PRAYER CHALLENGE DAY 33

CHALLENGE TAKEN from the pdf mentioned back here
Suggestion for today from there:

Day 33:  The next seven days of prayer challenges are a step up.  We will be reading God's Word and then PRAYING GOD'S WORD.

Read  Matthew 5:1-7.  Then glean the essence of those verses and pray to God about your life in application to those verses.  This should truly be a powerful and revealing prayer time for the next seven days. This will really dig deep into your spirit as you put your life up to God’s mirror and take a look.

Matthew 5:1-7
1     When Jesus saw the crowds, He went up on the mountain; and after He sat down, His disciples came to Him.
2     He opened His mouth and began to teach them, saying,
3     “Blessed are the poor in spirit, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.
4     “Blessed are those who mourn, for they shall be comforted.
5     “Blessed are the gentle, for they shall inherit the earth.
6     “Blessed are those who hunger and thirst for righteousness, for they shall be satisfied.
7     “Blessed are the merciful, for they shall receive mercy.

Dear Heavenly Father,

I receive these blessings from Matthew 5 and the teaching they bring to me.

May I learn to be humble, poor in spirit, mourn, be gentle, hunger and thirst for righteousness and be merciful as You are... for I do desire to receive mercy, be satisfied, inherit the earth, be comforted and seek the kingdom of heaven! I know that putting these principles into action, requires me to make healthy choices and decisions. To realize that You are in control, and I am not nor should I be. I cast any part of me that wants to control aside and accept that I am powerless. The power that I have comes from Your Holy Spirit so I must submit as I surrender completely to His control.

Thank You for teaching us these truths. May I walk more freely as I put them into practice. May I have the bounce of the Holy Spirit in my steps and hear His whisper along the way. Continue to help me dig deep this last week and pray Your Word. Fill me with Your Divine revelations and Your power, lighten my load and carry me when I am weary this week or just can't press on... encourage each person to pray and seek You this week. Hear the spoken and unspoken requests here at the Lighthouse. Shine Your Light on each one and guide them in Your Way...in Jesus precious Name.

It's Time to Pray

PRAYER for Our Nation

This was shared in an email from the Presidential Prayer Team:

Declaration of Independence Signer

Samuel Chase
George Washington (1732-1799), 1st President of the United States

"Almighty God: We make our earnest prayer that Thou wilt keep the United States in Thy Holy protection; and Thou wilt incline the hearts of the Citizens to cultivate a spirit of subordination and obedience to Government; and to entertain a brotherly affection and love for one another and for their fellow Citizens of the United States at large, and particularly for their brethren who have served in the Field. And finally that Thou wilt most graciously be pleased to dispose us all to do justice, to love mercy, and to demean ourselves with that Charity, humility, and pacific temper of mind which were the Characteristics of the Divine Author of our blessed Religion, and without a humble imitation of whose example in these things we can never hope to be a happy nation. Grant our supplication we beseech Thee, through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen." --

This prayer of George Washington appears in St. Paul's Chapel in New York City.
