach out and help someone else, my spirit is filled with joy, happiness, and satisfaction. It takes my mind off my own pain and problems, and directs it to a better perspective. Please minister through me to ease the pain of my family, friends, neighbors, coworkers, church leaders, whoever needs a special touch. In Jesus' name I pray, amen.

PRAYER for Our Nation

This was shared in an email from the Presidential Prayer Team:

Declaration of Independence Signer

Samuel Chase
George Washington (1732-1799), 1st President of the United States

"Almighty God: We make our earnest prayer that Thou wilt keep the United States in Thy Holy protection; and Thou wilt incline the hearts of the Citizens to cultivate a spirit of subordination and obedience to Government; and to entertain a brotherly affection and love for one another and for their fellow Citizens of the United States at large, and particularly for their brethren who have served in the Field. And finally that Thou wilt most graciously be pleased to dispose us all to do justice, to love mercy, and to demean ourselves with that Charity, humility, and pacific temper of mind which were the Characteristics of the Divine Author of our blessed Religion, and without a humble imitation of whose example in these things we can never hope to be a happy nation. Grant our supplication we beseech Thee, through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen." --

This prayer of George Washington appears in St. Paul's Chapel in New York City.
