If this is your first visit, please stop by here and read a little bit about our ministry--how we are joining together to lift others to God in prayer. However, what you read here and in the posts is actually enough.

Maybe you come across someone that needs prayer while visiting blogs, instead of just saying, "Praying for you", do so and bring their prayer need and leave your prayer here and let them know that you left a prayer for them at the Lighthouse of Prayer

This is an interactive blog based on a comment and response system. YOU are a part of our Prayer Team - the minute you add your prayer in the comment area or leave one for someone else in the reply under their prayer.

PLEASE WRITE YOUR PRAYER, PRAYER REQUEST, PRAISE, THANKS - in the place that would normally read COMMENTS after the most recent post, but here it reads "PRAYERS LIFTED TO THE THRONE of GOD"... since a LINKY is no longer available. We begun using a PRAYER REQUEST LINKY, but if it's not there, please leave PRAYER or REQUEST in "PRAYERS LIFTED TO THE THRONE of GOD" (the area for comments but do not write a comment) Thank you so much! Looking at this new template, it's difficult to know how to leave a comment (Prayer) but just click on the part that says __ comments. [it __ shows a number for how many comments/prayers are currently posted]

We'd love to see your prayer requests and praises to God in this area and hopefully others will be supporting you through their prayers written as a response to your prayer there. Be sure to come back and see the prayers lifting you and yours together to the LORD or leave one! You can also remain anonymous, God knows you.

Please remember NO COMMENTS, only PRAYERS! It is important that this be a house of prayer. Any comment, not as a prayer or prayer request will be deleted. Thanks again!

Please read announcement in Oct. 2014 first to understand better the lack of activity here! Thank you.

As the eagle flies on the wings of morning
Like the sun that rises in the eastern sky

With a voice of praise and a heart that's overflowing
I worship You the living God Most High...

[to hear this song & see a beautiful video of "ADORATION"]
[the video is on the right; just the song on the left]

I'd like to start a new tradition at "The Lighthouse of Prayer" of starting our week off with PRAYERS of ADORATION and PRAISE or anytime you come here stop by the post for PRAYERS of ADORATION and PRAISE first before you leave

A prayer of ADORATION comes from the heart, expressing our love, awe, respect or reverence to God. It actually means to put one's hands up to their mouth to give a kiss to the one they are worshiping.

There is and will be another post for leaving your prayer petitions (requests or needs of others) so that we may intercede together with you. This one is for PRAISE and ADORATION ONLY please! Write your PRAYER of ADORATION and PRAISE to God in "PRAYERS LIFTED TO THE THRONE of GOD" (normally for comments but prayers only here)(no comments-thank you)

Psalm 18:1-3

For scripture and more PRAISE and ADORATION go to our previous post HERE. Look for this each SUN ... SONday

31 Days of Praise

Prayer Requests this Week (petitions for others) is a separate post

* this post was moved forward from last Sunday and lyrics of 1st song shortened...

My Father,

I come to you this morning with joy in my heart that I can call you My Father. You are the great I AM, the Creator of the universe--all on heaven and earth.

I stood outside this morning and gazed at the stars in wonder--imagining You placing each of them in the sky.

You have provided for me in so many ways--ways that I used to thing of as coincidence or "a helpful person". I know now that You were at work in my life always--years before I ever sought a relationship with You. But, You were chasing after me, and I thank You for this. Coincidence is not a word I use any longer--You know this about me, God.

You know all things about me--my thoughts, my words before they ever leave my mouth. You see deep into my heart.

I admit that there are times when my words and thoughts and actions are not what You would have me say, think, or do, and for this I seek Your forgiveness.

You have all power and strength. You are ever faithful, unchanging, love me unconditionally.

Help me on this journey in my life--especially this healing journey--to show others the same grace that You have shown me.

You are a loving Father. You always know what is best for me. Help me to follow You more and more each moment of my life.

Let Your voice be the loudest voice in my heart and mind--even when You speak in a guiet whisper.

I have prayed prayers of surrender last evening--again prayers of surrender. Only You have the power and strength and love to see me through this day and every day of my life. I ask, Father, that You pour Your Holy Spirit into me until it overflows. Fill me, Lord, fill me.

Guide me in my surrender to You. I do not want to be of this world. I am Your child, the child you dearly love. Thank You for loving me. Help me to be the child that You want me to be.

Thank you, Father, for the most wonderful sacrifice of Your own Son, Jesus. He is our example....our example of how we should live our lives, who we should be, how we should act. Thank You for sending Jesus to earth that so we could know and You more clearly.

