WFW PRAYER CHALLENGE DAY 7

CHALLENGE TAKEN from the pdf mentioned back here
Suggestion for today from there:

Day 7:  Pray for President Obama and the leadership of this country and others.

  •  Pray that God use Christians during these times of turmoil to show what true Christianity is about. Ask for the strength not to join the railing, crude jokes or evil speak against Obama as God's established government servant.
  • Pray for the body of Christ to focus on living Christ and not politics.
  • Pray for the ability and wisdom to see beyond politics to what is really true.
  • Pray that we see our brothers and sisters in Christ as family and not as political ideologues of left or right opinions.
  • Pray that we are liberal in love, giving, helping and teaching others.
  • Pray that we stop "protests" that are against God's love and peace (this one is added personally by me because of a prayer request) even if our constitution guarantees us "freedom of speech", may we not abuse our rights and fail to speak as Jesus would, with love, compassion and justice for all (i.e. the Clouse family). People have a right to die and be buried with dignity as well as the family to mourn. We are to love one another, not destroy one another or speak evil. Let us represent Jesus Christ in all we say and do. We are His hands and feet as well as our words should be His. ) We are His ambassadors of the gospel of peace.

HEAR THESE WORDS IN LOVE ~
"I'm not sure what we fear about repentance (turning our hearts and lives to God). God will not only receive us; He will also redeem us and remake us. But that repentance is often so hard for us to do. We get stuck in old patterns of destructive and addictive behavior. We believe Satan's deceptive lies. We use self-deprecating thoughts to defeat the Spirit's work in ourselves. So why not come clean and confess our sins and truly turn our lives over to God? If we will, we will find something truly refreshing!"

"When was the last time that you caught yourself straying from a passionate walk with the Lord? Refreshing times come when we change our hearts and lives to live for God and with God in our everyday lives! In fact, Jesus has told us that He will reveal Himself to us as we live obediently for Him (see John 14:15-21). His home will be in us until He returns for us and we get to enjoy the ultimate refreshment -- going home to be with Him forever." ~ Phil Ware

OUR ENTIRE COUNTRY NEEDS TO REPENT! Pray for a repentant spirit in the United States of America from the President all the way through every church leader to each individual whether in church or not. We each need to repent.

PRAYER for Our Nation

This was shared in an email from the Presidential Prayer Team:

Declaration of Independence Signer

Samuel Chase
George Washington (1732-1799), 1st President of the United States

"Almighty God: We make our earnest prayer that Thou wilt keep the United States in Thy Holy protection; and Thou wilt incline the hearts of the Citizens to cultivate a spirit of subordination and obedience to Government; and to entertain a brotherly affection and love for one another and for their fellow Citizens of the United States at large, and particularly for their brethren who have served in the Field. And finally that Thou wilt most graciously be pleased to dispose us all to do justice, to love mercy, and to demean ourselves with that Charity, humility, and pacific temper of mind which were the Characteristics of the Divine Author of our blessed Religion, and without a humble imitation of whose example in these things we can never hope to be a happy nation. Grant our supplication we beseech Thee, through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen." --

This prayer of George Washington appears in St. Paul's Chapel in New York City.
