PRAYER CHALLENGE DAY 10

CHALLENGE TAKEN from the pdf mentioned back here

Suggestion for today from there:
Day 10:  Ask that you might glean something from your daily devotional reading that
you can implement into today's schedule.

Ask for wisdom, insight and ability to make practical application of what you read today.
Ask God for the ability to slow down and really focus on what's important for today and the moment.
Ask for strength to tell the truth lovingly even when it's difficult and hard.

VERSES from In Touch's God's Promises on:

STRENGTH

I have chosen 3 to use in a prayer from Isaiah: 30:15; 40:29 and one of my favorites 40:31.

Lord GOD, Holy One of Israel, You told us 'In repentance and rest, you will be saved, in quietness and trust is your strength.' So I come before You with a repentant heart, and I pray that I will have rest knowing and trusting in my salvation but crying out for the salvation of many in Japan. Help me to find  quietness and may I trust in Your strength as my strength. I ask that You give Your strength to the many struggling in Japan that need a supernatural strength that only comes from You. May they know that it is Your strength that they need. may they turn to You for their salvation.

Thank You Lord for giving strength to the weary. And to those who lack might You increase power of Your Spirit to them. Thank You that when I am weary, because I trust in You, I can find that rest and strength. May it be so for all the lost, to run to You. When we are weary, we are usually at the end of our rope, so may You be there at that end.

Praise You Lord that those who wait for You will gain new strength. That we will mount up with wings like eagles, may we run and not get tired, may we walk and not become weary. Praise be to the Father, the Son and the Holy Ghost, who gives us power to come.

Here's another topic of God's Promises (click and see the verses than it's your turn to select a verse from God's Word and turn it into a PRAYER)

WISDOM

Or choose any of the ones listed as Biblical Promises and claim them in your prayer today.

Children of Light
In Matthew 7:14 Jesus said you are the light of the world. Do not hide your light under a bushel by ignoring a friend or brother in need when it's in your power to help him, or speaking harshly when a kind word would turn away wrath. Let your light so shine before men that they may see your moral excellence and your praiseworthy, noble, and good deeds and recognize and honor and praise and glorify your Father Who is in heaven (Matt 5:16 AMP).

PRAYER
Father, thank you for the Word who became flesh and dwelt among us. In Him was life and the Life was the Light of men. We are children of the Light, walking in Light and we have fellowship with one another, as the blood of Jesus purges all our sin. When we confess our sins, you are just to forgive us and to cleanse us from all wrongdoing. In Christ Jesus, through the shedding of His blood, we are redeemed. Amen.

Scripture Reading: John 1:1-14; Ephesians 5:8, 1 John 1:7-9; Ephesians 1:7

Eternal Father,
turn our hearts to You.

By seeking Your kingdom
and loving one another,
May we become a people who worship You
in spirit and truth.

Grant this through our Lord Jesus Christ, Your Son,
who lives and reigns with You and the Holy Spirit,
one God, for ever and ever.

Lord, renew us in your grace.

Jesus, meek and humble of heart, clothe us with compassion, kindness and humility,
- make us want to be patient with everyone.

Teach us to be true neighbors to all in trouble and distress,
- and so imitate You, the Good Samaritan.
- that they may deepen their dedication to You and to the Church.

Grant us the gift of Your mercy,
- forgive our sins and remit their punishment.

Loving God,
Sometimes my heart
turns in every direction
except towards You.

Please help me
to turn my heart toward You,
to gaze upon You in trust
and to seek Your kingdom with all of my heart.

Soften my hardened heart
so that I might love others
as a way to glorify and worship You.

Grant me this
with the ever-present guidance of Your spirit.

May the Lord bless us,
protect us from all evil
and bring us to everlasting life.
Amen.

DAILY PRAYER from Germaine Copeland

Equipped for Service
God wants you to fulfill your divine destiny. Put on the full armor of God, and continually build yourself up on your most holy faith; walk in love. God has given you His power and ability. He gave gifts to the believer: apostles, prophets, evangelists, pastors and teachers to bring you to maturity and fullly equip you that you should do the work of ministering toward building up Christ's body (the church). Attend a Bible-believing church, read and study the Bible, and pray. You are equipped for service!

PRAYER
O LORD, Your love endures forever, and You will perfect that which concerns me. Through the Word I am put together and shaped up for the tasks you have for me. "I am thoroughly equipped for every good work. I am confident that you will complete this great work you have begun in me" You will bring it to a flourishing finish on the very day Christ Jesus appears. Amen.

Scripture Reading: Psalm 138:8; 2 Timothy 3:17; Philippians 1:6

PRAYER for Our Nation

This was shared in an email from the Presidential Prayer Team:

Declaration of Independence Signer

Samuel Chase
George Washington (1732-1799), 1st President of the United States

"Almighty God: We make our earnest prayer that Thou wilt keep the United States in Thy Holy protection; and Thou wilt incline the hearts of the Citizens to cultivate a spirit of subordination and obedience to Government; and to entertain a brotherly affection and love for one another and for their fellow Citizens of the United States at large, and particularly for their brethren who have served in the Field. And finally that Thou wilt most graciously be pleased to dispose us all to do justice, to love mercy, and to demean ourselves with that Charity, humility, and pacific temper of mind which were the Characteristics of the Divine Author of our blessed Religion, and without a humble imitation of whose example in these things we can never hope to be a happy nation. Grant our supplication we beseech Thee, through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen." --

This prayer of George Washington appears in St. Paul's Chapel in New York City.
