PRAYING FOR YOURSELF

Running toward the heart of God, so you can walk in your destiny…

From "Drawing Near" Devotional - by Kathleen Dillard from PRAYER CENTRAL
Day-13
Pray for Myself

What Kind of Trial are You In?

“Be self-controlled and alert. Your enemy the devil prowls around like a roaring lion looking for someone to devour. Resist him, standing firm in the faith, because you know that your brothers throughout the world are undergoing the same kind of sufferings. And the God of all grace, who called you to His eternal glory in Christ, after you have suffered a little while, will Himself restore you and make you strong, firm and steadfast. To Him be the power for ever and ever. Amen.”
 -1 Peter 5:8-11

Today’s Word:
Precious child remember My word, ‘do not be surprised at the painful trial you are suffering, as though something strange were happening to you’. Are you in a painful trial? There are three things to remember during such times.

The first thing to remember in hardship is that, ‘God causes all things to work together for good to those who love Him.’ Be assured of this, and do not despair.

The second thing to remember is that some hardship is the doorway to share in Christ’s sufferings, and these sufferings will be worked for your benefit.

The third thing to remember is that you have an enemy.

Ask Me what the source of your hardship is. And when you are doing well, and making much progress in your Kingdom labors, then you should not be caught unaware when the enemy stands against you. At that very moment, ‘Submit yourselves, then, to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you’. Take up My word, and place resistance against the enemy’s efforts. ‘The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy; I have come that they may have life, and have it to the full’.

There are times in My Kingdom that require resistance, and I have given you authority for those times. Even as I have said, ‘I will give you the keys of the kingdom of heaven; whatever you bind on earth will be bound in heaven, and whatever you loose on earth will be loosed in heaven’. Do not be afraid, for I am with you; use your authority and remember that you belong to Me. You are a child, precious and loved, in your Father’s house.

Scripture:

1 Peter 4:12 “Dear friends, do not be surprised at the painful trial you are suffering, as though something strange were happening to you.”

James 4:7 “Submit yourselves, then, to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you.”

John 10:10 “The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy; I have come that they may have life, and have it to the full.”

Matthew 16:19 “I will give you the keys of the kingdom of heaven; whatever you bind on earth will be bound in heaven, and whatever you loose on earth will be loosed in heaven.”

Father God, please keep satan far from me, and all of those I love. I refuse to allow him to discourage me in anyway. No matter what, I will forever choose You Father. I love You with all I am. Amen

God, today, I want to make time to pray for all the people I see or hear from on a regular basis:
my co-workers (say names),
my family (say names),
my friends (say names),
my neighbors (say names),
my church leaders (say names)

my blog sisters & brothers in Christ ... *********************************
You know every need they have. I pray that You would give encouragement to the discouraged, good health to the unhealthy, money for the financially needy, peace to the restless, guidance to the lost or searching, and that You would meet any special needs that each of these people may have right now. God, I pray for their spiritual as well as physical needs. Work through me as you see fit to accomplish your plan and meet these needs. Please give me wisdom and guidance to know your will and help me to realize where there is a need to which I can minister. I thank You God, for hearing this prayer and for your answers. In Jesus' name I pray. Amen.

Open Doors for Myself

Scripture: I know your deeds. See, I have placed before you an open door that no one can shut. -Revelation 3:8

Prayer:
Father, You are the creator of all things. You called forth the planets with a word, and established the stars with the sound of Your voice. You have authority over all the resources of the universe, and You are my Father.

Lord, as I go out today, I ask for the open doors that no man can shut. I ask that Your angels would go before me to remove the obstacles that stand in the way.

Lord, my heart is to serve You today, I ask for opportunities to serve others, to reach out in love, to bless those around me. Give me eyes to see the needs, and open the door for me to move in Your name.

Enable me Lord, to transact business on behalf of Jesus today, and may His name be glorified through my life.

AMEN to so many of Denise's prayers!

Amen to keeping the enemy far away from us because it sure looks like he is hard at work with so many.

