PRAYER CHALLENGE DAY 34

For some reason, I got off on the days... so I had to put this one in here to end on next Sat. with Day 40 (Sorry)

CHALLENGE TAKEN from the pdf mentioned back here
Suggestion for today from there:

Day 34:  Today’s prayer challenge.  Read  Matthew 5:8-12.  Then glean the essence of those verses and pray to God about your life in application to those verses.  This should truly be a powerful and revealing prayer time for you.

Matthew 5:8-12
8     “Blessed are the pure in heart, for they shall see God.
9     “Blessed are the peacemakers, for they shall be called sons of God.

10     “Blessed are those who have been persecuted for the sake of righteousness, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.
11     “Blessed are you when people insult you and persecute you, and falsely say all kinds of evil against you because of Me.

12     “Rejoice and be glad, for your reward in heaven is great; for in the same way they persecuted the prophets who were before you.

DAILY PRAYER from Germaine Copeland author of "Prayers that Avail Much"

Prayers That Avail Much: 25th Anniversary Commemorative Gift Edition (Prayers That Avail Much) (Prayers That Avail Much)

Spiritually Minded
It is possible to renew the mind to the Word of God. You can replace carnal thoughts of worry, fear, self-pity, and other self-defeating thoughts with peace. You can keep your mind filled with self-doubt, self-rejection and become self-absorbed -- or you can become spiritually minded and change your self-image replacing negative thoughts with God's thoughts toward you. Choose to be God-inside-minded.

PRAYER
Heavenly Father, I bind my mind to the mind of Christ, my will to the will of God and my emotions to the control of the Holy Spirit. I choose to walk according to the Spirit of Life in Christ Jesus, setting my mind on the things of the Spirit. To be spiritually minded is life and peace. I count myself dead to sin but alive to God in Christ Jesus. Amen.

Scripture Reading: Romans 8:1-8Romans 6:11
The daily prayer is written by Germaine Copeland, author of the Prayers That Avail Much family book series.

Dear Heavenly Father, AMEN to the words of Germaine to be spiritually minded and bin myself to Christ in my mind, my will and my emotions.

By seeking Your Truth and abiding in the principles of Matthew 5, I will walk because I choose to walk according to the Spirit. I cannot walk any better than to follow these beatitudes and make them an attitude change in me. Transform me as I grasp a better understanding of the power in living intentionally these precepts.

I desire to be pure in heart. I want to be a peacemaker. Give me the strength to face persecution and insults for Your sake.

Yes, Lord, for then I will rejoice and be glad for my reward in heaven.

Praise You for making a way and leading me as Your Spirit guides me and I listen and obey Your voice.

Thank You for this beautiful teaching on our inheritance as sons and daughters of God and the kingdom of heaven. May we bring others to this truth so that they too will receive Your eternal gift off salvation forever and ever, to You be all glory...

PRAYER for Our Nation

This was shared in an email from the Presidential Prayer Team:

Declaration of Independence Signer

Samuel Chase
George Washington (1732-1799), 1st President of the United States

"Almighty God: We make our earnest prayer that Thou wilt keep the United States in Thy Holy protection; and Thou wilt incline the hearts of the Citizens to cultivate a spirit of subordination and obedience to Government; and to entertain a brotherly affection and love for one another and for their fellow Citizens of the United States at large, and particularly for their brethren who have served in the Field. And finally that Thou wilt most graciously be pleased to dispose us all to do justice, to love mercy, and to demean ourselves with that Charity, humility, and pacific temper of mind which were the Characteristics of the Divine Author of our blessed Religion, and without a humble imitation of whose example in these things we can never hope to be a happy nation. Grant our supplication we beseech Thee, through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen." --

This prayer of George Washington appears in St. Paul's Chapel in New York City.
