PRAISES, ANSWERS and THANKS: Part I

Here at the Lighthouse of Prayer, we lift each other up and pray for our needs and those of others we see here and there throughout "blogland".

“I will praise you, O LORD, with all my heart” Psalm 9:1
"Praise should always follow answered prayer, just like the mist of earth’s gratitude rises when the sun of heaven’s love warms the ground. Has the Lord been gracious to you, and heard your voice as your earnestly pray? Then praise Him as long as you live! Don’t deny a song to Him who has answered your prayer and given you the desire of your heart." Originally written by Charles H. Spurgeon, published in “Mornings & Evenings,” entry for October 30th, AM. Updated to modern English by Darren Hewer, 2008
A while back, it was suggested to me to include PRAISE reports!!! Why of course, we always want to come back and give glory to Our Lord, praise Him and thank Him. In fact, I'm sure that we had a place long ago when we started here. So since we try to keep everything as a prayer around here, I was not sure how this might work ... but I'm leaving it up to YOU! I have noticed some PRAISE shared in the Prayer Requests (that I truly appreciate) but I just wanted to make a special place

If at all possible, write your PRAISE, ANSWER or THANKS in a form of a prayer ...

Bible Verses Spoken from Freedom 01, Hearing God

"I will bless the LORD at all times; His praise shall continually be in my mouth."
 Psalm 34:1

"I will also praise You with a harp, even Your truth, O my God; to You I will sing praises with the lyre, O Holy One of Israel. My lips will shout for joy when I sing praises to You; and my soul, which You have redeemed."
 Psalm 71:22-23

"SHOUT joyfully to the LORD, all the earth. Serve the LORD with gladness; come before Him with joyful singing.
Know that the LORD Himself is God; it is He who has made us, and not we ourselves; we are His people and the sheep of His pasture.
Enter His gates with thanksgiving and His courts with praise. Give thanks to Him, bless His name. For the LORD is good; His lovingkindness is everlasting and His faithfulness to all generations."
 Psalm 100:1-5

"Bless the LORD, O my soul, and all that is within me, bless His holy name. Bless the LORD, O my soul, and forget none of His benefits; who pardons all your iniquities, who heals all your diseases; who redeems your life from the pit, who crowns you with lovingkindness and compassion; who satisfies your years with good things, so that your youth is renewed like the eagle." Psalm 103:1-5

"Bless the LORD, you His angels, mighty in strength, who perform His word, obeying the voice of His word! Bless the LORD, all you His hosts, You who serve Him, doing His will.
Bless the LORD, all you works of His, in all places of His dominion; bless the LORD, O my soul!"
 Psalm 103:20-22

"PRAISE the LORD! Praise, O servants of the LORD, praise the name of the LORD. Blessed be the name of the LORD from this time forth and forever.
From the rising of the sun to its setting the name of the LORD is to be praised. The LORD is high above all nations; His glory is above the heavens."
Psalm 113:1-4

"I will extol You, my God, O King, and I will bless Your name forever and ever. Every day I will bless You, and I will praise Your name forever and ever.
Great is the LORD, and highly to be praised, and His greatness is unsearchable. One generation shall praise Your works to another, and shall declare Your mighty acts.
On the glorious splendor of Your majesty and on Your wonderful works, I will meditate. Men shall speak of the power of Your awesome acts, and I will tell of Your greatness.
They shall eagerly utter the memory of Your abundant goodness and will shout joyfully of Your righteousness."
 Psalm 145:1-7

and more:
Psalm 148:1-5
Ephesians 1:3
Hebrews 13:15
James 5:13

I had this as "September Praise... but if this looks like it will work out, I will make it a regular feature each month. If you asked the Lord for any request that He has answered, let us join together and give Him all the praise, glory and honor He most definitely deserves. To God be the glory for great things He has done (and will do)!!!

Today's Prayer from TGIF for all of YOU who pray here from me (peggy)

Dear God, Thank you for all of the special people you have placed in my life to complete me. Thank you for my few friends who are truly friends, for my soul mate, for my Christian brothers and sisters.

I pray now for those who do not have a special person to complete their lives. Please send the right person along who can be the one to offer encouragement, friendship, loving guidance, unconditional love, and to just be there. I pray that a bond of Christian love with develop and that both people will be uplifted.

Please forgive me for not always letting my special people know how much they mean, and help me to show them their importance in my life. I praise you and thank you for always being there for me, too, and for your promise to never leave nor forsake me. In Jesus' name I pray. Amen.

I also lift up and stand together with those who are facing relationship difficulties in their marriages or with others and ask You, Almighty LORD to restore, heal and mend the hearts and lives. Thank You and praise You for all You are doing and changing even right now as we pray.

3) my friend JR has been in hospital with typhoid fever and is doing well. Praise God for making a way to get medical help.

PRAYER for Our Nation

This was shared in an email from the Presidential Prayer Team:

Declaration of Independence Signer

Samuel Chase
George Washington (1732-1799), 1st President of the United States

"Almighty God: We make our earnest prayer that Thou wilt keep the United States in Thy Holy protection; and Thou wilt incline the hearts of the Citizens to cultivate a spirit of subordination and obedience to Government; and to entertain a brotherly affection and love for one another and for their fellow Citizens of the United States at large, and particularly for their brethren who have served in the Field. And finally that Thou wilt most graciously be pleased to dispose us all to do justice, to love mercy, and to demean ourselves with that Charity, humility, and pacific temper of mind which were the Characteristics of the Divine Author of our blessed Religion, and without a humble imitation of whose example in these things we can never hope to be a happy nation. Grant our supplication we beseech Thee, through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen." --

This prayer of George Washington appears in St. Paul's Chapel in New York City.
