PRAYER CHALLENGE DAY 9

CHALLENGE TAKEN from the pdf mentioned back here

Suggestion for today from there:
Day 9:  Pray for children, in the family, at church, that they will receive guidance, love and wisdom to make godly choices in their life.
Pray for children who have been hurt and abused that God use you and me to be part of their lives to show them what family is really about.
Ask God to help place children who are being adopted into loving healthy Christian homes, so more people will be exposed to His truth and love.

Chapter 5 in Beth Moore's "Praying God's Word" is on "Overcoming the Insecurity of Feeling Unloved" and the next Chapter is "Overcoming Feelings of Rejection". I was not sure which one to share that would go well with the challenge for today. I was led to choose the "insecurity".

"All of us have insecurities... even the most outwardly confident people we know." Beth Moore

Proverbs 19:22 "What a person desires is unfailing love; better to be poor than a liar." (NIV)

"We are not wrong to think we desperately need to be loved. We do. But we are wrong to think we can make anyone love us the way we need to be loved..." Beth Moore

Here are some prayers that Beth shares from God's Word for overcoming insecurity of feeling unloved:

Lord God, help me trust in Your unfailing love; cause my heart to rejoice in Your salvation. Help me to sing to You, Lord, for You have been good to me! (Psalm 13:5-6)

I call on You, O God, for You will answer me, give ear to me and hear my prayer. Show the wonder of Your great love, You who save by Your right hand those who take refuge in You from their foes. Keep me as the apple of Your eye; hide me in the shadow of Your wings. Ps.17:6-8

O God, though the mountains be shaken and the hills be removed, yet Your unfailing love for me will not be shaken nor Your covenant of peace be removed. You are the Lord who has compassion on me. (Isaiah 54:10) Thank You, God.

How I thank You, God, that You will heal my waywardness. You love me freely. (Hosea 14:4)

My faithful God, help me to call this to mind and therefore always have hope: Because of Your great love, I am not consumed, for Your compassions never fail. They are new toward me every morning; great is Your faithfulness. I will say to myself, "The Lord is my portion; therefore I will wait for Him." (Lamentations 3:22-24)

Here are more scriptures that Beth changes into prayers in this chapter:

DAILY PRAYER from Germaine Copeland

... author of "Prayers that Avail Much"

Life in the Spirit
There was time when I tried to live by the rules of my church, but the legalistic doctrines were choking the life out of me. Then, I discovered Life in the Spirit, and my life was forever changed! Jesus came to give you a more abundant life, He and the Father live in you, and have given you the Holy Spirit to help you learn how to walk and live [habitually] in the [Holy] Spirit [responsive to and controlled and guided by the Spirit(Gal 5:16a). When you were born again, God gave you His nature and His ability. You can choose to live in and by the Spirit of God.

PRAYER
Father, I thank you for strengthening those whose hearts are fully committed to you. You prove yourself mighty on their behalf. LORD, you have done great things for your people, and we are filled with joy! We are a happy people, replacing the lower life for the higher life of the Spirit. Thank you for the great things you have done and are doing for us in the name of Jesus, amen.

Scripture Reading: 2 Chronicles 16:9; Psalm 126:2-3; Matthew 10:39

"Tea for Tiffany" Sweet P's today is PRAYERS FOR JAPAN

PLEASE LEAVE A PRAYER THERE FOR JAPAN!

I also received this email last night:

Dear Peggy,

We are asking everyone to take a minute of your time and say a prayer for the Japanese people. Pray for God to give them the wisdom that they need to bring the reactor under control. Remember "Greater love has no one than this, that he lay down his life for his friends" John 15:13. Pray for a great spiritual awaking in Japan releasing the wave of the Holy Spirit to flow across this Nation. Also, pray for those who are there on the ground laying down their lives for their friends.
There is power in the Scriptural prayer of agreement.

Loving in Jesus' Name,

Creator of my life,
renew me: bring me to new life in You. Touch me and make me feel whole again.

Help me to see Your love
in the passion, death and resurrection of Your son.

Help me to observe Lent in a way that allows me to celebrate that love. Prepare me for these weeks of Lent as I feel both deep sorrow for my sins and Your undying love for me.

Thanks be to Christ the Lord, who brought us life by His death on the cross.

With our whole heart let us ask Him:
By Your death raise us to life.

Teacher and Savior, You have shown us Your fidelity and made us a new creation by Your passion,
- keep us from falling again into sin.

Help us to deny ourselves today,
- and not deny those in need.

May we receive this day of penance as Your gift,
- and give it back to You through works of mercy.
Master our rebellious hearts,
- and teach us generosity.

May the Lord bless us,
protect us from all evil
and bring us to everlasting life.
Amen.

I do not wish the sinner to die, says the Lord, but to turn to me and live.

Ezekiel 33

Have mercy O Lord and deliver us from evil. Help us to turn from any evil way that be in us.

PRAYER for Our Nation

This was shared in an email from the Presidential Prayer Team:

Declaration of Independence Signer

Samuel Chase
George Washington (1732-1799), 1st President of the United States

"Almighty God: We make our earnest prayer that Thou wilt keep the United States in Thy Holy protection; and Thou wilt incline the hearts of the Citizens to cultivate a spirit of subordination and obedience to Government; and to entertain a brotherly affection and love for one another and for their fellow Citizens of the United States at large, and particularly for their brethren who have served in the Field. And finally that Thou wilt most graciously be pleased to dispose us all to do justice, to love mercy, and to demean ourselves with that Charity, humility, and pacific temper of mind which were the Characteristics of the Divine Author of our blessed Religion, and without a humble imitation of whose example in these things we can never hope to be a happy nation. Grant our supplication we beseech Thee, through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen." --

This prayer of George Washington appears in St. Paul's Chapel in New York City.
