A Blessed & Happy New Year

... let's start the year right in prayer for one another ...

PERSONAL PRAYER REQUESTS and HOW THE LIGHTHOUSE WORKS

If this is your first visit, please stop by here and read a little bit about our ministry--how we are joining together to lift others to God in prayer. However, what you read here and in the posts is actually enough.

Maybe you come across someone that needs prayer while visiting blogs, instead of just saying, "Praying for you", do so and bring their prayer need and leave your prayer here and let them know that you left a prayer for them at the Lighthouse of Prayer

This is an interactive blog based on a comment and response system. YOU are a part of our Prayer Team - the minute you add your prayer in the comment area or leave one for someone else in the reply under their prayer.

PLEASE WRITE YOUR PRAYER, PRAYER REQUEST, PRAISE, THANKS - in the place that would normally read COMMENTS after the most recent post, but here it reads "PRAYERS LIFTED TO THE THRONE of GOD"... since a LINKY is no longer available. We begun using a PRAYER REQUEST LINKY, but if it's not there, please leave PRAYER or REQUEST in "PRAYERS LIFTED TO THE THRONE of GOD" (the area for comments but do not write a comment) Thank you so much! Looking at this new template, it's difficult to know how to leave a comment (Prayer) but just click on the part that says __ comments. [it __ shows a number for how many comments/prayers are currently posted]

We'd love to see your prayer requests and praises to God in this area and hopefully others will be supporting you through their prayers written as a response to your prayer there. Be sure to come back and see the prayers lifting you and yours together to the LORD or leave one! You can also remain anonymous, God knows you.

Please remember NO COMMENTS, only PRAYERS! It is important that this be a house of prayer. Any comment, not as a prayer or prayer request will be deleted. Thanks again!

Please read announcement in Oct. 2014 first to understand better the lack of activity here! Thank you.

Day 4 - God Loves You

John 3:16 “For God so loved the world, that He gave His only begotten Son, that who-ever believes in Him should not perish, but have eternal life.”

Jeremiah 31:3 “The LORD appeared to him from afar, [saying,] “I have loved you with an everlasting love; Therefore I have drawn you with loving-kindness.”
1 Kings 8:23 “And he said, ‘O LORD, the God of Israel, there is no God like Thee in heaven above or on earth beneath, who art keeping covenant and [showing] loving-kindness to Thy servants who walk before Thee with all their heart…”

Zephaniah 3:17 “The LORD your God is in your midst, A victorious warrior. He will exult over you with joy, He will be quiet in His love, He will rejoice over you with shouts of joy.”

Job 10:12 “Thou hast granted me life and loving-kindness; And Thy care has preserved my spirit.”

You can turn these Scripture verses into your prayer!

examples in today's prayer:

"You love me with an everlasting love."

"You are abounding in love
to all who call upon You,"

"Lord, I have never been loved by anyone the way You love me. I’m sorry that at times I have doubted Your love and acceptance." ... Click here to finish Prayer

O Heavenly Father, Thank You for loving me with Your everlasting love and Your mercies are new every morning. I love You so much! Thank You for sending Our Lord Jesus, the perfect love and sacrifice so that we would not perish but have eternal life as He took and paid for all our sins if we just believe and accept Him as Lord and Savior.

There is none like You, O Lord! Thank You for such loving kindness. Holy Spirit keep this servant walking before You with all my heart turned toward You in everything.

Thank You Victorious Warrior for going before me and fighting my battles. You are with me in the midst and I give You praise and thanks. You are quiet in Your love. You rejoice over me with shouts of joy. You have given me the victory and I exalt You even before I see it.

Thank You for granting me life and loving-kindness for Your care, Your Divine care, has preserved my spirit and anoints my life with Your power, Your grace, Your mercy, and Your eternal love!

Help me this day to give back a portion of that love to You and then to others in Jesus' name

Dear Heavenly Father, I am truly honored to be loved by You. There is no greater love than Yours. Please forgive me for the times I have doubted Your love for me. May I always be ready, and very willing to share Your love with others. Amen

I clicked over to a YouVersion 3 day reading plan "Grace Untamed" and found this for today and also Love God Greatly's last prayer for Day 54 of "Growing through Prayer" focus on GOD'S LOVE:

"You Are Loved… No, Really
By Elyse Fitzpatrick
How would you live today if you knew at the very bottom of your soul that you were loved? You know what that would do? It would free you from having to make sure you were being loved. How much chasing after being loved have you done? How much effort have you poured into your pursuit of being loved?
God’s one-way love for us is the only love that can free us from our incessant pursuit of the love of others. We must be done with all that! I’ll tell you why: because no matter how many people you get to love you, it will never be enough. Let me remind you of Haman in the book of Esther. Haman had everyone in the entire city bowing down to him when he rode by, but it wasn’t enough. He didn’t have Mordecai’s worship, and it drove him crazy. Even though we can see the stupidity of Haman’s deadly desire, you and I act the same way. It doesn’t matter how much we are loved by others; it never totally satisfies because the holes in our hearts weren’t meant to be filled by anything other than a perfect love—the love of God.
But here’s the good news: through the gospel, we get to be free from that slavery. We’ve been loved by Somebody who knows our hearts, who sees every dark and doubtful thing within them. And yet He loves us and He gives Himself for us.
God’s grace liberates us from this kind of gluttony for love. I don’t need to seek endlessly and fruitlessly to be loved anymore. The perfect love of Christ has satisfied my need and driven out my fear.
Thought to Remember for Today:
You are already more loved than you could ever dare hope. This love didn’t come to you because you are wonderful; it isn’t something you earned by your good behavior. That’s really great news, because if God’s love were something we could earn by our good behavior, then His love would be something we could lose by our bad behavior. God’s love rests on us because of His gracious choice of us in Christ, and that love is indestructible." - Grace Untamed by Elyse Fitzpatrick

"Father God, I thank You Lord for loving me out of the darkness. I thank You for sacrificing Your Son for me, Lord, help me to totally rely on You, trust You completely, and surrender all of my problems and my pain to You ... knowing that You love me as Your own. In Jesus' name. Amen." Psalm 51 - Love God Greatly (LGG)

PRAYER for Our Nation

This was shared in an email from the Presidential Prayer Team:

Declaration of Independence Signer

Samuel Chase
George Washington (1732-1799), 1st President of the United States

"Almighty God: We make our earnest prayer that Thou wilt keep the United States in Thy Holy protection; and Thou wilt incline the hearts of the Citizens to cultivate a spirit of subordination and obedience to Government; and to entertain a brotherly affection and love for one another and for their fellow Citizens of the United States at large, and particularly for their brethren who have served in the Field. And finally that Thou wilt most graciously be pleased to dispose us all to do justice, to love mercy, and to demean ourselves with that Charity, humility, and pacific temper of mind which were the Characteristics of the Divine Author of our blessed Religion, and without a humble imitation of whose example in these things we can never hope to be a happy nation. Grant our supplication we beseech Thee, through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen." --

This prayer of George Washington appears in St. Paul's Chapel in New York City.
