PRAYER CHALLENGE DAY 32

CHALLENGE TAKEN from the pdf mentioned back here
Suggestion for today from there:

Day 32:  Pray and lay your goals for this 2011 before God and ask Him to bless and establish them.  We often think that we accomplish our goals of our own volition.  For those who desire to be part of God’s will, … “ we establish the plan and He directs our steps.”  Make sure to invite God into your goals and plans for this year.

Friendship
Friendship should never be taken for granted. Jesus calls you His friend, and He is a Friend that sticks closer than a brother. Throughout your life He sends different people to you. Some are friends for a season. God sends them to meet a special need, or for you to meet a special need for them, and then you move off in different directions. Others remain friends throughout life. God sends friends who share your disappointments, your hopes, your highs your lows. They see your faults and love you anyway. You learn to resolve conflict, trust one another. You become iron sharpening iron; helping each other grow in character, and in the love of God. God uses friendship to shape and mold us: If we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship with one another, and the blood of Jesus his Son cleanses us from all sin (1 John 1:7).

PRAYER:
Father, I thank You for my friends. We are kind to one another, speaking words of grace into each other's lives. We are there to laugh and cry together; we trust each other, encouraging one another in the Lord. We confess our faults to one another and pray for one another that we may be healed and restored to a spiritual tone of mind and heart. Thank You Jesus for teaching me how to be a good friend. Amen.

Scripture Reading: Proverbs 17:17Proverbs 18:24;John 17:13-14James 5:16
The daily prayer is written by Germaine Copeland, author of the Prayers That Avail Much family book series.

Lord, I know that I wrote a prayer on FRIENDSHIP yesterday and thanking You for being the BEST FRIEND EVER! But somehow it did not show up here and so I guess it was meant between us.

Yes, Lord, our intimacy is so precious when it's You and I. When the things of this world are dim and You stand straight and center as the only focus. I did not share those intimacies, I don't think but I do know that we delighted ourselves as we talked. May each day be like that more and more, moments of sheer JOY and may I please and delight YOU!

Thank You for the other friends that You have placed in my life for a season or a lifetime, each one is so special and I am blessed that You chose them for me as friends.
Help me not to be offended by those that have departed or moved on to other places. Fill that gap as only You can. I depend on You and look to You to supply all my needs, even friends. You are faithful! You are the best example of what it takes to be a true and lasting friend. I thank You for the ones that remain.
I am so blessed by each one and ask You to give them favor and many blessings on them and their loved ones. May the all come closer to their friendship with You and knowing You as Lord! Stay with us Lord Jesus... stay and make our house Your home.

Praise You Lord for the JOYS friends bring! Erase the hurts and fill the emptiness left by some. Touch us deeply to care for each other as You care for us. Let a spirit of love and acceptance bloom and all else cast away. May we be released to find friends that You desire and spare us from undue harm or evil in Jesus name...

PRAYER for Our Nation

This was shared in an email from the Presidential Prayer Team:

Declaration of Independence Signer

Samuel Chase
George Washington (1732-1799), 1st President of the United States

"Almighty God: We make our earnest prayer that Thou wilt keep the United States in Thy Holy protection; and Thou wilt incline the hearts of the Citizens to cultivate a spirit of subordination and obedience to Government; and to entertain a brotherly affection and love for one another and for their fellow Citizens of the United States at large, and particularly for their brethren who have served in the Field. And finally that Thou wilt most graciously be pleased to dispose us all to do justice, to love mercy, and to demean ourselves with that Charity, humility, and pacific temper of mind which were the Characteristics of the Divine Author of our blessed Religion, and without a humble imitation of whose example in these things we can never hope to be a happy nation. Grant our supplication we beseech Thee, through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen." --

This prayer of George Washington appears in St. Paul's Chapel in New York City.
