DAILY PRAYER ~ FAVOR

from Germaine Copeland, author of "Prayers that Avail Much"

Prayers That Avail Much: 25th Anniversary Commemorative Gift Edition (Prayers That Avail Much) (Prayers That Avail Much)

Favor
When is the last time that you stood in front of your mirror and took a good look at yourself? If you are frowning replace it with a smile, stand tall and hold your head high. Pray, write mercy and truth on the tablets of your heart, and you will find favor. You will be amazed when you go for a walk, go to your office or the shopping mall, how others will respond. Your very appearance will extend favor to others. That which you freely give, you shall receive.

Father, in the name of Jesus, I pray that I will have favor with you and man, and a reputation for good judgment and common sense. In everything I do, I put you first, and you will direct me and crown my efforts with success. I trust and reverence you LORD, and turn my back on evil. When I do this, you give renewed health and vitality to me. I honor you Lord by giving you the first part of all my income, in the name of Jesus. Amen.

Scripture Reading: Proverbs 3:4-10
The daily prayer is written by Germaine Copeland, author of the Prayers That Avail Much family book series.

Father,

I lift up each person and my dear sister Alice, who has joined me to carry the prayers to Your Throne, and fill the gap while the rest of the team is away and unable, for Your unmerited favor! Send each person Your favor and more importantly that we will trust in You with all our hearts and lean not on our own understanding. We trust You! We depend on You! We rely on You for every need spoken and unspoken. May we win favor and a good name in the sight of God and in the hearts of those we lift to You. We acknowledge You and may it be in all our ways every day! Make straight our paths - straight to You! May we not try to be wise on our own or in our own eyes, keep us from pride and idolatry. May we learn to fear You Lord with awe and respect for who You are and love You and honor You by seeking You and Your wisdom and way first in Jesus Name...

Prayer for the day before Ash Weds.
(known as "Fat Tuesday" farewell to meat) I guess for me that means farewell to carnal living... "lead us not into temptation but deliver us from evil..."

Blessed are You, Lord God of all creation, for it is from Your goodness that we have this day to celebrate on the threshold of the Season of Lent.
Tomorrow we will fast and abstain from meat. Today we feast.

We thank You for the abundance of gifts you shower upon us.
We thank You especially for one another.

As we give You thanks, we are mindful of those who have so much less than we do.
As we share these wonderful gifts together, we commit ourselves to greater generosity toward those
who need our support.

Prepare us for tomorrow.
Tasting the fullness of what we have today, let us experience some hunger tomorrow.
May our fasting make us more alert
and may it heighten our consciousness
so that we might be ready to hear Your Word and respond to Your call.

As our feasting fills us with gratitude so may our fasting and abstinence hollow out in us
a place for deeper desires
and an attentiveness to hear the cry of the poor.
May our self-denial turn our hearts to You and give us a new freedom for generous service to others.

We ask You these graces
with our hearts full of delight
and stirring with readiness for the journey ahead.
We ask them with confidence
in the name of Jesus the Lord.

From Prayer Central:

Praying for: Myself

Peace for Myself

Scripture: I will lie down and sleep in peace, for you alone, O LORD, make me dwell in safety. -Psalms 4:8

Prayer: Lord, You are my hiding place, and there is no one who can deliver from Your hand, or breach Your wall of protection. You are my rock and my fortress and I will not fear.

Lord, I come before You and ask for Your peace and protection. Whatever difficulties I face today, Lord, may I face them from under Your wings, and in the shadow of Your Almighty presence.

Lord, according to Your word, cause me to dwell in safety today, and overshadow me with Your peace. Bar the door to fear, and surround me with Your favor as a shield. May I glorify Your name today as I walk in the peace of Your presence. In Jesus name, amen.

Father,

Thank You for Your favor! Thank You for Alice! Thank You for Prayer Central! I prayed that pray above since this morning our quiet time in the early hours was disrupted by gun fire. Thank You for the beautiful prayer Alice sent me when I mentioned this, she was quick to lift it to you:

"Heavenly Father, I come to you this morning to ask for protection of my dear sister, Peggy. She is doing your work and I ask that you put a border patrol of Angels around her and her home in the name of Jesus. Thank you, Father, in advance for taking care of her."

Encourage Alice Lord as she steps out into praying for people. She is such a delight and I know that You delight in her. Surround her and her husband with Your grace and strength. Continue to bring healing and help them in any way to do whatever You require.Bless Alice as she pours out to others, pour back and multiply Your portion and favor to her. We ask that You would bring wellness to both of them, no more episodes nor numbness or further surgeries. We speak to those "mountains" in Jesus name and command them by His authority to move any hindrance to their wellness.

We give You glory and thanks! We praise You for each day of good health. Help us to remember what we must do and keep our minds set on You! We give You glory and praise!
We love You! We praise You! You are our Shield and Burden bearer! Great are You and great things You have done and continue to do...

PRAYER for Our Nation

This was shared in an email from the Presidential Prayer Team:

Declaration of Independence Signer

Samuel Chase
George Washington (1732-1799), 1st President of the United States

"Almighty God: We make our earnest prayer that Thou wilt keep the United States in Thy Holy protection; and Thou wilt incline the hearts of the Citizens to cultivate a spirit of subordination and obedience to Government; and to entertain a brotherly affection and love for one another and for their fellow Citizens of the United States at large, and particularly for their brethren who have served in the Field. And finally that Thou wilt most graciously be pleased to dispose us all to do justice, to love mercy, and to demean ourselves with that Charity, humility, and pacific temper of mind which were the Characteristics of the Divine Author of our blessed Religion, and without a humble imitation of whose example in these things we can never hope to be a happy nation. Grant our supplication we beseech Thee, through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen." --

This prayer of George Washington appears in St. Paul's Chapel in New York City.
