PRAYER CHALLENGE 24

CHALLENGE TAKEN from the pdf mentioned back here
Suggestion for today from there:

Day 24: Ask God for a generous spirit today.  Ask Him to help you to be liberal today; to not be stingy with your love, kindness, advice.  someone home to lunch or dinner with you this week so you can learn more about him/her as a person to start building a relationship that leads to sharing more about Christ.

DAILY PRAYER from Germaine Copeland author of "Prayers that Avail Much"

Prayers That Avail Much: 25th Anniversary Commemorative Gift Edition (Prayers That Avail Much) (Prayers That Avail Much)

Communion
When you take the bread and the cup of Jesus Christ you are signifying your union with Him. Do you know this Jesus or do you just know about Him? After He ascended to heaven He sent the Holy Spirit to bring you into an intimate relationship with the Father-God. Jesus is the way to the Father, and the Holy Spirit is your Teacher and Guide. For the believer prayer and Bible reading can be and should be times of exchanging information. You have the privilege of becoming intimately acquainted with the Father, Son and Holy Spirit--the Three in One. Acknowledge the Holy Spirit, take time to communicate with Him. He will take the Word of God and teach you all things that pertain unto life and godliness. The grace of the Lord Jesus Christ, and the love of God, and the communion of the Holy Ghost, be with you all. Amen (2 Cor 13:14).

PRAYER:
Lord Jesus, I am looking and listening, and I am in the spirit. You have knocked and I have opened the door. Come into my heart and let us eat of the living bread and drink from the fountain that never runs dry. Today, I rejoice in You and I am exceedingly glad. Glory and honor belong to You, my Redeemer, my Elder Brother, my Lord. It is no longer I that lives, but Christ who lives in me, and the life that I now live in the flesh I live by the faith of the Son of God. My beloved is mine and I am His. Amen.
Revelation 3 Galatians 2:20

Today’s Prayer

Father, Thank you for your gift of peace in our lives and in our hearts. I pray for your peace upon those in the middle east who are in such chaos. May your Spirit pour down upon these lands and touch the hearts of those who rise up in anger and violence. Protect our troops stationed there. Place your walls around them and guide them in safety. In Jesus’ Name. Amen. (From the Prayer Wall)

Pray The Blessing for Today:
Matt 25:31-40 “When the Son of Man comes in his glory, and all the angels with him, then he will sit on his glorious throne. Before him will be gathered all the nations, and he will separate people one from another as a shepherd separates the sheep from the goats. And he will place the sheep on his right, but the goats on the left.

Then the King will say to those on his right, ‘Come, you who are blessed by my Father, inherit the kingdom prepared for you from the foundation of the world. For I was hungry and you gave me food, I was thirsty and you gave me drink, I was a stranger and you welcomed me, I was naked and you clothed me, I was sick and you visited me, I was in prison and you came to me.’

Then the righteous will answer him, saying, ‘Lord, when did we see you hungry and feed you, or thirsty and give you drink? And when did we see you a stranger and welcome you, or naked and clothe you? And when did we see you sick or in prison and visit you?’ And the King will answer them, ‘Truly, I say to you, as you did it to one of the least of these my brothers, you did it to me.’

Declare your faith:
I believe and confess that Jesus Christ came set the captives free and that by his death on the cross He broke the hold of sin over our lives (Luke 4:18).

Reveal Jesus

Scripture: “And He, when He comes, will convict the world concerning sin, and righteousness, and judgment…” -John 16:8

Prayer: Father, we thank You that mercy triumphs over judgment. You are slow to anger, abounding in lovingkindness, and are ready to show compassion to all who call upon You.

Jesus, I bring the prodigals in my neighbohood before You, who are facing the tug of war between life and death. I ask that You would release your Holy Spirit to convict them about eternal realities. According to Your promise, I ask that there would be a sudden awareness of sin, righteousness and judgment.

I accept Your word saying You do not wish for any to perish but for all to come to repentance. Let it be so! Father, we ask that You would touch the prodigals in my neighborhood today with the revelation of Your Son. Bring back to their memory the stories they have heard about Jesus; release an awareness of Christ’s presence; and let dreams and supernatural signs come down that confirm You are the Lord, and the Prince of Peace.

Break the prodigals in my neighbohood free from the power of darkness, and release to them the revelation they need to trust in Jesus.

PRAYER for Our Nation

This was shared in an email from the Presidential Prayer Team:

Declaration of Independence Signer

Samuel Chase
George Washington (1732-1799), 1st President of the United States

"Almighty God: We make our earnest prayer that Thou wilt keep the United States in Thy Holy protection; and Thou wilt incline the hearts of the Citizens to cultivate a spirit of subordination and obedience to Government; and to entertain a brotherly affection and love for one another and for their fellow Citizens of the United States at large, and particularly for their brethren who have served in the Field. And finally that Thou wilt most graciously be pleased to dispose us all to do justice, to love mercy, and to demean ourselves with that Charity, humility, and pacific temper of mind which were the Characteristics of the Divine Author of our blessed Religion, and without a humble imitation of whose example in these things we can never hope to be a happy nation. Grant our supplication we beseech Thee, through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen." --

This prayer of George Washington appears in St. Paul's Chapel in New York City.
