PRAYER CHALLENGE DAY 21

CHALLENGE TAKEN from the pdf mentioned back here
Suggestion for today from there:

Day 21:  Pray for the leadership of the congregation where you worship.  Ask God to grant them wisdom to oversee the flock.  Pray that Christians will do their part to make their jobs easy.

* added resource: Revive Our Hearts has a pdf for 31 days of Praying for Your Pastor
"There is no greater gift you can give your pastor and the spiritual leaders of your church than to pray for them." ~ Nancy Leigh DeMoss
"Pastors cannot win the battle alone; they need committed intercessors to lift them up in fervent, specific prayer. Imagine how the power of God might be released in our churches if we were to pray faithfully for our pastors." ~ Nancy Leigh DeMoss

"Pastors are human—they face the same challenges that their people do, with some additional ones! They grow tired in ministry, are tempted to sin, and may find it difficult to balance their many roles and responsibilities. They need the encouragement and support of those  they lead." ~ Nancy Leigh DeMoss
"Prayer for your pastor is crucial to the spiritual health of your pastor, his family, and your church. God will reward your efforts to cover him in prayer." ~ Nancy Leigh DeMoss
"If you want to encourage your spiritual leaders (and their wives!) let them know you are praying for them. Ask them periodically for any specific prayer requests and assure them you will pray accordingly. Use the following prayer guide with accompanying scriptures, to suggest practical ways to pray for those who provide spiritual leadership for the flock. " ~ Nancy Leigh DeMoss

Pray that you are not "April fooled" into thinking this challenge, if you stay with it, will not become a habit of 10 minutes at least of prayer daily. That really is not that much. We spend that easily just with one blog or visit. Doesn't God deserve so much more? You may say that God is first, but if you are not making Him first before all the rest, your blog about being Christian is for nothing. Don't be a fool, God is much more worth your time invested in "chatting" with Him than others.

DAILY PRAYER from Germaine Copeland ... author of "Prayers that Avail Much"

Prayers That Avail Much: 25th Anniversary Commemorative Gift Edition (Prayers That Avail Much) (Prayers That Avail Much)

Approved by God
How awesome is our God! The Living Bible says that He made you so wonderfully complex! Amazing! He understands and knows your DNA, the 30 trillion cells that make up your body! He formed every organ to serve you well all the days of your life. You and your DNA are you and you vibrate with divine energy and love. You are His marvelous workmanship; He approves of you! The Father saw you before you were born and scheduled each day of your life before you began to breathe. Every day was recorded in His book! God, the Creator of the universe, chose you, and you are precious to Him.

Prayer:
Heavenly Father, You knit me together in my mother's womb, knew me, and approved of me even before I was born. Wonderful are Your works, and I hold fast to this knowledge. I will not keep silent, but bring the Good News of relief and deliverance to others who do not know You. I was born for such a time as this to fulfill my destiny in the Kingdom of God. I take my place a member of the Body of Christ. Thank You for loving me, in the name of Jesus. Amen.

Scripture Reading: Jeremiah 1:5Psalm 139:13-16;Esther 4:14
The daily prayer is written by Germaine Copeland, author of the Prayers That Avail Much family book series.

Pray the Blessing:
Ps 113:1-3 Behold, how good and pleasant it is when brothers dwell in unity! It is like the precious oil on the head, running down on the beard, on the beard of Aaron, running down on the collar of his robes! It is like the dew of Hermon, which falls on the mountains of Zion! For there the LORD has commanded the blessing, life forevermore.

Declare your faith:
I believe and confess that Jesus Christ is the Head of the Church, that He will build the Church and that the gates of hell shall not prevail against it (Col 1:18; Matt 16:18)

Pray on foot:
Prayer-walk your community and pray at all the churches for unity, perseverance, growth and for the power of the Holy Spirit to manifest through their members. Make an appointment with the bishop, moderator, cardinal, priest or senior church officials and pray for those leading the flock.

Praying for: the Pastors in my community

Miracles Confirming the Word

Scripture: When the crowds heard Philip and saw the miraculous signs he did, they all paid close attention to what he said. -Acts 8:6

Prayer:
Lord, how awesome are Your deeds! There is no one who is mighty like You. You are Lord over all the nations of the earth. You have made the heavens, the earth and everything on it, the seas and all that is in them. Let the whole earth be filled with Your glory.

As the Pastors in my community go out to minister in Your name Lord, I ask that You would release Your miraculous power to confirm the words of Your Gospel. Cause the blind to see, the lame to walk and the sick to be healed, so the people will pay close attention to Your words.