Help me to be a candle, Lord. I want to be a candle that is forever burning for You...a light in this fallen world...a light that others will see and wonder.

You have all the answers. When someone asks me a question about You and I don't know the answer, let me not be ashamed. Fill my mind with the words I am to speak.

Help me this day to be kind and gracious, patient, loving to all those I will encounter. Help me especially with the difficult people...I know You love them just as much as You love me. Teach me how to love difficult people for this is something that is very hard for me. Teach me what to so and do.

Help me to be more and more like Jesus every moment of my life. He is Your Son--fully God, fully man...our living example of You in all Your glory.

I love You, Lord, and I stand amazed at the wonderment of Your creation. You are everything to me, and I desire to surrender more and more of myself to You.

In Your Son's most precious Name I pray...

Your loving daughter,

Father, Son and Holy Spirit...

How I look forward each day to PRAISING You! How wonderful to see that other bloggers are rejoicing in PRAISING YOU! What a wonderful month December will be filled with PRAISES of 31 days with Twinkle Mom at Sunflower Faith!!! How beautiful to prepare our hearts during this season with PRAISE! For You are so worthy to be praised!

I pray that as this month approaches and a month of giving
THANKS in November, that I will have the strength to overcome the heaviness of this month and praise You with them. I dread in many ways facing this month because of the tragic loss of my friend and the 6th of Dec. will mark one whole year, but still I will PRAISE YOU!
It is because of YOU that I can lay down this heavy heart and put on a garment of PRAISE! When the tears well up inside of me, I will remember how You embrace us, comfort us and give us eternal HOPE in You. I will not dwell in the pit but I will recall Your triumph over
death and sin. I will not look to the grave but hold on to Your resurrection. I will take off the mourning robes with Your help and healing and I will find consolation in Your arms. No one can understand the grief, I is so different than any of my loved ones. I cannot even share the grief with his family, not because of any language barrier but because of their Catholic beliefs and lifestyle. I ache for his mother.
I must hold of my beliefs and seem all together in my hope in Christ though inside I tremble and shake
with my own grief. You know this,
O Lord and only You can restore my Joy. I will Praise and celebrate the life around me and give You thanks as I rest in You and Your Comfort.

I praise You for Your peace!

I praise You for Your strength.

I praise You that when I cry, You are with me and wipe away my tears.

I praise You that I can pray still, sometimes my mind is clear and focused on You and Your Spirit flows with words of prayer & praise
and always thankful for each day and breath.

I praise You that when I am weak, You are strong!

I praise You that my sisters in Christ come and praise & lift prayers to You on behalf of so many.

I praise You for Your power and Your strength that help me face each day.

I praise You for Your Word, Your promises, Your sweet reminders of Your love!

Thank You! I love You! I adore You!
I exalt You, three in One!

I give You all honor, glory and praise forever more!!!

Dear Heavenly Father, I cleave myself to you and I trust in you. I will not fear the flesh that fades like grass in the field soon to wither. Tomorrow I have a court hearing for a credit card bill that my husband says we have paid off. We don't have any proof of this because we don't know which bank account it was paid off with. We closed accounts with other banks in order to downsize. My God everything looks dismal with this. However, you are the one with the perfect plan. Please Dearest Lord go before me and set me free from this. I ask that you cover the Precious Blood of Jesus over myself and my family for protection. Lord you know the state of our finances and that we have no monies nor savings to speak of. Our pockets our empty, and yet somehow or other you always provide. ST Padre Pio said to Pray, Hope and Don't Worry. In my humanness, my stomach still churns. Lord be with me tomorrow. Thank you dearest Lord for all your help. Please dear spiritual and prayer warriors be so kind as to pray and storm heaven for me. Thank you. BCQ

It's Time to Pray

PRAYER for Our Nation

This was shared in an email from the Presidential Prayer Team:

Declaration of Independence Signer

Samuel Chase
George Washington (1732-1799), 1st President of the United States

"Almighty God: We make our earnest prayer that Thou wilt keep the United States in Thy Holy protection; and Thou wilt incline the hearts of the Citizens to cultivate a spirit of subordination and obedience to Government; and to entertain a brotherly affection and love for one another and for their fellow Citizens of the United States at large, and particularly for their brethren who have served in the Field. And finally that Thou wilt most graciously be pleased to dispose us all to do justice, to love mercy, and to demean ourselves with that Charity, humility, and pacific temper of mind which were the Characteristics of the Divine Author of our blessed Religion, and without a humble imitation of whose example in these things we can never hope to be a happy nation. Grant our supplication we beseech Thee, through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen." --

This prayer of George Washington appears in St. Paul's Chapel in New York City.
