Dear Heavenly Father,

Be with Maria and Cody! Shower them with Your Comfort and Peace! Embrace them as they ache at the loss of their precious Susana yet rejoice that she is in Your arms, and will suffer no more. Hear their praise and their pain:

"Susana finished her race on 02/11/11 at 12:15 PM

Susana Raquel Whittaker is now in the presence of our great and glorious God. She ran her race. She ran well. We held her hand and led her into the arms of Jesus. Our hearts groan like never before. But we rejoice in our God who loves us so much and has brought our little girl into heaven where she now sees Him face to face. Soon, my beloved Susana, and very soon, we too are going to see the King."

Since I was praying for them and then saw the above, my heart is heavy and the tears overwhelm me as
I read these words after I had read The Climb to Moriah

Lord, Grief is such a long path. Please surround these parents, Isabela (Susana's sister)and the hearts of other loved ones. You understand the pain and You know the numbness flooding their spirit.
We praise and rejoice in Susana's homecoming and thank You how You will use this to further Your glory. But please cover this family with loving arms of support as they grieve and remember the good memories they shared with their precious daughter Susana. Be glorified! Be with them and never let go! Give them the courage to continue in HOPE! Send in others to hold up their arms! Wrap them with
Your JOY and bind up their broken hearts! Bring a little gladness to their hearts instead of morning and remind them of the crown of beauty instead of ashes. Praise You that they know and profess the Truth and hold on to their Hope in You and Your promises...You bring comfort to all who mourn and provide for those who grieve and a garment of praise for the spirit of heaviness!

Ohhh, Lord, call your people to rally around Cody and Maria just as the 50 joined them in praise, still we will praise You and praise will lift us to see the power of Your resurrection and not dwell at the great pain of their loss! We all love You Lord and trust in You to hold them in Your arms as they bear their grief and move forward in You in Jesus' Name...

PRAYER for Our Nation

This was shared in an email from the Presidential Prayer Team:

Declaration of Independence Signer

Samuel Chase
George Washington (1732-1799), 1st President of the United States

"Almighty God: We make our earnest prayer that Thou wilt keep the United States in Thy Holy protection; and Thou wilt incline the hearts of the Citizens to cultivate a spirit of subordination and obedience to Government; and to entertain a brotherly affection and love for one another and for their fellow Citizens of the United States at large, and particularly for their brethren who have served in the Field. And finally that Thou wilt most graciously be pleased to dispose us all to do justice, to love mercy, and to demean ourselves with that Charity, humility, and pacific temper of mind which were the Characteristics of the Divine Author of our blessed Religion, and without a humble imitation of whose example in these things we can never hope to be a happy nation. Grant our supplication we beseech Thee, through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen." --

This prayer of George Washington appears in St. Paul's Chapel in New York City.
