PRAYER CHALLENGE 27

CHALLENGE TAKEN from the pdf mentioned back here
Suggestion for today from there:

Day 27:  Pray for our children as they face the world, to not be deceived by worldly philosophies and deceit, but to remember God’s word.  Pray for those people who you know are taken captive.  You have tried to share and speak about Christ in their life, but they ignore you.  Pray that you be patient with them.  Pray that another person might come along and plant a little bit more of the seed in them.

DAILY PRAYER from Germaine Copeland author of "Prayers that Avail Much"

Prayers That Avail Much: 25th Anniversary Commemorative Gift Edition (Prayers That Avail Much) (Prayers That Avail Much)

God's Guidance
Do you feel trapped, at a crossroads wondering what to do? Before Jesus left this earth He said that He and the Father would send the Holy Spirit to lead and guide you. If you don't know that you have the Holy Spirit Jesus said that your heavenly Father will give the Holy Spirit to them that ask him. Ask and receive the Holy Spirit as your Counselor, Helper, Advocate, Intercessor, Strengthener, and Standby. When the Holy Spirit, who is truth, comes, he shall guide you into all truth, for he will not be presenting his own ideas, but will be passing on to you what he has heard. He will tell you about the future (Jn 16:13 TLB). The Holy Spirit can help you when you don't know what to do. Pray and read the Bible, trusting the Holy Spirit to reveal truth to your mind, and show you what to do. The Holy Spirit will convince you of God's will. The Holy Spirit knows the way you are to go, He knows the future, He's been this way before.

PRAYER
Father, I thank You for instructing me and teaching me in the way I should go. Thank You for Your guidance and leadership concerning Your will, Your plan and Your purpose for my life. I hear the voice of the Good Shepherd, for I know You and follow You. In the name of Jesus I bind my feet to the paths of righteousness in which You are leading me for Your name's sake. Amen
Scripture Reading: Psalm 32:8John 10:3-4Psalm 23:3
The daily prayer is written by Germaine Copeland, author of the Prayers That Avail Much family book series.

Dearest Heavenly Father,

I bring my sons to You right now. You know the many things that are on my mind, and in my heart for them. The struggles they are facing. It's very hard to stand on Your side when you're in your 20's. It isn't popular to be a believer. I thank you for Your faithfulness in bringing them to saving faith in You. I am so grateful that they desire to attend church. It makes me joyous, Lord, that they do not desire to follow the world's ways.

But it's hard for them, Lord. They face a certain social persecution that I don't. Do not let them be tempted beyond what they can endure. Solidify in them Your Spirit's teaching. Grant them strength and peace.

And help me let them go - into Your hands, into Your will. Thank you for the work You are doing in their hearts. May they grow in their desire for You. Help me to help them.

Lord, bring people into my life that I can tell about You. Make those whose paths I cross be receptive to Your Good News. And give me a boldness, an urgency, to speak.

Please be with my dear amiga, Peggy - Lord, give her Your presence and Your peace - strengthen her as she is resting in prayer with You. Give her what she needs to speak to those You lead into her life.

I ask these things in the incomparable name of our Savior, the Lord Jesus Christ.

Amen.

Awesome ~ Heavenly Father,

Isn't it just beautiful and so very precious when a sister in Christ, a precious woman of God, a daughter of Yours, comes here and leaves such a heartfelt prayer for her adult sons with so much love and concern. Just like the love You have for Sharon and me, and them, our children, Your own as well. How we love to come to You for those we love and give thanks for them.

Thank You Lord for Sharon's heart for her sons. I stand with my dear sister, in her mother's heart cry for them in the difficulty it is to face this world and remain true to You! Thank You for their faith in You! Thank You that as difficult as their walk is to be in church, to deal with social pressures, temptations and all the world throws at them, that they are there in church and You are faithful and with them wherever they are. Strengthen them in the battle and the daily struggles to swim against the flow. Give them Your wisdom, discernment, power and strength to press on. Teach them Your way and Your thoughts! Pour Your peace and love on them each day!

