TUESDAY'S TOPIC: SPIRITUAL POWER

Tuesday's Topic is not meant just for Tuesday. It's just that we are trying to share scriptures on specific themes to pray and we post when we can on Tues.
These topics are for EVERY DAY, ANY DAY whenever YOU MAY NEED THEM.

THERE IS POWER IN PRAYER! THERE IS POWER IN THE WORD of GOD! We want to encourage you to combine these two with the POWER of the HOLY SPIRIT and rise up with a renewed faith, more victory and more results in your prayer life.

For this reason, we will be sharing scriptures for YOU in your Christian Walk.
Praying the Word of God leads us to walking in the Word of God. The power of prayer flows from the Word of God. The Word of God is our sure defense against the enemy that is why Ephesians 6:11-18 should be prayed daily as we put on  the full armor of God to protect ourselves as we take up the Sword of the Spirit, which is the Word of God (the Bible). Personalizing scripture in your prayers will make your prayers effectual and power packed.

TOPIC today is SPIRITUAL POWER: Being filled with the Holy Spirit

Ephesians 5:18-20

[We will provide a prayer starter and the scriptures to turn into YOUR powerful prayer...] Just try it. Combine the scriptures or just focus on praying one.
Heavenly Father.

Other scriptures: Luke 1:15, Acts 2:4, Acts 4:31. Acts 9:17, Acts 19:2,6,

You promised that You would not leave us comfortless, so You sent Your Spirit to fill (us)(me) and guide (us)(me)...

Your Spirit gives me power to be Your witness and to speak Your Word with boldness.

Being filled with Your Word, Lord, I will give myself continually to prayer and Your Word. Help me to remember that the infilling of the Holy Spirit brings wisdom and faith. Help me to draw upon the power of Your Spirit each day of my life.

God, I come to You seeking Your face, searching for answers so I can do something about the problems. There is so much turmoil in the world. There have been so many disasters, many beyond man's control. I pray that You will broaden the minds the people affected by each incident and open their eyes to see what You want them to learn. And I pray that they will respond in the right way. I know that You sometimes allow pressures in my life to bring attention to an issue You want me to take care of too. I pray today, that You as my Loving Father will make known anything that stands in the way of fellowship between You and I. I want to turn from any wrongdoing, and "step up to the plate" to do the right thing, no matter how great or how simple it may seem. I praise You for Who You are, for all You do, and for the fellowship we share through prayer. In Jesus' name, amen.

Scripture: So they set out and went from village to village, preaching the gospel and healing people everywhere. -Luke 9:6

Lord, how awesome are Your deeds! There is no one who is mighty like You. You are Lord over all the nations of the earth. You have made the heavens, the earth and everything on it, the seas and all that is in them. Let the whole earth be filled with Your glory.

Lord, just as you sent out your first disciples to proclaim Your Word, You have called me to go in Your name. As I have opportunity to share with others about You, I ask that You would confirm Your Word by healing the sick, the lame and the blind.

Testify to the truth of Your Gospel by the miracle working power of Your right hand. I make myself available to You Lord as an instrument of Your grace, and compassion. Shatter the doubts of the unbelieving by healing the sick and afflicted. Draw them out of darkness and into Your Glorious kingdom of light. That the name of Jesus might be high and lifted up.

Meet Them in the Lonely Place

Scripture: But Jesus often withdrew to lonely places and prayed. -Luke 5:16

Prayer: Lord, You are the Father of compassion and the God of all comfort, who comforts us in all our troubles. You are the One who never changes, and You know all the concerns of our heart.

Lord I call Your attention to the soldiers serving my country right now. Would You please visit with them today Lord? Being far from home and those they love is a lonely place. Jesus, You often went to lonely places to pray, I’m asking that You would go to that lonely place within the soldiers serving my country today and pray with them.

Be the comfort that they need, meet them in their weakness, and share with them in their loneliness. Strengthen them Lord with Your presence, encourage their hearts, and restore their hope. Be the companion to them that they need at this time, and show Yourself to the soldiers serving my country as the God of all comfort. Amen.

Praying for: the prodigals in my neighbohood

Reveal Jesus

Scripture: “And He, when He comes, will convict the world concerning sin, and righteousness, and judgment…” -John 16:8

Prayer: Father, we thank You that mercy triumphs over judgment. You are slow to anger, abounding in lovingkindness, and are ready to show compassion to all who call upon You.

Jesus, I bring the prodigals in my neighbohood before You, who are facing the tug of war between life and death. I ask that You would release your Holy Spirit to convict them about eternal realities. According to Your promise, I ask that there would be a sudden awareness of sin, righteousness and judgment.

I accept Your word saying You do not wish for any to perish but for all to come to repentance. Let it be so! Father, we ask that You would touch the prodigals in my neighbohood today with the revelation of Your Son. Bring back to their memory the stories they have heard about Jesus; release an awareness of Christ’s presence; and let dreams and supernatural signs come down that confirm You are the Lord, and the Prince of Peace.

Break the prodigals in my neighbohood free from the power of darkness, and release to them the revelation they need to trust in Jesus.

Thank You Father for sister Peggy, and her many prayers for others daily. I lift Peggy, and all of her prayer needs before You Father. Revive, and restore her, give her much strength for the daily battles she faces. Keep increasing her faith, love, and peace Father. May she forever be blessed, as she blesses others daily. Thank You Father. Amen

Prayers for GRIEF...still mourning but God says that He will comfort those who mourn and also that He gives us a garment of praise for the spirit of heaviness (Isaiah 61):

"O LORD, You have examined my heart and know everything about me. . . . Thank you for making me so wonderfully complex. . . . You saw me before I was born. Every day of my life was recorded in your book. Every moment was laid out before a single day had passed"
(Psalm 139:1, 14, 16 NLT).

Father, thank You that my way of grieving is distinctly my own, reflective of all You have sovereignly created me to be and experience. Amen.

"But those who hope in the LORD will renew their strength. They will soar on wings like eagles; they will run and not grow weary, they will walk and not be faint" (Isaiah 40:31).

Lord God, teach me to embrace my grief and not fight it, so that I may experience the true healing that comes from You. Amen.

PRAYER for Our Nation

This was shared in an email from the Presidential Prayer Team:

Declaration of Independence Signer

Samuel Chase
George Washington (1732-1799), 1st President of the United States

"Almighty God: We make our earnest prayer that Thou wilt keep the United States in Thy Holy protection; and Thou wilt incline the hearts of the Citizens to cultivate a spirit of subordination and obedience to Government; and to entertain a brotherly affection and love for one another and for their fellow Citizens of the United States at large, and particularly for their brethren who have served in the Field. And finally that Thou wilt most graciously be pleased to dispose us all to do justice, to love mercy, and to demean ourselves with that Charity, humility, and pacific temper of mind which were the Characteristics of the Divine Author of our blessed Religion, and without a humble imitation of whose example in these things we can never hope to be a happy nation. Grant our supplication we beseech Thee, through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen." --

This prayer of George Washington appears in St. Paul's Chapel in New York City.
