PRAISE REPORTS

PRAISE, ANSWER, THANKS

Here at the Lighthouse of Prayer, we lift each other up and pray for our needs and those of others we see here and there throughout "blogland". I've decided to move the PRAYER REQUESTS back to the regular blog post (position in the middle of the scrollbars after the intro and Fetch a Prayer (by the way, if you have not tried these they are really great and easy to use, don't be afraid to click on them and try them out) and removed it from the PAGES here at the top. We don't give God praise for His answers often enough. Some do, in their prayers, of course, or individually; yet it's time to prioritize that here (even if it's not the answer we hoped for, God does answer.)

“I will praise you, O LORD, with all my heart.” Psalm 9:1
"Praise should always follow answered prayer, just like the mist of earth’s gratitude rises when the sun of heaven’s love warms the ground. Has the Lord been gracious to you, and heard your voice as your earnestly pray? Then praise Him as long as you live! Don’t deny a song to Him who has answered your prayer and given you the desire of your heart."
[Originally written by Charles H. Spurgeon, published in “Mornings and Evenings,” entry for October 30th, AM. Updated to modern English by Darren Hewer, 2008]
Quite a while back, it was suggested to me to include PRAISE reports!!! And so I did every once in awhile add a post to do just that. I guess I was thinking that we would do this in our regular PRAYER REQUESTS (once an answer or praise or thanks was given for a prayer request) yet often we forget to come back and report ... so ...

Why of course, we always want to come back and give glory to Our Lord, praise Him and thank Him. In fact, I'm sure that we had a place long ago when we started here. So since we try to keep everything as a prayer around here, I was not sure how this might work ... but I'm leaving it up to YOU! I have noticed some PRAISE shared in the regular Prayer Requests (that I truly appreciate) but I just wanted to make a special place to do this. If at all possible, it would be nice if you remember when the request was made to indicate that also (when we first prayed about this, for example, March 2013 Prayer Request) ...

We tried this back in September 2012 (Part I) then there was a (Part II.), if you'd like to see how it was done then, read or view a video with some scriptures on PRAISE, click on Part I. This is one for 2013.

If at all possible, write your PRAISE, ANSWER or THANKS in a form of a prayer ... Thank you and God bless!

Heavenly Father, I'm here to start this out by giving thanks for the prayers lifted up on behalf of my husband after he had the rollover truck accident and then the surgery for the disc (C3-4) that slipped. Since those discs are in the neck region closest to the head/brain, this was a critical surgery and came close to being fatal. But YOU, O God are great and merciful, Your Mighty Power and Hand of a Great Physician was right there, guiding and making sure that the bleeding was not a main artery or fatal. I give You praise!

Only by Your hand, did he go from intensive care back to regular care in a day and left the hospital miraculously only 3 days after and his recuperation has been steady. Although painful and difficult to adjust or slow him down, You watch and take care of him, every step. I give You all the glory, praise and honor. I thank You, O LORD that You use times like these to show how great You are. I thank You for all You made possible for me and my trip immediately home to be there for the surgery. I thank You for placing all the open doors before me and making a way.

I thank You for opportunities given me. I thank You for time spent home caring for this man You placed in my life. I trust You with every detail.

I thank You for my sisters in Christ that gathered around me to pray and intercede. I thank You that even after he came home and I was completely wiped out with that horrible "influenza" that we call Montezuma's revenge when it's both ends... that even then You took care of me and provided care for him while I was down and recovering so he was not infected by me.

I thank You for all my good medical reports on all I was able to get done quickly (also arranged by You with such so time notice, only You could put this together).

I thank You greatly that although I did not know it, You even protected my sweet baby Chiquitita (dog) who I thought was dead, was just in hiding ... only You!!! I am so thankful for all You did during the middle of March to even my return here in MX in early April (all by Your Divine hand and direction and provision)! I cannot thank You enough. I am aware of every part that was put in place except one (but I do believe I saw some softening and interest of my husband toward his salvation) ...at least he listened to me share my version of the salvation message (tract right above Zephaniah 3:17 in the right sidebar) the evening before I left and when he asked the morning of his surgery "why I really came now?", thank You for giving me my response ... that it was because "YOU sent me" ... if You can send me to MX, You certainly can send and arrange for me to be there for him at such a time as this. I'm so thankful that it was not his last chance to hear or receive the message of his need for a Savior (Jesus Christ) as His Lord that only through Jesus will he come to You, Father.

I ask in Your Name that he still receive You in his heart and life as Jesus Christ, Son of the Father God and Son of Man that came so that he might have eternal life. Please help his eyes and heart and mind to open up to this Truth and realize that Jesus is all this and more before his time does end. I release him to You and the work of Your Holy Spirit in him and around him. Plant people around him that boldly confess You as LORD.

Thank You for the people that are there and believe, take away the ones that are not or a negative influence or change their hearts as well in Jesus' name. Thank You for each person, medical and friends that held us up in prayer and good care. Bless each one in Jesus' Name.

Thank You for the great medical neurosurgeon, other doctors and therapists that were involved.

(end of my prayer above, since it was way too long)

Thank You for the time with our daughter that You gave me. Protect her and draw her close to You, make a way for her to be with her children in church with reliable transportation and people to help her. Thank You for each of her children. Be with them! Help them with the dysfunctions of their family and home life. Help their schools, teachers, etc. to watch out for them. Help our daughter make good healthy choices and decisions. Protect them from all evil. Keep each one safe. Guard them from the influence of those around them. Weed out the bad influences. Set their feet upon the Rock of Jesus Christ. Remind our daughter how much You have done for her and her need for You daily in her life and in the life of her children. Bring her brother closer to her and help him make the changes in his heart and life that returns him to You as well (and maybe a call or email to me). Have Your will and thank You for the time that You placed these 2 in my life as our adopted children now adults so that You and they may know each other and the time You gave me as their mother. Bless their biological parents (especially their mom) and do a work in her life as well. Thank You for each one and the way You put our lives together to impact others. Thank You for those who impact my life for the good with their love and prayers in Jesus' name ... I am eternally grateful to You for them and to You forever.

I love You!

I praise You!

I thank You so much for every answer!

PRAYER for Our Nation

This was shared in an email from the Presidential Prayer Team:

Declaration of Independence Signer

Samuel Chase
George Washington (1732-1799), 1st President of the United States

"Almighty God: We make our earnest prayer that Thou wilt keep the United States in Thy Holy protection; and Thou wilt incline the hearts of the Citizens to cultivate a spirit of subordination and obedience to Government; and to entertain a brotherly affection and love for one another and for their fellow Citizens of the United States at large, and particularly for their brethren who have served in the Field. And finally that Thou wilt most graciously be pleased to dispose us all to do justice, to love mercy, and to demean ourselves with that Charity, humility, and pacific temper of mind which were the Characteristics of the Divine Author of our blessed Religion, and without a humble imitation of whose example in these things we can never hope to be a happy nation. Grant our supplication we beseech Thee, through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen." --

This prayer of George Washington appears in St. Paul's Chapel in New York City.