Help my dear sister to let go and trust Your will and Your way for them that they will respond to Your Holy Spirit in the way they should go and they will not depart from You! Hear the spoken and the unspoken desires of this beautiful mother for her sons and their Christian walk. Enrich Sharon and her sons in their relationship with one another and with You! May they be blessed and call their mother blessed. May they rise up to seek You each day and draw near to You!
Cover them with Your supernatural protection, provision and guidance
of their steps.

Be all this and more to Sharon as You go before her and make the crooked path and struggles straight in You! You are more than enough! You are her shelter and her refuge! You give Sharon strength, power, wisdom and peace to handle each struggle and each blessing. You go before her and are with her in all she does and says. Lead people to her with receptive hearts so that she can be confident and bold in sharing the Good News and Jesus!
Answer her troubled concerns and also lighten her load. Carry her to a place of rest physically, financially, emotionally, spiritually... because greater are You that are in Sharon than he that is of this world... Rise up within Sharon and pour into her as she pours out to others.

Thank You Father and Praise be Yours for the seeds that are planted in our children, our families, our own hearts. Break through with Your victory in any area that needs to be taken back.
Help us as our patience and JOY increases and we learn to wait.
Continue to bring us tidbits of encouragement like this and prayers from others that You are speaking to and through...and we give You all the glory, honor, thanks and praise... as we ask all this in the beloved name of Jesus!

Thank You for Sharon!
Thank You for her prayer!
Thank You for her sons and her husband! Bless each one!
Thank You that though I miss Sharon that You are with her for me and can talk to her for me... and give her a big hug and a sweet song or whisper of how much she is loved!!!

Pray the Blessing:
Ps 33:10-19 The LORD brings the counsel of the nations to nothing; he frustrates the plans of the peoples. The counsel of the LORD stands forever, the plans of his heart to all generations. Blessed is the nation whose God is the LORD, the people whom he has chosen as his heritage!

The LORD looks down from heaven; he sees all the children of man; from where he sits enthroned he looks out on all the inhabitants of the earth, he who fashions the hearts of them all and observes all their deeds. The king is not saved by his great army; a warrior is not delivered by his great strength.

The war horse is a false hope for salvation, and by its great might it cannot rescue. Behold, the eye of the LORD is on those who fear him, on those who hope in his steadfast love, that he may deliver their soul from death and keep them alive in famine.

Declare your faith:
I believe and confess that Jesus Christ does not want anyone to perish but all people to come to the saving knowledge of Him as the Son of God (2 Pet 3:9; John 3:16)

Pray on foot:
Share the gospel today with at least one unbeliever and pray for those nations and people groups who have not yet heard the gospel of Jesus Christ.

Today’s Prayer

Praying for: the Pastors in my community

Wisdom from Above

Scripture: But the wisdom that comes from heaven is first of all pure; then peace-loving, considerate, submissive, full of mercy and good fruit, impartial and sincere. -James 3:17

Prayer: Lord there is no one like You. Among all the wise men of the nations and in all their kingdoms, there is no one like You. All knowledge and wisdom is in the palm of Your hand.

Lord I bring the Pastors in my community before You, who need Your wisdom today. That peace-loving, considerate, impartial, and sincere wisdom that only comes from You. Fill their mouths Lord with that divine wisdom that dispels darkness, unlocks iron gates and soothes the troubled soul.

Release Your wisdom through the Pastors in my community today Lord, and establish Your purposes in the lives of those they serve. And may Jesus be glorified through it all, amen

PRAYER for Our Nation

This was shared in an email from the Presidential Prayer Team:

Declaration of Independence Signer

Samuel Chase
George Washington (1732-1799), 1st President of the United States

"Almighty God: We make our earnest prayer that Thou wilt keep the United States in Thy Holy protection; and Thou wilt incline the hearts of the Citizens to cultivate a spirit of subordination and obedience to Government; and to entertain a brotherly affection and love for one another and for their fellow Citizens of the United States at large, and particularly for their brethren who have served in the Field. And finally that Thou wilt most graciously be pleased to dispose us all to do justice, to love mercy, and to demean ourselves with that Charity, humility, and pacific temper of mind which were the Characteristics of the Divine Author of our blessed Religion, and without a humble imitation of whose example in these things we can never hope to be a happy nation. Grant our supplication we beseech Thee, through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen." --

This prayer of George Washington appears in St. Paul's Chapel in New York City.