Establish Yourself as the One true God in their midst. Leave no room for debate Lord, but make it clear by Your power that You alone are God and there is no other. In Jesus name, amen.

Day 16, Pathway to Attentiveness | April 1, 2011
Hebrews 1:1-4: In the past God spoke to our ancestors through the prophets at many times and in various ways, but in these last days he has spoken to us by his Son, whom he appointed heir of all things, and through whom also he made the universe.

The Son is the radiance of God's glory and the exact representation of his being, sustaining all things by his powerful word. After he had provided purification for sins, he sat down at the right hand of the Majesty in heaven. So he became as much superior to the angels as the name he has inherited is superior to theirs.

Amazing! God has spoken to us in His Son. Take your time to meditate on this passage and worship the Majesty in heaven.

Praying for: Carlos and Marilu

Wisdom in Counseling

Scripture: My mouth will speak words of wisdom; the utterance from my heart will give understanding. -Psalms 49:3

Prayer: Lord, You are the true and living God, You rule over all things visible and invisible. There is nothing that catches You by surprise, and there is nothing beyond Your reach. You know our rising up and our sitting down. You know when we go out and when we come in.

Lord, as Carlos and Marilu minister to others, anoint them with Your wisdom to reach deep into the heart and minister to them where they need it most. Help them to side step petty excuses and get right to the meat of the matter.

Give them words of knowledge that cut right to the heart and give the understanding needed to bring them into Your freedom. Break down every form of deception, and establish Your truth that sets people free. In Jesus name, amen.

Joy for Peggy

Scripture: Shouts of joy and victory resound in the tents of the righteous: “The Lord’s right hand has done mighty things!” -Psalms 118:15

Prayer: Lord, You are the One who makes rivers to flow on barren heights, and springs within the valleys. You turn the desert into pools of water, and the parched ground into springs. You bring joy out of despair, and nothing is beyond Your reach.

I exalt Your name Lord, I declare that You are high and lifted up over the circumstances of my life. You are my hope, and my joy. My salvation and my God. The One who chose me from the foundation of the world. The One who paid the price for my redemption.

Lord, You are the One who loves me with an everlasting love, who leads me and guides me with Your eye upon me. Release to me Lord, a fresh flow of joy and celebration for who You are and what You have done for me. In Jesus name, amen.

Father God, I thank you for the wonderful shepherd you have placed over our church...please bless my pastor and his family...lead and guide them and direct their paths as they point others to Your Son...give them wisdom and discernment to speak the words You want us to hear...place in our hearts what You would have us to do as the body of Christ to support our pastor...ignite the fire in all of our souls to be passionate workers in Your fields...so many need to hear...so many need to know...so many need to feel Your love through our hands extended...let us love them, just as You first loved us...in Jesus' name...

Heavenly Father, Though I am not at my home church, I still thank You for the wonderful pastors that You have placed there. I thank You for each one and their families! May You give them a fresh anointing and outpouring of Your Holy Spirit. May they work well together as a full team with a body willing and trained to assist. Prepare them and draw them for the vision You have given each one for the church there. Unite the body and stir up a fire to do their part. Every one has a part to share and contribute.
May they have open arms to accept whosoever You would bring there... and be ready to minister. I thank You for the spiritual covering that they are over me. I am grateful for the Truth being spoken and delivered from hearts of compassion. Thank You for their great leadership abilities. I so appreciate and miss them. May they continue to be a shining light in the community and serve many as they do outreaches as a united church, concerned for the city, the lost, the broken and the needs. May their own personal needs be met and heard. Thank You for Your grace and supernatural strength as You guide, lead and keep our shepherds Yours.

Thank You for Karen's church, her pastors and her beautiful prayer and I say AMEN...

PRAYER for Our Nation

This was shared in an email from the Presidential Prayer Team:

Declaration of Independence Signer

Samuel Chase
George Washington (1732-1799), 1st President of the United States

"Almighty God: We make our earnest prayer that Thou wilt keep the United States in Thy Holy protection; and Thou wilt incline the hearts of the Citizens to cultivate a spirit of subordination and obedience to Government; and to entertain a brotherly affection and love for one another and for their fellow Citizens of the United States at large, and particularly for their brethren who have served in the Field. And finally that Thou wilt most graciously be pleased to dispose us all to do justice, to love mercy, and to demean ourselves with that Charity, humility, and pacific temper of mind which were the Characteristics of the Divine Author of our blessed Religion, and without a humble imitation of whose example in these things we can never hope to be a happy nation. Grant our supplication we beseech Thee, through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen." --

This prayer of George Washington appears in St. Paul's Chapel in New York City.
