PRAYER CHALLENGE DAY 15

CHALLENGE TAKEN from the pdf mentioned back here

Suggestion for today from there:

Day 15:  Pray for unity in the church.

Ask that as individuals we drop the petty opinionated issues and seek truth.  That we speak truth in love and listen more than we speak.

Ask for the ability to listen to others and be concerned about what they say instead always trying to get our side of the story heard.

Pray for wisdom and right attitude in applying God’s word to your life and as you teach others.

I pray... that all of them might be One,
Father,
just as You are in Me and I am in You.
May they also be in Us
so that the world may believe
that You have sent Me.

John 17:20-21

Heavenly Father,
Your blessed Son asked that Your church be One as You and He are One, but Christians have not been united as He prayed.

We have isolated ourselves from each other and failed to listen to each other.

We have misunderstood and ridiculed
and even gone so far as to attack each other.

In so doing we have offended against You, and against all who have not believed in You
because of our scandalous disunity.
Forgive us, Father, and make us fully one. Blot out our sins, renew our minds, enkindle our hearts, and guide us by Your Holy Spirit into that Oneness which is Your will.
Amen.

DAILY PRAYER from Germaine Copeland

... author of "Prayers that Avail Much"

The Work of the Lord
Have you grown weary in the work of the Lord? He sends His Word to relieve and refresh you; He is ever mindful of your work with and for Him. This is God's Word to you today: From the fruit of your words you shall be satisfied with good, and the work of your hands shall come back to you [as a harvest] (Proverbs 12:15). Take some deep breaths, and think on the goodness of the Lord. Weariness will fade away, and you will hear the Word of the Lord!

PRAYER:
LORD, thank You for opening the heavens, the storehouse of Your bounty. You bless all the work of my hands if I continue to heed the voice of the LORD, our God, and observe faithfully all Your commandments. I am strong in the Lord and will not give up, for my works will be rewarded.

Father, in the name of Jesus, I stand firm giving myself fully to the work of the Lord, knowing that my labor is not in vain. Amen.

Scripture Reading: Deuteronomy 28:1, 12; 2 Chronicles 15:7; 1 Corinthians 15:58

The daily prayer is written by Germaine Copeland, author of the Prayers That Avail Much family book series.

Father,

Japan really need a united church front. We all need one another. As the Body of Christ, we need to function as One, under the headship and command of Jesus Christ.

May we lay aside our differences and work side by side both aboard and at home in Jesus precious Name.

Thank You Lord for the Church!
Thank You that we can agree on much! May we pray and act as one accord. Serve Japan and one another
in Your Name and for Your Kingdom
may You reign forever and ever...

Lord, You gave Yourself on the cross for the unity of all humankind, we offer up to
You our human nature marred by egoism, arrogance, vanity and anger. Reach out to us with compassion and take care of Your people, so that we may enjoy the peace and joy integral to the order of Your creation.May all Christians work together to bring about Your justice. Give us the courage to help others to bear their cross,
rather than putting our own on their shoulders. Amen.

Lord, throughout all my days help me to have a heart completely surrendered to Your will and purpose in every area of my life, from the mundane to the grand, from the hard to the joyous. Letting go makes more room for You to move in my life and fill it with good things. Give me the discernment to see beyond the mask anything might wear with the intention of diverting my attention and focus from You and Your desire for my life. My sole desire is to be an obedient child of God in every way and in everything.

I receive every open door and revelation. Doors of opportunity and favor are set before me and I will let go of anything keeping me for grabbing the door knob and pushing on through. Nothing is worth forfeiting the plans the Lord has for me. Lord, keep me from being sidetracked or discouraged in any way. I look to the mountain from whence my help comes from and I will not be moved. I give all that I am or ever will be to the service of the Lord and put down all that hinders me. Today I move on in Him.

This Lord is a prayer I share from Brenda's Journals of the Heart today... a perfect Word from You and to You for me... my heart is surrendered and I need You every moment. Sustain me and draw close. I need to know You are my Shield and my Refuge,my Protector, my Strong Tower, My Deliverer... My Lord and Savior...thank You!

PRAYER for Our Nation

This was shared in an email from the Presidential Prayer Team:

Declaration of Independence Signer

Samuel Chase
George Washington (1732-1799), 1st President of the United States

"Almighty God: We make our earnest prayer that Thou wilt keep the United States in Thy Holy protection; and Thou wilt incline the hearts of the Citizens to cultivate a spirit of subordination and obedience to Government; and to entertain a brotherly affection and love for one another and for their fellow Citizens of the United States at large, and particularly for their brethren who have served in the Field. And finally that Thou wilt most graciously be pleased to dispose us all to do justice, to love mercy, and to demean ourselves with that Charity, humility, and pacific temper of mind which were the Characteristics of the Divine Author of our blessed Religion, and without a humble imitation of whose example in these things we can never hope to be a happy nation. Grant our supplication we beseech Thee, through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen." --

This prayer of George Washington appears in St. Paul's Chapel in New York City.
