PRAYER CHALLENGE DAY 37

CHALLENGE TAKEN from the pdf mentioned back here
Suggestion for today from there:

Day 37:  Today’s prayer challenge.  Read  Matthew 7:7-12.  Then glean the essence of those verses and pray to God about your life in application to those verses.  This should truly be a powerful and revealing prayer time for you put your life up to God’s mirror and take a look. Also think about the fact that an answer to a prayer may also be “no", or "wait”

Matthew 7:7-12
7     “Ask, and it will be given to you; seek, and you will find; knock, and it will be opened to you.
8     “For everyone who asks receives, and he who seeks finds, and to him who knocks it will be opened.
9     “Or what man is there among you who, when his son asks for a loaf, will give him a stone?
10     “Or if he asks for a fish, he will not give him a snake, will he?
11     “If you then, being evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your Father who is in heaven give what is good to those who ask Him!
12     “In everything, therefore, treat people the same way you want them to treat you, for this is the Law and the Prophets.

More Than a Conqueror

Who shall separate me from the love of Christ? Shall tribulation, distress, persecution, famine, nakedness, peril, or sword? For Your sake I am killed all day long; I am accounted as sheep for the slaughter. Yet in all these things I am more than a conqueror through Him who loved me. Hallelujah! Amen Scripture Reading: Romans 8:35-37

Day 35 | April 20, 2011

Romans 11:33-36: Oh, the depth of the riches of the wisdom and knowledge of God! How unsearchable his judgments, and his paths beyond tracing out! Who has known the mind of the Lord? Or who has been his counselor? Who has ever given to God, that God repay them? For from him and through him and for him are all things. To him be the glory forever! Amen.

Write your own doxology to God.

Pray the Blessing:
Eph 3:14-21 For this reason I bow my knees before the Father, from whom every family in heaven and on earth is named, that according to the riches of his glory he may grant you to be strengthened with power through his Spirit in your inner being, so that Christ may dwell in your hearts through faith–that you, being rooted and grounded in love, may have strength to comprehend with all the saints what is the breadth and length and height and depth, and to know the love of Christ that surpasses knowledge, that you may be filled with all the fullness of God.

Now to him who is able to do far more abundantly than all that we ask or think, according to the power at work within us, to him be glory in the church and in Christ Jesus throughout all generations, forever and ever. Amen.

Declare your faith:
I confess and believe that the name of Jesus Christ is the name above all names and that at the name of Jesus every knee will bow and every tongue will confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father (Phil 2:9-11)

Praying for: the soldiers serving my country

Encourage Their Family

Scripture: Now be pleased to bless the house of your servant, that it may continue for ever in your sight; for you, O Sovereign LORD, have spoken, and with your blessing the house of your servant will be blessed for ever. -2 Samuel 7:29

Prayer: You are awesome, O God, in Your sanctuary, and You give power and strength to Your people.

Lord, I present the soldiers serving my country’s family to You and ask for Your favor to fall upon them today. Visit them with Your sweet presence Jesus, and bring comfort to their hearts. Encourage them in some way Lord that will relieve the pain of separation they are feeling.

Chase away fear and anxiety from their door and give them the courage to trust the soldiers serving my country into Your hands. Bless them with an extra measure of grace today, and surprise them with some encouraging news, that will lift their hearts.

Honor the sacrifices they are making Lord, be their comfort, and shine the light of Your presence into their loneliness. As they lay down their heads tonight, let them whisper, “This was a good day.” In Jesus name, amen.

PRAYER for Our Nation

This was shared in an email from the Presidential Prayer Team:

Declaration of Independence Signer

Samuel Chase
George Washington (1732-1799), 1st President of the United States

"Almighty God: We make our earnest prayer that Thou wilt keep the United States in Thy Holy protection; and Thou wilt incline the hearts of the Citizens to cultivate a spirit of subordination and obedience to Government; and to entertain a brotherly affection and love for one another and for their fellow Citizens of the United States at large, and particularly for their brethren who have served in the Field. And finally that Thou wilt most graciously be pleased to dispose us all to do justice, to love mercy, and to demean ourselves with that Charity, humility, and pacific temper of mind which were the Characteristics of the Divine Author of our blessed Religion, and without a humble imitation of whose example in these things we can never hope to be a happy nation. Grant our supplication we beseech Thee, through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen." --

This prayer of George Washington appears in St. Paul's Chapel in New York City.