Guard us O Lord! Keep us safe and protected from so much evil and harm. Deliver us from evil. O how we need You, as Deliverer! You came to set us free! Free us from all the pain, heartache, mourning & grief, death of loved ones, serious illnesses and an onslaught of cancer so much heaviness!

I am having difficulty Father with concise words to pray to You. There are so many who need to be lifted to You but my own words fail me. I am overwhelmed by the many needs and the so few people praying and that dear Denise is carrying them all to You. I do stand with her and I pray in the spirit as I lay hands on each one in need. ohhhh Father!
You know each and every one. Help me to focus. Bring Your Word to me to speak and pray. I am so thankful that You care for each one and especially for my dear sister Denise. You have redeemed us by grace and our faith depends on You!
Touch Your people once again. Change the report and lift their burden. You know each circumstance, and heavy heart.

My own grief holds me from reaching the many that are grieving! Remove the pain and distress that reoccurs for me as I feel so raw still. Take away the final image of death and give me living, loving images of LIFE! You are the Resurrection and the Life, and I believe in You!
Help the heaviness on my shoulders so compassion and sympathies can flow to others that are hurting from recent losses. I resist depression. I resist any pity, guilt, or resentment. I'm really not even sure of what but release me from whatever it is that is weighing me down. Block my mind, my thoughts... lift the weight I feel on my shoulders when I hear the hard, difficult times that others are facing. May I have an optimistic attitude and an encouraging Word for each person.

Thank You for Your listening to me, Your faithfulness, Your unfailing love, mercy and grace, Your ever open arms that give me strength & Comfort. Thank You for Your healing touch. Thank You for healing me.
Praise Your Holy Name and all You are as I wait for You! Praise You for the victory You won for me, each victory brings me closer to home. I love You! I love You! I love my sister Denise and I ask You to move the mountain... Praise You for being here with me! Praise You
for Your Spirit... alive in me!

Father, I lift my neighbors up to You today. This apartment complex is getting worse everyday, the enemy is prowling here, taking souls daily through drugs. Please help those that are trapped in the clutches of sin, help them to be released Father. Keep those safe that are running away from the enemy, and towards You Father. I love You so very much. Amen

Blessing Over My Household

Scripture: Now be pleased to bless the house of your servant, that it may continue for ever in your sight; for you, O Sovereign LORD, have spoken, and with your blessing the house of your servant will be blessed for ever. -2 Samuel 7:29

Prayer: Who among the gods is like You, O LORD? Who is like You, majestic in holiness, awesome in glory, working wonders? You alone are worthy of all our praise.

Lord, You are the God who loves to bless, so I come before You now and ask for a mighty blessing on my household this week. Extend Your scepter Lord, and decree a blessing for me.

May my heart be overwhelmed by Your blessing and mercy. May I be surprised by Your goodness and humbled by Your generosity. Grant me Lord, another reason to testify that You do all things well, and more than we could ever hope or imagine.

Bless me Lord with a testimony that honors Your name. In Jesus name, amen.

PRAYER for Our Nation

This was shared in an email from the Presidential Prayer Team:

Declaration of Independence Signer

Samuel Chase
George Washington (1732-1799), 1st President of the United States

"Almighty God: We make our earnest prayer that Thou wilt keep the United States in Thy Holy protection; and Thou wilt incline the hearts of the Citizens to cultivate a spirit of subordination and obedience to Government; and to entertain a brotherly affection and love for one another and for their fellow Citizens of the United States at large, and particularly for their brethren who have served in the Field. And finally that Thou wilt most graciously be pleased to dispose us all to do justice, to love mercy, and to demean ourselves with that Charity, humility, and pacific temper of mind which were the Characteristics of the Divine Author of our blessed Religion, and without a humble imitation of whose example in these things we can never hope to be a happy nation. Grant our supplication we beseech Thee, through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen." --

This prayer of George Washington appears in St. Paul's Chapel in New York City.
