Live In Peace

Today, I bless those who persecute me. I bless and do not curse. I rejoice with those who rejoice, and weep with those who weep...I associate with the humbleIf it is possible, as much as depends on me, I purpose to live peaceable with all men. I will make every effort to live in peace with all men and to be holy; without holiness no one will see the Lord. I purpose to overcome evil with good in the name of Jesus. Amen.

Heavenly Father, Send Your Holy Comforter to the George family!
Heather needs You so much! Their loss of Emma Grace is overwhelming and ever so heart breaking after all she and they have gone through... but we trust You and Your will and way even when it hurts so bad and we grieve so much with them. Lord, only You can fill the immense ache and gap that the absence of Emma has left..on them...the void is vast. Lord, embrace each one of them as they grieve and hold them and their tears. Remind us frequently that this is not our destination, that Emma Grace no longer suffers but dances and sings praises to her King. Yet we are human Lord, and as a mother, how we ache when we have to let go and trust You. Ease their great pain and fill the emptiness.

Be with them. Bring them Godly strength and wisdom. Fill their days with love and gentle signs from You to see them through these days ahead. Help them to mourn and then put on the garments of praise.
We hold them up in prayer asking that You lessen their ache with the love and support of many. Give them good memories of their little angel Emma Grace... and send Your grace and mercy with everlasting love. Let beauty arise from the torment of death! Let JOY come back with Your gladness and a crown of beauty. Welcome our dear little Emma Grace into Your loving arms and are for her gently until they can all be together once again.
Breath life over this family!
Holy Spirit You are welcome in their place...

Escape from Temptation 4/27

I thank You Father, that no temptation has overtaken me except such as is common to man. You are faithful, and will not allow me to be tempted beyond that I am able, but with the temptation You will also make the way of escape, that I may be able to bear (endure) it. I flee from idolatry and sexual immorality, and will not sin against my own body. My body is the temple of the Holy Spirit who is in me, whom I have received from God, and I am not my own. I was bought at a price; therefore I will glorify God in my body and in my spirit, which are God's. Amen
Scripture Reading: 1 Corinthians 3:16 1 Corinthians 10:13-14

Freedom from Hang-ups 5/1

Sometimes we find it difficult to keep the words of Jesus: Love the Lord your God with all your heart, soul, and mind. This is the first and greatest commandment. The second most important is similar: Love your neighbor as much as you love yourself. (Mat. 22:37-30 LB) It is our hang-ups that hinder us and keep us from loving one another. Believers have the God-given ability to deal with unhealed hurts, unacknowledged anger and unresolved issues. Why? Because Jesus was beaten that we might have peace; he was lashed--and we were healed! Allow Jesus to bind up and heal your brokenness, and learn how to let go of hang-ups that cause you to do what you dont want to, and hinders you from doing what you want to do.

PRAYER:
Jesus, Son of God, thank You for setting me free to make wise choices. Thank You for giving me wisdom beyond my natural understanding. I purpose to stand firm, and I do not intend to let myself be burdened again by a yoke of slavery to old hang-ups and insecurities. Where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is libertyemancipation from bondage there is freedom. As a servant of the LORD, I refuse to quarrel; instead, I will be kind to everyone, able to teach, and I am not resentful. In the name of Jesus I pray. Amen.

Romans 10:15

Almighty God of the nations, I know it pains your heart to see so many people in our world today that do not even know the name of your Son, much less trust in him as their Lord. Through your Holy Spirit, stir in us the desire to have beautiful feet just like our brothers and sisters had in those early chapters of the book of Acts. May the Gospel spread in our day as it did in theirs! In Jesus' name I pray. Amen.

PRAYER for Our Nation

This was shared in an email from the Presidential Prayer Team:

Declaration of Independence Signer

Samuel Chase
George Washington (1732-1799), 1st President of the United States

"Almighty God: We make our earnest prayer that Thou wilt keep the United States in Thy Holy protection; and Thou wilt incline the hearts of the Citizens to cultivate a spirit of subordination and obedience to Government; and to entertain a brotherly affection and love for one another and for their fellow Citizens of the United States at large, and particularly for their brethren who have served in the Field. And finally that Thou wilt most graciously be pleased to dispose us all to do justice, to love mercy, and to demean ourselves with that Charity, humility, and pacific temper of mind which were the Characteristics of the Divine Author of our blessed Religion, and without a humble imitation of whose example in these things we can never hope to be a happy nation. Grant our supplication we beseech Thee, through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen." --

This prayer of George Washington appears in St. Paul's Chapel in New York City.
