PRAYER CHALLENGE 28

CHALLENGE TAKEN from the pdf mentioned back here
Suggestion for today from there:

Day 28:  Pray for single-parent families.  Pray that you realize you are part of the answer in helping provide positive role models to the fatherless and motherless.  Pray that you do your best to make them feel welcomed and not like a second-class citizen.  Pray that you see the opportunities to help single parents and do something about it.

DAILY PRAYER from Germaine Copeland ... author of "Prayers that Avail Much"

Prayers That Avail Much: 25th Anniversary Commemorative Gift Edition (Prayers That Avail Much) (Prayers That Avail Much)

Abundant Life
Do you know the character of God? Do you know that He is a good God, and that good and perfect things come from Him? I have heard people blame Him for everything good, bad and indifferent. He sent Jesus to give you Life--Life more Abundant till it overflows. God isn't in the business of killing, stealing and destroying, He is in the business of blessing His children with all spiritual blessings in Christ Jesus!

Prayer:
Father God, thank You for sending Your son Jesus Christ that I might have life and have it to the full till it overflows. I receive Your abundant life this day, accepting it in overflowing proportions. Freely I have received; freely I give, in the name of Jesus. Amen.

Scripture Reading: John 10:10
The daily prayer is written by Germaine Copeland, author of the Prayers That Avail Much family book series.

Yes! Prayers and actions for the many single parents who are raising children themselves while struggling to work and pay bills, maintain a reasonably organized and clean home, arrange childcare for their precious children so they can work to pay their bills, and somehow not give in to the hurt, the disdain ,and indifference other Christians might show them.

Dear Heavenly Father,Single parents are so often exhausted emotionally, physically, and often the lack of just plain rest causes so much anxiety. Please give those I know and others ,the physical energy to keep up with even the simple things most of us take for granted, busy children, paying bills, working to pay the bills. Protect the precious children they rely on others to care for while they work. Save them, please.Thank-you dear Jesus.

Oh yes Heavenly Father, Thank You for KathyB's beautiful prayer to You on behalf of the single parents and all their daily endeavors, I stand with Kathy and lift them to You! O Father, how they need Your supernatural invention daily to help them meet their family needs and many demands. Be with them. Give them encouragement! Assist them in their daily struggles. Reach them with an outpouring of Your love and a deep understanding of all they need, they hardly have a chance to seek or ask, but You know their need.

Kathy prayed from a heart that knows and so I ask that You would heed her prayer and bless her for standing up and praying for them. We love You Father, be a father (or mother) to these homes and love on each one from parent to child as well as their grandparents. Make the rough edges and roads smooth before them. Stir them clear of further complications and provide as only You are able. We give You thanks for each one and ask that You give them hope in Jesus' Name... we pray... Bless Kathy for her heart and prayer. May our prayers be powerful and effective through Your Spirit to every single parent. Thank You for what You will do...

PRAYER for Our Nation

This was shared in an email from the Presidential Prayer Team:

Declaration of Independence Signer

Samuel Chase
George Washington (1732-1799), 1st President of the United States

"Almighty God: We make our earnest prayer that Thou wilt keep the United States in Thy Holy protection; and Thou wilt incline the hearts of the Citizens to cultivate a spirit of subordination and obedience to Government; and to entertain a brotherly affection and love for one another and for their fellow Citizens of the United States at large, and particularly for their brethren who have served in the Field. And finally that Thou wilt most graciously be pleased to dispose us all to do justice, to love mercy, and to demean ourselves with that Charity, humility, and pacific temper of mind which were the Characteristics of the Divine Author of our blessed Religion, and without a humble imitation of whose example in these things we can never hope to be a happy nation. Grant our supplication we beseech Thee, through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen." --

This prayer of George Washington appears in St. Paul's Chapel in New York City.
